The deployment by {{alt|Apollo|TOS}} and {{alt|Starbuck|TOS}} in [[Temporal Viper|modified Vipers]] outfitted with {{alt|Zee}}'s [[temporal weapon]]s, as well as the destabilization of the [[temporal battery]] that powers aforesaid technology, leads to the creation of an '''alternate reality'''. 

The removal of a key lynchpin from one reality generates a divergent one where the Colonials ''never'' create the last of the Colonial {{alt|battlestar|TOS}}s, ''{{alt|Galactica|TOS}}''.

== Divergences ==

As ''Galactica'' does not ''naturally'' exist (aside of the unexplained anomaly of {{alt-r|Galactica|its later presence}} and capture by {{alt-r|Starbuck}} at some point in his lifetime), {{alt-r|Adama}} is passed over for command and pursues work in the diplomatic service, dissuading his children from careers in the military ({{comics|vol2|3}}).

The {{alt-r|Battle of Cimtar}} still occurs much in the way {{alt|its counterpart had}}, resulting in the decimation of {{alt-r|Twelve Colonies of Man}}, and an exodus of the human race under Adama's leadership. Another major divergence is that Adama never pursued {{alt|Earth|TOS}} and instead fostered a [[Colonial Resistance|resistance]] in order to fight the Cylon Empire and regain their homeworlds, despite overwhelming odds ({{comics|vol2|2}}).

Baltar is given command of a [[Baltifer's basestar|basestar]], and through experimentation by a rapidly aging {{alt-r|Zee}}, merges with {{alt-r|Lucifer}}. This amalgamates into the cybernetic entity [[Baltifer]] ({{comics|vol2|3}}).  

Other minor divergences include:

* The naming of [[Q-Cache 2702]] as [[Q-Cache 7202]] in the alternate reality ({{comics|vol2|2}}).
* The use of the word [[flark]] in lieu of [[frack]] ({{comics|vol2|3}}). 
* {{alt-r|Red-Eye}} and {{alt-r|Lacerta}} make a bargain (quickly reneged) to spare Lacerta and his collaborator's lives on {{alt-r|Equellus}} ({{comics|vol2|4}}).
* A divergence in Colonial Warrior uniforms, as noted by {{alt-r|Boomer}} following Apollo's capture ({{comics|vol2|2}}). 
* The presence of the battlestar ''{{alt-r|Pegasus}}'' during the Battle of Cimtar ({{comics|vol2|4}}).
