German Main Page

Hello Shane,

I would like to propose some things concerning the German Mainpage:

  • Because we have lost all german editors, there should be a hint, that they have to subscribe new. Could you integrate that? Proposion for the german text: "Aufgrund von technischen Umstellungen sind die Benutzer Accounts deaktiviert. Bitte registriert Euch unter dem alten Namen neu." The word "registriert" should be linked to the subsribe process.
  • The Quote of the day does not work. Allthough I have edited the Zitat 9.2 page, it does not appear on the mainpage. Could you please check this?
  • As long, as there are only a few collaborateurs on the german page, the quote of the day, which is at present remarked as a "Quote of the week", should stay present until it is edited new and not disappear every day.
  • This template could be integrated into the main page for faster finding the episodes.

General:

  • In Germany Battlestar is published by two TV-broadcasts, one (Premiere) is payed, and one (RTL II) is free. Only a few people are subscribed for the Pay-TV. Thus shouldn't we have two Spoiler-warnings (Premiere, RTLII) for the episodes?
  • I have linked our german page in the article "Battlestar Galactica" of german Wikipedia. I hope, we get more contributors now. Best wishes -- Tirkon 09:45, 2 September 2006 (CDT)

Hi. I responded to your comment on my talk page, but I don't think you've read it yet. Noneofyourbusiness 12:19, 7 September 2006 (CDT)

Navigational Infobox

Hey. The navigational infobox category and some of its content is dreadfully misspelled, but I didn't want to muck about it for fear of breaking something. Could you correct? --Spencerian 13:14, 12 September 2006 (CDT)

Do'h. Fixing. --Shane (T - C - E) 16:49, 12 September 2006 (CDT)

10k

Gratz on 10k edits Shane --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 15:26, 13 September 2006 (CDT)

Thanks. Everyone gave me something to do to reach this point. No way could I have done 10k of edits of my own project, even if I had to fix it twice. lol :) --Shane (T - C - E) 15:28, 13 September 2006 (CDT)
Gratz. Thanks for the work! --FrankieG 09:52, 14 September 2006 (CDT)

Template to calculate ages?

Shane, is there a way we can calculate how old a person is through a template? For instance, someone would enter their birth day in number format (such as 09-17-1978) and then the template would calculate how many years old someone is? (Admittedly, what brings this to mind is CA's birthday, which he updated on his user page.) Possible? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 15:15, 14 September 2006 (CDT)

I'll look into it. --Shane (T - C - E) 01:26, 15 September 2006 (CDT)

e-mail

Thanks for the heads up; I forgot to check the "enable" button. Should be fixed now. Awesome that the chinese wiki will be up soon. And I just posted a comment about frakparty.com, btw. --Fang Aili 14:31, 20 September 2006 (CDT)

MediaWiki:Emailuser

I don't understand. The source code? --Shane 07:05, 25 September 2006 (CDT)

Yeah. You know, like The Matrix.
Just kidding. The source for MediaWiki:Emailuser is hidden so it can't be edited; I'm trying to wrangle up the function for experimentation, to see how it works. Trying to use it on another wiki project; just happened to see it here and thought I'd inquire into it. Was just getting ready to drop you a line since Spence suggested I contact you or Joe. Talk about timing! --Sasoriza 07:13, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
