Hey there, fellow graphics person. There are a few pages that deal with requested stuff, such as here http://www.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Battlestar_Wiki:Requested_Images - also have a look at the 'special pages' link on the left hand side. I do mainly HDTV screencaps, but theres bound to be someone needing icons and other graphical stuff needed doing. As for the Season 3 caps - well, whats the resolution and quality like? I wont say for definite if they're needed as yet, seeing as its a montage of the whole season, and no-one knows what cap would go to what episode if you know what i mean :) --Fordsierra4x4 12:45, 31 July 2006 (CDT)

Well, they could serve temporarily on the Season 3 page (seeing as how anybody viewing that page currently is looking for spoilers anyway). However we'd have to take care to pull them once Season 3 becomes a non-spoiler page... --Steelviper 13:15, 31 July 2006 (CDT)

That's not a bad idea. Though it's kind of hard to tell, before clicking on an image, that it's a spoiler. And once you've clicked on it, a little banner telling you it's a spoiler will just show above it. It'd be cool if there was a spoiler preference that controlled the display of spoiler related text and images. (Hmmm, perhaps using CSS?) --Steelviper 13:25, 31 July 2006 (CDT)

I must commend you on the Seal of the Twelve Colonies you uploaded Scothfairy; I've been hoping we could get a copy of that for months now (I mean it's kind of embarrassing that we could never find a good copy before, I mean like the Star Trek wiki has a pic of the Seal of the United Federation of Planets on the Federation article, etc.). Should I upload the artwork I have for Galactica's and Pegasus' seals? They're prettier than the patches (which I also have). This is all stuff I've already released elsewhere, so there's no reason not to use it here.

Those are the packages as I have them available for download. I'd obviously split them up before uploading them here. And I don't think you need every variation of the Galactica ship patch unless you're going to use them on the individual pages for Officers, Enlisted, Marines, Deck Crew, Pilots, etc. As I noted on the Talk:Uniforms (RDM) page, there appears to only be one version of the Pegasus patch.--Scotchfairy 05:37, 10 August 2006 (CDT)

image quality

(let's see if I understand the formatting commands) I'm uploading a couple examples of the screen caps I have. You folks tell me if they're good enough quality to use here.

• smaller sized Boomer
• larger sized Boomer
• smaller sized Kara
• larger sized Kara

Pretty good. Just name them Season3_ so people who hate to be spolied don't view them. Upload the larger ones. Tag them is {{screencap}} for now. I will get around or someone to create a image spoler tag and season 3 tag. --Shane ^{(T - C - E)} 02:08, 2 August 2006 (CDT)

Wallpaper

Hi there, just wondering if a) you saw my wallpaper b) minded me using your kickass B&W PNG to create it and c) if you could do one or two of the pre-existing seals in PNG but slightly larger, for use in a 1280x1024 and higher image (Galactica & Pegasus, both in Grayscale). Query...

Since you made a large BSG-75 logo, think you can make an oversized logo for the Wiki? 1024x728 res would be the best or larger. It would help with the splash page design. Would need the .ai or .psd so I can resize it also in the flash. --Shane ^{(T - C - E)} 22:07, 30 August 2006 (CDT)

I could do that. I'm assuming you want something that will look like the existing logo? Sorry for the lag in response. I've been in Toronto for a week. Got back on the 5th, but I've been playing catch-up ever since. I'm feeling retarded again. I've looked all over, including at Battlestar Wiki Media, and I can't find a clean copy of the logo. I also can't just snag it off the page because of the way templates work (or Safari is too lame to do it), so I don't have anything to look at for comparison purposes while I'm working. Oh, and I'm running poor old PhotoShop 7 and Illustrator 11, so some files saved in CS2 won't work for me. I gotta get a day job that actually pays so I can upgrade...But anyway, I need a clean copy of the existing logo that's bigger than 50x50.--Scotchfairy 05:42, 11 September 2006 (CDT)

Okay, I've staggered back in from having an interesting life. It happens when you're a musician...anyway, I now have a totally blank version of the BSG badge which should speed things up if anyone else needs or wants to work with that image for any reason. You can find it here. I'll upload the one that has WIKI on it later today. In the meantime, check out the New Caprica Police badge that I did tonight.

One of my cats is I fear dying, and I may have to drop everything and take him back to the vet at any time. I'm going to really hope he's just got a nasty bug instead of being poisoned or having kidney failure...But I only have one gig this month, so I should have more time to log in here. Re-imagined Series definition: Battlestar Group (TRS: "Water"). It also doubles as an acronym for the television series itself.
