Dutch Season 2 Airdates[edit]

Thanks for the compliment regarding my English, Catrope!(And yes, I'm Dutch as well) I come by here occassionally, though not much recently, since I seem to have trouble getting the images on the website to appear correctly (they're all replaced by the 'No hotlinking' icon for some odd reason (see here). Do you have similar problems?

I noticed you're Dutch too, so that's why I was wondering.. Jarno Miedema 18:41, 4 January 2007 (CET)

Transcription[edit]

Thanks for your efforts on the "Rapture" podcast transcription. I've been swamped at work, and things are likely to continue to be rough for another week or two. I've been dreading the backlog on the podcasts, but it's nice to see progress being made. I'll try to break away if I get a chance to do some transcription or maybe verification, but I wanted to thank you for helping ease my mind. --Steelviper 12:53, 30 January 2007 (CST)

Do you want me to help out with transcription of Act 4 of "Rapture", or just start verifying on act 1? With the "week off" we don't have a big rush either way so I thought I'd give you the option. --Steelviper 13:27, 5 February 2007 (CST)
The week off is a relief (BTW, do you have any idea why there's just a week missing at a seemingly random point? The same occurred between Hero and Unfinished Business). I'm on Rapture's Act 3 right now, I think I can get it done fairly quickly, but if you want to start verifying from the Teaser, be my guest. When I'm done with Rapture, I'll start verifying TaB as well. --Catrope 13:58, 5 February 2007 (CST)
LOL! It's only seemingly random to those outside the US. This break was a result of the show potentially conflicting with the Super Bowl (American football). There will be another break for an awards show coming up (Oscars? Emmy's? Something some show like that). The "Hero"/"Unfinished Business" gap was an American holiday (Thanksgiving) which historically has relatively low ratings due to people shopping, going to family gatherings, and watching (yet more) American football. I'll try to start verifying "Rapture" today, then. --Steelviper 14:17, 5 February 2007 (CST)
Wait a minute, SciFi doesn't air sports, does it? Or do they just postpone the show because they fear low ratings? They do cancel stuff for soccer matches over here (NL), but only on the channel that actually airs the match. --Catrope 14:25, 5 February 2007 (CST)
BTW, I added <!-- ? --> at some places in the transcript, those are the places where I wasn't sure whether my interpretation was correct. Try searching the textarea for it, if your browser can do that. (Firefox 2.0 can, 1.5 can't, and I don't know about IE). --Catrope 14:28, 5 February 2007 (CST)
Correct, SciFi doesn't air sports (unless you count wrestling, which is more like "athletic drama" really). It's postponing the show in fear of low ratings. The shows that pre-empt BSG are usually shows that air on the major broadcast networks (as opposed to a "cable" channel) and are shows that historically dominate all demographics for their time slot. Advertisers are unlikely to be willing to fork out much money in the face of such competition (and in fact may be spending their money ON those competing shows). Thanks for the heads up. I just upgraded to FF2.0, so I finally can search the text of the edit are reliably (the "highlight" function worked some in 1.5, but nowhere near as well as the search in 2.0). --Steelviper 14:33, 5 February 2007 (CST)

Edit Conflict[edit]

Just got bit by an edit conflict on "Taking a Break". If you can hold off on edits on acts that I'm actively working on we're less likely to run into conflicts again. I think I recaptured all your changes, but you might want to double-check. Sorry about that. --Steelviper 16:01, 31 January 2007 (CST)

Sorry, my bad. I saw two uglies in there (the Lee link and a link to Samuel Ander (misspelled)) and fixed them, not thinking that you may have been editing too. You put it back correctly BTW. --Catrope 01:05, 1 February 2007 (CST)

Fixs[edit]

Fixed a few things. Nice work! :-)! Shane (T - C - E) 09:58, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Yeah, I noticed. I did the Major/Minor thing in a hurry, so I wasn't really paying attention. --Catrope 10:07, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Podcast:The Woman King[edit]

I'll be lucky if I get Act 3 completed tomorrow, and I'm unlikely to contribute anything this weekend. If you're interested, I could use a hand getting act 4 done (if we're shooting to complete before the next episode airs). As long as we use the "section" edit buttons (the edit button for the particular act break) we shouldn't run into edit conflicts. No pressure, but otherwise I'll likely end up finishing it up early next week (and getting a later start on the next podcast). Thanks (either way). --Steelviper 15:37, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Unfortunately, I will be away for the weekend as well. It's Thursday evening over here, which means I literally don't have any time to help you out. I myself will start on A Day in the Life after the weekend, then proceed to verifying TaB, and only after that I'll transcribe the remainder of TWK. This weird order is caused by my idea that TWK is the least pivotal episode of these three. --Catrope 15:42, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Episode cites[edit]

Please remember to put quotation marks around episode titles when you use them within a sentence. Leaving them away is only done when citing a single episode in parentheses. Even when listing several episodes that way, quotation marks are used to separate them. Just saying because I saw that a few times now, though it's not such a big issue on talk pages --Serenity 17:00, 24 February 2007 (CST)

Yeah, I saw your corrections. I'll keep it in mind. --Catrope 05:38, 25 February 2007 (CST)

Troyian User Page[edit]

  • Sure, you have my permission! -- Troyian 05:20, 25 February 2007 (CST)
I'll get right to it. --Catrope 05:39, 25 February 2007 (CST)
  • Just so you know, I've added descriptions of Caprica, Aerelon, Gemenon, Tauron and Virgon to my user page. If you want to archive the previous version of my user page, go right ahead. -- Troyian 15:09, 27 February 2007 (CST)
It's done. --Catrope 15:22, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Copy/Paste[edit]

It's called a copy and paste frakup from :D --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 04:08, 28 February 2007 (CST)

What exactly are you talking about here? --Catrope 04:18, 28 February 2007 (CST)
My mistake with the "last aired episode" template :D --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:18, 28 February 2007 (CST)

You asked for it...[edit]

...and now its here. Auto updating article counts on the front page. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:11, 28 February 2007 (CST)

Sysop on HB[edit]

So you can test your stuff. Shane (T - C - E) 00:10, 11 March 2007 (CST)

Thanks. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:50, 11 March 2007 (CDT)

Crew info box changes[edit]

thanks for helping out with the infobox changes but can you remember to categorise everyhitng correctly. ensure that people are in a crew cat as well as crew (rdm) for example. Also check if they are writers or producers as there are cats for those too --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:04, 20 April 2007 (CDT)

Will do, thanks for the heads up. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 09:06, 20 April 2007 (CDT)

My RFA[edit]

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 7/0/0. Thank you very much for your support. I'll continue to keep up the good work, and if I can help you with anything, don't hesitate to contact me. JubalHarshaw 15:59, 21 April 2007 (CDT)
No problem, you deserve adminship. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:05, 21 April 2007 (CDT)

Recent Rollback on Hera Agathon[edit]

I rolled back your changes in the article. BW:SAC is very clear on this. Use last names only for all characters in their bios, but use first names when dealing with characters with the same last name. The article's subject gets preference in terms of the last name of the article and uses the subject's first name when her mother is referenced simultaneously to avoid confusion. --Spencerian 08:53, 24 April 2007 (CDT)

Didn't know it was in BW:SAC, just sounded silly to call a child by their last name. Anyway, if you had looked closer at my edit, you would have seen Agathon->Hera wasn't the only thing, I also cleaned up some other minor things. It would've been better to manually change back Hera --> Agathon and leave my other fixes in place, rather than just reverting my entire edit. Not that I mind very much, I already added those fixes back in, but it is an annoyance. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 08:57, 24 April 2007 (CDT)
Sure. Sorry, the rollback power is a blunt stick with not a lot of discrimination, but I should have tried the Undo. :) --Spencerian 10:53, 24 April 2007 (CDT)
I know, laziness is very tempting ;). --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 13:01, 24 April 2007 (CDT)

Verified through 27[edit]

I've verified through your current progress on the frak party. I'm pretty sure Mrs. Ron (Terry Dresbach) is there, having transcribed her a couple times in the past, but I could be wrong. It doesn't significantly change the meaning, one way or the other. --Steelviper 10:14, 1 May 2007 (CDT)

I also thought for a moment that I heard her, but I wasn't sure. The tendency of RDM repeating what she says does make it more likely. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 11:27, 1 May 2007 (CDT)
And I'd almost forget: thanks for the verification and kudos for the speed ;) --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 11:29, 1 May 2007 (CDT)

Starboard flight pod[edit]

I too am convinced that it was just an usual procedure in light of the previous quarantine orders. And I wrote as much at flight pod. There is nothing to indicate, that the whole pod is operation just because of that (like a lot of people seem prone to assume). I didn't want to include that on the museum page again, but you managed to get across in very few words :) --Serenity 15:01, 22 May 2007 (CDT)

I guess I learned by watching the concision fairy ;) --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 15:04, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
What?! Huh? My ears, wings and hatchet are burning.... --Spencerian 15:13, 22 May 2007 (CDT)

I like the switch better....[edit]

Less templates. :-) Shane (T - C - E) 10:29, 23 May 2007 (CDT)

The new solution makes sure everyone can set autoborders, rather than just the people who can edit Template:Flag (which should really be protected). --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 10:31, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Maybe, but if we had a template check... every page would be looking for it and it become a "requested template" under Wanted Pages. We are trying to reduce that list.. not expand it. :-) Shane (T - C - E) 10:33, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Template:Country alias is on top of Special:Wantedpages with 152 links, all resulting from pages using the {Cast,Crew,User} Data template while not specifying a nationality. Also, does it really matter? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 10:39, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
That will be fixed soon... :-D Shane (T - C - E) 10:40, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Job queue is over 15k. I am running it right now. Shane (T - C - E) 10:51, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
I saw the fix. What exactly is the job queue and what does it mean that it's over 15K? Also, in which way will hundreds of pages checking for Template:Country flag autoborder US and find it nonexistent hurt the system? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 11:05, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Fixed! YAY! :-D Shane (T - C - E) 11:57, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Am I the only one that think flag borders look ugly? --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 12:16, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
I do not like them either... naybe not "white". Maybe another color.. Shane (T - C - E) 12:29, 23 May 2007 (CDT)
Hmm, whatever you did to Template:Border just now messed up the borders for BEL BEL again. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:51, 23 May 2007 (CDT)

Shane, could you elaborate more on why you prefer the #switch over the templates? AFAIK, doing an #ifexists on a page doesn't get it into Special:Wantedpages. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:34, 23 May 2007 (CDT)

How do i turn off flag borders for me then? I dont think they look right and dont fit well with the rest of the wiki design. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 02:58, 25 May 2007 (CDT)
