My user page on Wikipedia is here. On Battlestar Wiki, I have worked on:

Notes for future articles: Race, Nationality and Language in the Colonies

  • National "character traits"
    • Gemenon is "fundamentalist"
  • Race
    • Large number of african characters from Geminon, european characters from Caprica. Exceptions?
    • Race and colony of origin may not be strongly correlated - when Baltar attempted to guess at Boomer's place of origin, he commented on her accent, not her physical appearance.
    • Aerelon
      • Boomer - east asian
      • Sekou Hamilton - mixed race - african/european (?)
    • Canceron
      • Robin Wenutu - european
    • Caprica
      • William Adama - mestizzo / mixed race - european/amerindian
      • Caroline Adama - european
        • Zak and Lee Adama - their children
      • Kara Thrace - european
      • Gaius Baltar - european
      • Aaron Doral - european
    • Gemenon
      • Sarah Porter - african
      • Venner - african
    • Picon
      • Safiya Sanne - east asian
      • Playa Palacios - european
    • Sagittaron
      • Dualla - african
      • Tom Zarek - european
      • Valence - european
    • Virgon
      • Marshall Bagott - european
    • Race and Sexuality
      • Interracial couplings seem common:
        • WIlliam/Caroline Adama
        • Boomer/Tyrol
        • Boomer/Helo
        • Dualla/Billy
        • Dualla/Lee Adama
      • Gaius Baltar and Kara Thrace appear to have a preference for individuals of their own race, however:
        • Kara/Baltar
        • Kara/Anders
        • Baltar/Six
        • Baltar/Playa
      • With a pair of (somewhat confusing) exceptions:
        • Kara/Zak
        • Kara/Lee
  • Language
    • English is standard. Loanwords from foreign languages ("fascist", "karma", etc.) occur with normal frequency, as do somewhat odd borrowings such as the Battlestar Columbia. Most religious terms are explicitly shared with ancient greek beliefs.
    • American accents are the most common, but others occur:
    • English Accents:
      • Baltar
      • Ishay
    • Spanish Accents:
      • Woman in miniseries whose husband was "stationed on Geminon"
    • Aerelon Accent:
      • Baltar claimed that Sharon Valerii spoke with a trace of an Aerelon accent. The actress who portrays her, Grace Park, speaks English with a standard american accent.
