Hi again Joe, Joseph, and everyone,
Here is what it says on the Propworx site here;
http://archive.propworx.com/1006/418
"Translights depicting various regions by sector of space. A set of seven translights seen in the Miniseries that were laid out on the center command console in the CIC and used as set decoration. This set features the regions of: Prolimar, Temeron, 96542, Capricorn, Cascadia, Elianica and Caprica."
Not sure how canonical this is.
Further to this question, if you wanted to revise the page to include the jpgs or images of the regions, two problems arise in my mind - first they are on the Propworx site and second the images are somewhat blurry.  Good images might help clear up the sector vs. region issue through the text on the images.  I am not sure whether Grazier's Science of Battlestar Galactica might have something to say on this - I will check.
Best wishes,

Hi,

This is a Discussion Page on Sectors. I am new to this; apologies for any errors or omissions in advance.

I wanted to draw attention to the question of sectors. If one searches the BSG auctions websites, there are a variety of "region" maps. These were used primarily on the light tables of the Pegasus and Galactica CICs. The difference between "region" and a "sector" is not clear - but I think this is a good place to add info on the regions.

Here is an example of what I mean on the Propsworx website for the Elianica Region;

Cheers,

Hello, Johna! We have no problem in adding the region information to this list, and rename it "List of Regions and Sectors." -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 12:41, 9 May 2011 (EDT)

Hi Joe & Everyone,

Thanks for the reply and welcome! Yes, it is interesting, but the difference between the two (i.e. sectors and regions) is unclear. Is a region a subset of a sector?

Cheers, --Johna 12:45, 9 May 2011 (EDT)

That distinction hasn't been well defined in the series, to be honest. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 13:11, 9 May 2011 (EDT)
The impression I go was of a sector being a well defined area, confined within a set number of co-ordinate points, while a region is Far more vague, kinda like Argentina being a sector, while Patagonia would be a region. JosephK19 11:53, 10 May 2011 (EDT)
Sorry Joseph, but that is not an answer, at all. You're only pointing out the lack of a defined distinction between the two... a region is logically the exact same thing, as it is also confined within a set number of co-ordinate points. What we're looking for here is what is the difference between "region" and "sector"? Is it that a "region" consists of various "sectors," or is it the reverse? Or is it that they are synonyms? That is what has not been defined here. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 12:05, 10 May 2011 (EDT)

Hi again Joe, Joseph, and everyone,

Here is what it says on the Propworx site here;

Not sure how canonical this is.

Further to this question, if you wanted to revise the page to include the jpgs or images of the regions, two problems arise in my mind - first they are on the Propworx site and second the images are somewhat blurry. Good images might help clear up the sector vs. region issue through the text on the images.
