As far as I know, the only semi-canonical reference the Intersun is a brief mention on http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/ships/ships/ . We need to know the following information:

  • Is Intersun a manufacturer, like Boeing, or an operator, like United Airlines?
  • How were the crew of Colonial Heavy 798 identified as Intersun employees?
  • How was the Olympic Carrier identified as an Intersun vessel?

--Peter Farago 01:00, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

It appears that "Intersun" is visible on the side of Colonial Heavy 798. This argues pretty strongly against Intersun being a manufacturer, IMO - Boeing doesn't put their name on the sides of their planes, after all. So the question is, why is the red luxury liner on SciFi labeled "Gemon Liners" on the model and "Intersun Passenger Cruiser" in the text? --Peter Farago 01:05, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
Intersun is certainly a spaceliner: the miniseries pilot's uniform (see closeup when he gives Roslin her presidential marching orders from Case Orange in miniseries or see the Intersun page with picture of same closeup) and the ship itself of Colonial One show it clearly. Boeing DOES add its name to their planes, but only on the new planes before they are purchased by a liner, whereupon the plane gets the usual airliner's name and paint job. You have a point about Gemon Liners. We just need to distinguish the maker from the liner properly here, which may then leave the ship's model in doubt but the liner origin more clear. I may need to look through the Olympic information; I think I saw that connection to Intersun on SciFi.com's BSG ships section. But I'm positive that Intersun, as portrayed from the miniseries, is a spaceliner. --Spencerian 08:34, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
In that case, we should move Intersun Passenger Cruiser to something more generic, like, "Luxury Liner", yes? --Peter Farago 09:30, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
Agreed. Solves all woes. --Spencerian 09:49, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
It seems to me that the uniform says "Eversun" O_o. "Intersun" definitely appears on the hull of Colonial One though: Image:BSG-Colonial-One.jpg. --Serenity 10:29, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
Yep. This is a patent frak up. I think the costume and SFX people weren't on the same page as RDM wrote it. I recommend sticking with "Intersun" (since we see the name on the ship and have never seen the pilot again) but noting the patch inconsistency here and on the Colonial One captain article. --Spencerian 10:48, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
If Intersun ever appeared in the script as such. Lots of things were in flux then, so it's understandable. But using the picture in the article isn't such a good idea. I'll make a note or something. --Serenity 10:50, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
