Best guess its a part from the Commsystem of Starbucks Viper that was capable of receiving the homing signal from earth, that noone else could receive. We saw Starbuck and Leoben track down the signal on earth so they probably removed it from the Viper and had it with them. Given Starbucks reaction to finding her body and everyone else being told nothing had been found, it imaginable that Leoben simply kept it, as noone else was bothering about it. What was that device Roslin and Leoben were using to communicate with the rest of the Fleet?
Best guess its a part from the Commsystem of Starbucks Viper that was capable of receiving the homing signal from earth, that noone else could receive. We saw Starbuck and Leoben track down the signal on earth so they probably removed it from the Viper and had it with them. Given Starbucks reaction to finding her body and everyone else being told nothing had been found, it imaginable that Leoben simply kept it, as noone else was bothering about it.
