I don't object to this article, but I really think it's inappropriate to use this as a placeholder for unnanounced directors. It means something entirely different. --Peter Farago 00:43, 12 December 2005 (EST)

I dont see a need for this article, surely it would simply be better to link to wikipedia if there is ever a case so it to be used. Like Peter said it should definily not be used as a placeholder. Alan Smithee is an official name and should only be used where appropriate --Mercifull 06:35, 3 April 2006 (CDT)
