Starbuck is a pirate in an alternate reality, having never become a Colonial Warrior and instead becoming a gluttonous, fumarello-smoking and inebriated pirate with questionable morals.

Following the Battle of Cimtar, Starbuck and his crew of raiders make successful attacks against the Cylon Empire for their own enrichment aboard a temporally displaced Galactica (Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #3). They are successful in their efforts due to the reverse engineering of various pieces of Cylon tech, resulting in the sensor shield, the signal disruptor, and various other anti-Cylon technologies (Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #4).

A temporally displaced Starbuck's appearance in the alternate reality shows Starbuck what he could have been, and begrudgingly lends his support in the defense of Cache and the Colonial Resistance against Baltifer's forces, and later in the defense of the battlestar Galactica (Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #5).
