Sickbay

The main doctor in sickbay is Dr. Cottle, but in emergencies labcoat-wearing physicians who are sometimes present in the Weight Room and several medics can be called in to help to tend to the patients (Litmus).

The sickbay also seems to have the equipment of a basic small hosptial; beds, stretchers, IV's, etc. The spartan appearance of the sickbay is reminiscent of a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) unit.

Major characters who have spent time in sickbay are:

• Cally -- gunshot wound in "Bastille Day"
• President Laura Roslin -- breast exam and inquiry about available medication in "Act of Contrition"
• Starbuck -- broken knee from "You Can't Go Home Again" to "Six Degrees of Separation"
• Boomer -- for gunshot wound in the cheek from "Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I"
• William Adama -- after the attempt on his life by Sharon Valerii from "Scattered" to "Resistance"
• Gaius Baltar -- A process similiar to a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan of his brain, to determine whether or not his "internal" Number Six was a chip in "Home, Part II"

According to Lee Adama, the sickbay is also designed as a disaster shelter in the event of a ship catastrophe (Valley of Darkness).
