The New Caprica Resistance was formed by Kara "Starbuck" Thrace to resist the Cylon occupation of New Caprica after President Gaius Baltar's surrender. The day the Cylons marched into New Caprica City, Starbuck vowed that they would "fight 'em until we can't" (Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II).

Two months into the occupation of New Caprica, Tigh, Galen Tyrol, and Jammer are organizing, recruiting, and stockpiling weapons for the resistance.
