Leonis was originally known as Leo.  The constellation Leo appeared on the original flag of Leonis ([[Home, Part II]]). During the first meeting of the interim Quorum of 12 ([[Colonial Day]]) Leonis was represented by the male delegate Saftya Sanners. By the time martial law was declared upon the fleet ([[Fragged]]), Saftya Sanners is not shown as one of the Quorum aboard the Galactica to see President Roslin. It must be assumed he was replaced. It may be possible that because Saftya Sanners had the characteristics of a Central Asian (Indian), that the Central Asian female delegate wearing a chain sash may have replaced him. If this is so, the tribe of Leonis may have the characteristic features similar to Central Asians.
