Overview

Leah Cairns grew up in Kamloops, B.C., with dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Those dreams were dashed when she broke her back in a car accident at 16. When her dance team went to an international competition in her graduating year, rather than sit and mope at home, she headed off to Costa Rica, starting an eight-year backpacking odyssey that took her to 36 countries. Prior to returning to Canada, she stumbled into an improv class at an ashram in India. A new career was born.

Leah owns a long haired chihuahua named "Godiva", who is speculated to be friends with Katee Sackhoff's dog, "Meatball", but Leah said in a recent interview that this isn't true.

Film and TV

Leah has appeared in CTV’s comedy series Robson Arms. She has also appeared as a regular on the recently cancelled Canadian CITY-TV comedy series Godiva's, as 'Jenna', a waitress & dancer. She first appeared as the Raptor pilot Racetrack in the season one finale of Battlestar Galactica, and was initially meant as a one-episode character. However, the production team liked her performance so much that Racetrack was expanded into a regular recurring role in season 2. She will also be appearing opposite Al Pacino in the upcoming feature 88 Minutes, as well as in a recurring role on the new TNT series Saved.
