Kern Vinson

Vinson is a civilian member of the Fleet.

Vinson took part in Sesha Abinell's hostage taking folly on board the Cloud 9 lounge, hoping to get the pregnant copy of Sharon Valerii in exchange for hostages.

He has at least one sibling, Page, who is killed during a botched Marine assault led by Captain Starbuck.

Vinson himself is killed during a second rescue attempt, which resulted in the death of of the three remaining hostage-takers and at least one hostage. Vinson himself is killed by Billy Keikeya as Vinson went to execute Anastasia Dualla on Abinell's order, but he manages to mortally wound Billy prior to his death (Sacrifice).

During the episode, Vinson is referred to as 'Kern', but at this time, it is unknown if this is his first or last name.
