Founders' Day is a Colonial holiday celebrating the official groundbreaking ceremonies following the settlement of the planet named New Caprica. It was celebrated nearly 8 months before the Cylon occupation, with a speech from President Gaius Baltar outlining New Caprica City as well as the New Caprica Mall. Later festivities included line dancing, along with heavy drinking (TRS: "Unfinished Business").
