Emily Kowlski is a terminal cancer patient who is being treated aboard Galactica. Her cancer is more advanced than Laura Roslin's.

After meeting Roslin in Galactica's sickbay, she initially annoys Roslin because she listens to wireless broadcasts by Baltar. However, the two bond and eventually discuss their mortality and faith.
