Term used, in conjunction with a three digit number, to describe the location of a Dradis Contact. "Karem" describes the contact's position on an incremented disc perpendicular to the ecliptic. For example:

"Dradis Contact! Cylon Basestar, bearing 187, karem 221!"

This would indicate a Cylon Basestar 187 incrememnts to starboard, then 221 increments up froim the ecliptic. Note that, while this system is exactly the same system as used in other sci-fi shows such as "Star Trek (karem replaced with "mark"), the contacts in Battlestar Galactica have been located with numbers greater than 360, so it is assumed that some incrementation other than degrees is used.
