Summary

The Battlestar Wiki is a "living" dictionary and episode guide to the Battlestar Galactica television series (circa 2003-). It is a "living" website, because it can be changed and amended by users. You can add pictures, information, and external links to websites in support of information contained within the Battlestar Wiki. Each entry, such as those on, let's say, the Galactica herself or Commander William 'Husker' Adama, are like dictionary/encyclopedia entries on that person/item/topic.

For an idea of what the Battlestar Wiki can be with YOUR help, visit the Wikipedia and the Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 for ideas and inspiration.

What is this Wiki About?

The Battlestar Galactica Wikipedia (a.k.a. Battlestar Wiki) is a free online encyclopedia and episode guide covering the Science Fiction series, the original Battlestar Galactica, Galactica 1980, and the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica.

The Battlestar Wiki is aimed to cover everything related to the Battlestar Galactica series. From Apollo to Tom Zarek, to Aerelon to Virgon, and also from Frak to Zak, the Wiki covers and continues to expand coverage on all things Battlestar.

This Wiki is divied into these portals, which help you navaigate around the Wiki without being confused and lost. This site trys to mantain a strict spolier policy, but be sure to read it here so you understand on what you might be getting yourself into. Also don't come to this site trying to valndlize the hard work people have put into this site. "Toasters" and their counterparts (Toasters) don't fair to well when Colonial Miltary Units have an open shot. So you have been warned!

Wiki Coverage: Present Day

We presently cover all aspects of the Battlestar Galactica series, "re-imagined" by Ronald D. Moore. You'll find (or can add) information on such items as terminology seen, events that occurred, and characters introduced & developed.

We will also furnish a complete and thorough episode guide, a la Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5, to analyze and dissect the episodes from this series. Unlike the Lurker's Guide, contributions are immediate and can be edited without the tedious process of emailing corrections and awaiting the webmaster for an update.

How to Utilize

Utilization of this Wiki is fairly straight forward.

For starters, you need a means to identify yourself. Therefore, you'll have to create a user account, which is fast, easy, and, of course, free.

Any hyperlink without an icon next to it, such as this one on the term naturalistic science fiction, leads to an entry on this website about that term. Above it, you will find a list of tabs. In this group of tabs, you'll find the "Edit" tab. Click it, and you'll be able to add, correct, or remove content. The Editing Help portion of the site will cover the essentials in editing entries, but it'll be like posting to a message board, and you'll see your results immediately.

You'll also be able to discuss the topic by clicking the "Discussion" tab. So, if you want to question on the merit of a piece of information in that entry, or spur discussion, you can do that there without including it in the "official" entry. (Thus presenting information and not back-and-forth bulletin board type commentary.)
