She is unaware of her Cylon nature and serves for two years as Lieutenant Valerii on ''[[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]]'', where she is assigned as a [[Raptor]] pilot and also engaged in a secret relationship with Chief [[Galen Tyrol|Tyrol]]. After the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|Cylon attack]], her underlying programming repeatedly emerges which leads her to unconscious acts of sabotage. Growing confusion about her true self result in a deep depression and a failed suicide attempt. After Valerii returns from a successful mission to destroy a Cylon [[basestar]], she shoots Commander [[William Adama|Adama]] in the chest, wounding him critically. Valerii is a "sleeper" agent, unsuspecting of her Cylon status. As far as she is aware, she was born on the mining colony of [[Troy]], as the daughter of a family from [[Aerelon]] ([[Flesh and Bone]]). Troy itself was destroyed in an unexplained cataclysm, allowing Valerii's background to be established as that of an orphan. Following her arrival on board ''Galactica'', she enters into a relationship with the ship's Chief Petty Officer [[Galen Tyrol]], which is against military protocols concerning fraternization between officers and non-officers. Whether this is unintentional or a subconscious reaction to her Cylon programming remains unclear.

At the time of the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|Cylon attack]], Valerii is flying her Raptor to [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]] with ''Galactica's'' last remaining operational [[Viper (RDM)|Viper]] squadron, when they learn of the attacks and attempt to engage two [[Cylon Raider]]s. However, the Viper squadron is destroyed, and the Raptor is damaged while trying to escape, forcing Valerii and her [[ECO]] [[Karl Agathon]] to make an emergency landing on [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]]. After repairing the Raptor, they are mobbed by desperate civilians and undertake a rescue operation, lifting a number of children and several adults from the planet. Agathon chooses to give up his place aboard the Raptor so that Dr. [[Gaius Baltar]] can be rescued ([[Miniseries]]).

After being found by [[Laura Roslin]]'s group of stranded military and civilian ships, Valerii works within the new civilian [[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet]], assisting Roslin's attempts to gather other stranded civilian ships in the space surrounding Caprica. She finds a number of ships critical to the fledgling Fleet's survival, such as a fuel tanker. After the new assembled Fleet, led by ''Galactica'', leaves the solar system of the Colonies, Valerii aids in other critical acts, including the discovery of a [[tylium]]-rich asteroid, replete with an active Cylon mine ([[The Hand of God (RDM)|The Hand of God]]), and locating a source of water to replenish the Fleet's lost supply after the sabotage of ''Galactica's'' stores ([[Water]]).

At the same time as she is supporting the human Fleet, Valerii's underlying Cylon subroutines periodically emerge. Her Cylon programming is the cause of the sabotage of ''Galactica's'' water tanks ([[Water]]). Later, she likely assists a copy of [[Aaron Doral]] to access a munitions store. The Doral copy constructs a suicide bomb which nearly kills Commander [[William Adama|Adama]] and Colonel [[Saul Tigh|Tigh]].

Valerii finds herself soaking wet, after she awakes to her human personality shortly after the bombs used to destroy ''Galactica's'' water tanks were planted. She becomes increasingly concerned and starts to question her true self. Her worry increases when she experiences a certain attachment to a captured [[Cylon Raider]], and is able to give insight into how it can be properly assessed and understood ([[Six Degrees of Separation]], [[Flesh and Bone]]). Her concerns are further elevated when, following the bombing by Doral, ''Galactica's'' [[Master-at-Arms]], Sergeant [[Hadrian]], suspects her and Chief [[Tyrol]] of Cylon complicity ([[Litmus]]).

Tyrol distances himself from Valerii after this incident, and he later ends their relationship following the arrest of Specialist [[Socinus]] ([[Litmus]]). Facing Tyrol's suspicions concerning her activities immediately before the bombing, Valerii finds herself emotionally isolated and stressed. She takes the Cylon detector test created by Dr. [[Gaius Baltar|Baltar]], but he hides her positive test result in fear that once discovered, she might immediately retaliate and kill him ([[Flesh and Bone]]). Valerii finds short solace in Baltar's test, but deals with an anonymous accusation, when she finds the word "Cylon" written on the mirror of her locker; though it is possible she wrote it herself, unknowingly ([[Six Degrees of Separation]]).

Frightened and alone, Valerii withdraws into herself and attempts suicide, but is initially unable to do so. During her second attempt, she is interrupted by Dr. Baltar who, rather than discouraging her, essentially gives her his blessing on her suicide. Following his departure from the bunkroom, Valerii succeeds in shooting herself, but her Cylon personality apparently interrupts the attempt. Valerii can only wound herself in her right cheek ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I]]).

After [[Kara Thrace]] absconds with a captured Cylon Raider intended for an attack on a basestar orbiting [[Kobol]], Commander Adama asks Valerii and ECO [[Margaret Edmondson|Racetrack]] to use a [[Cylon transponder]] in their Raptor to infiltrate the basestar and place a nuclear warhead within to destroy it. The mission is a success, but when the weapon would not auto-release from the Raptor after landing, Valerii exits the ship and enters the basestar. Inside, she encounters a dozen copies of herself, confirming her worst fears. Valerii escapes in the Raptor just before the warhead detonates and destroys the basestar. Back on ''Galactica'', her encounter with the other [[Number Eight|Eight]] models on the basestar apparently triggers Valerii's Cylon programming to emerge once more, and she shoots Commander Adama in the chest while being congratulated on her successful mission in [[CIC]], wounding him critically ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]]).

=== Imprisonment and death ===
After shooting [[William Adama|Adama]], Valerii is quickly restrained by guards and jailed in the [[brig]]. During her imprisonment, Colonel [[Tigh]] attempts to forcibly extract information from her at gunpoint, but Valerii stonewalls him and even asks him to shoot her ([[Scattered]]). Chief [[Galen Tyrol|Tyrol]] is later incarcerated in the same brig cell by Tigh, also suspected of being a Cylon. While imprisoned together, Valerii tries to convince Tyrol that her feelings for him were real and important, but he rejects her and threatens to kill her if she touched him.

Dr. [[Gaius Baltar|Baltar]] later enters the cell, ostensibly to collect a blood sample from Tyrol to prove his innocence using the [[Cylon detector]], but he instead injects Tyrol with a potent toxin that would kill him in a matter of seconds if Baltar does not give him an antidote. Baltar interrogates Valerii, demanding to know how many other Cylons are in the Fleet, using the dying Tyrol to blackmail her. Valerii first protests that she does not know, but as Tyrol is about to die, she reveals that there are eight other Cylons in the Fleet and Baltar then revives Tyrol.

Soon after, while being transferred to a new reinforced cell built to hold Cylons for later experiments and long term incarceration, a large crowd of crewmembers jeers at her and calls her a traitor. Specialist [[Cally]] who considers Valerii responsible for Tyrol's imprisonment breaks through the crowd holding a gun and shoots Valerii at point-blank range. Valerii's last words are "I love you, Chief" and she dies in Tyrol's arms ([[Resistance (episode)|Resistance]]).

Valerii's body is sent to the morgue and autopsied. Later, the recovered Commander Adama visits her corpse, asking "why" aloud, and weeps over her body. Adama pronounces a very mild reprimand for Cally, sentencing her to 30 days in the brig for discharging a weapon without authorization. Cally is never tried for murder, since Cylons are not seen as people ([[The Farm]]).

===Rebirth and life among Cylons===

Valerii's consciousness does not die. When she is shot by Specialist [[Cally]], ''Galactica'' is close enough to a Cylon [[Resurrection Ship|resurrection ship]] so that her consciousness is retrieved for download into another body. On rebirth, Valerii rejects her Cylon nature and continues to call herself "Sharon" instead of "Eight," even going so far as to reclaim her former apartment on Caprica. A copy of [[Number Three]], representing the status quo of the Cylons, is deeply disturbed by this and suggests that Valerii be "[[boxed]]."

[[Caprica-Six]] who is seen as a war hero among Cylons just as Valerii, protests and Three advises her to get Valerii to change. When Valerii laments the loss of Tyrol, Caprica-Six tells her about her own love for a human, [[Gaius Baltar|Baltar]], which prompts Valerii to inform her that he is still alive. Suspecting that Three has an ulterior motive and wants to box both of them, the two play along and Valerii announces her intent to move out of her old apartment. After a [[Caprica Resistance]] bombing, Valerii, Caprica-Six, and Three are trapped in a garage with a member of the human resistance, [[Samuel Anders]]. There, Caprica-Six reveals their true intentions and declares that Valerii and herself are celebrities in a culture of unity, and, through their love for humans, have realized the horror of the Cylons' actions. Using their celebrity, they could convince a large portion of the Cylon society of their new belief that the genocide of humanity was wrong. Valerii stops Anders from killing Three, but is surprised to see as Caprica-Six kills Three herself. After telling Anders to escape, Valerii agrees to help Caprica-Six reveal the truth of the genocide to the other Cylons ([[Downloaded]]).

Valerii and Caprica-Six are obviously successful in their attempt to change popular opinion among Cylons about the genocide on the human race. According to a [[Cavil]] model who is shortly incarcerated on board ''Galactica'', Valerii and Caprica-Six convinced a majority that "the slaughter of mankind was a mistake" which ultimately leads to an end of the occupation of the [[Twelve Colonies]] ([[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I]]).

One year later, Valerii is one of the leaders of the Cylon force occupying [[New Caprica]]. But as other Cylons start to consider the occupation a failure, her influence appears to decrease quickly, most evident when she is unable to help Cally get out of detention, as Cally is about to be executed ([[Precipice]]). Their initial plan on New Caprica, "to push past the conflict that separated us from humans for so long", fails and the occupation is ended after four months ([[Exodus, Part II]]).

Currently, Valerii is on the same [[baseship]] as Caprica-Six and Baltar, but for the most part was not identified seperately from other models in the Eight series. This changes later when she is part of a contingent that heads to the ''Galactica'' to to make demands regarding the [[Algae planet]] and [[the Temple of Five]]. while onboard the battlestar, Valerii encounters her "replacement" ([[Sharon Agathon]]), who identifies the [[Number Eight]] as Valerii and notifies [[Saul Tigh|Col. Tigh]], preventing her entry. The two Sharons at this time confront each other, and Agathon is initially disbelieving and mistrusting when Valerii informs her that her daughter, [[Hera]], is still alive and that if Agathon had really been accepted onboard, they never would have treated her "as a thing". ([[The Eye of Jupiter]]) Her confrontation suggests strongly that Valerii no longer identifies herself as a "human" and that she has fully accepted her nature and place amongst the Cylons.

**Number Six could have been using sexual innuendo when she rhetorically asked why Sharon Valerii's callsign was "Boomer." For example, regarding "[[Six Degrees of Separation]]," actress [[Grace Park]] said in interviews that she was so determined to make an enthusiastic lovemaking scene, i.e. copious amounts of moaning and the like, that when the scene director finished they flat out said their footage would have to be heavily edited.

:I think the idea is... "being bold" would be coming up with cool new data box/category/what have you that could go on every character page. You'd still "be bold" to go ahead an implement it for one character, to show how it would look. It would be "reckless" to go ahead an implement the new widget on every character page on the wiki without feedback. What happens if you post something here, or on the new widget's talk page, or elsewhere soliciting feedback and you don't get any? (I know that happens sometimes, and it can be frustrating.) Maybe try to actively engage some of the "regulars" on their talk page, inviting them to weigh in on a topic. Is it slower? Most definitely. However, in the process of building consensus you're bringing others "on board", investing them in the project. You'll likely have helping hands for implementing whatever gets sorted out (and it may even be exactly what you proposed). I think the main distinction falls between "implementing" the new ideas (creating the widgets, proposing formatting standards/changes, etc) and doing all the grunt work to make them happen. Energetic and active posters are vital to the health of the wiki. We just need to make sure that we use good judgement and establish consensus as to where we direct all that energy and activity. I think that a new naming convention should be in place. ''Season X DVD (Region #)'' eg ''[[Season 1 DVD (Region 1)]]'' for the American version of the first series DVD's. I think this would save a lot more confusion in the long term as some pages have information on two different sets of DVDs on one page whearas the 2.0, 2.5 and 2 have more specific information which I belive is better.

I therefor propose a new naming convention with linking pages to direct people with one page summarising all the DVD's together.

== Seaon Three Teaser Images and other artwork? ==

I don't see any images for the Season Three article. I have a whole stack of screen caps made from a relatively high-resolution version of the teaser (I think it was the largest version that got uploaded to the net). Would these be useful and/or wanted?

On a related note, could someone take a look at my user talk page and check my art links. Is there anything there in the sample artwork I've got uploaded on my website right now that would be useful for the wiki? I've actually got quite a bit more, but most of it was for building reproduction props (engraving on Adama's lighter, the Galactica press passes, the two booze bottle labels I have links to). The only other thing from my drawings that I think might be useful for the wiki might be the [http://www.retro.com/employees/lee/Blasphemy/SP/CubitCollection.html Cubit Collection]. Keep in mind that the only designs we have positive screen caps of are Caprican and Scorpian marked cubits (both silver and gold). == Question/idea ==

I'm toying an idea for some articles for the wiki.

Now, by "toying", I mean I'm incredibly busy and have other things to do but it's a topic of interest to me, which I may or may not ever get around to actually doing even if people wanted me to. I just want to be clear about that.

The premise of the show is genocide and the effects of it on the featured characters. I happen to have some expertise in the field of trauma (Ph.D. holding, licensed mental health professional with peer reviewed publications and about 15 years professional experience working with traumtized adolescents and adults.) I've been thinking about whether some historical articles on genocide, some pieces on the known psychological effects of genocide and the effects of major disasters would round out some of the more fictional aspects of the show. Given how Kara has been portrayed as the adult survivor of child abuse, maybe a piece on the effects of that would be in order.

This stuff would just be a way of rounding out the fictional elements with some factual pieces related to the series.

I'm not thinking dense academic tracts, but reader friendly overviews with appropriate academic citations.

Of course, I'm not even going to waste my time if there's no interest, which is why I'm throwing it out there.

:I think the idea is... "being bold" would be coming up with cool new data box/category/what have you that could go on every character page. You'd still "be bold" to go ahead an implement it for one character, to show how it would look. It would be "reckless" to go ahead an implement the new widget on every character page on the wiki without feedback. What happens if you post something here, or on the new widget's talk page, or elsewhere soliciting feedback and you don't get any? (I know that happens sometimes, and it can be frustrating.) Maybe try to actively engage some of the "regulars" on their talk page, inviting them to weigh in on a topic. Is it slower? Most definitely. However, in the process of building consensus you're bringing others "on board", investing them in the project. You'll likely have helping hands for implementing whatever gets sorted out (and it may even be exactly what you proposed). I think the main distinction falls between "implementing" the new ideas (creating the widgets, proposing formatting standards/changes, etc) and doing all the grunt work to make them happen. Energetic and active posters are vital to the health of the wiki. We just need to make sure that we use good judgement and establish consensus as to where we direct all that energy and activity. At the moment the DVD information pages are a little messed up and the content is confusing because they differ from America to Europe but sre still on the same pages in some cases.

I therefor propose a new naming convention with linking pages to direct people with one page summarising all the DVD's together.

I don't see any images for the Season Three article. I have a whole stack of screen caps made from a relatively high-resolution version of the teaser (I think it was the largest version that got uploaded to the net). Would these be useful and/or wanted?

On a related note, could someone take a look at my user talk page and check my art links. Is there anything there in the sample artwork I've got uploaded on my website right now that would be useful for the wiki? I've actually got quite a bit more, but most of it was for building reproduction props (engraving on Adama's lighter, the Galactica press passes, the two booze bottle labels I have links to). The only other thing from my drawings that I think might be useful for the wiki might be the [http://www.retro.com/employees/lee/Blasphemy/SP/CubitCollection.html Cubit Collection]. Keep in mind that the only designs we have positive screen caps of are Caprican and Scorpian marked cubits (both silver and gold). == Question/idea ==

I'm toying an idea for some articles for the wiki.

Now, by "toying", I mean I'm incredibly busy and have other things to do but it's a topic of interest to me, which I may or may not ever get around to actually doing even if people wanted me to. I just want to be clear about that.

The premise of the show is genocide and the effects of it on the featured characters. I happen to have some expertise in the field of trauma (Ph.D. holding, licensed mental health professional with peer reviewed publications and about 15 years professional experience working with traumtized adolescents and adults.) I've been thinking about whether some historical articles on genocide, some pieces on the known psychological effects of genocide and the effects of major disasters would round out some of the more fictional aspects of the show. Given how Kara has been portrayed as the adult survivor of child abuse, maybe a piece on the effects of that would be in order.

This stuff would just be a way of rounding out the fictional elements with some factual pieces related to the series.

I'm not thinking dense academic tracts, but reader friendly overviews with appropriate academic citations.

Of course, I'm not even going to waste my time if there's no interest, which is why I'm throwing it out there.

:I think the idea is... "being bold" would be coming up with cool new data box/category/what have you that could go on every character page. You'd still "be bold" to go ahead an implement it for one character, to show how it would look. It would be "reckless" to go ahead an implement the new widget on every character page on the wiki without feedback. What happens if you post something here, or on the new widget's talk page, or elsewhere soliciting feedback and you don't get any? (I know that happens sometimes, and it can be frustrating.) Maybe try to actively engage some of the "regulars" on their talk page, inviting them to weigh in on a topic. Is it slower? Most definitely. However, in the process of building consensus you're bringing others "on board", investing them in the project. You'll likely have helping hands for implementing whatever gets sorted out (and it may even be exactly what you proposed). I think the main distinction falls between "implementing" the new ideas (creating the widgets, proposing formatting standards/changes, etc) and doing all the grunt work to make them happen. Energetic and active posters are vital to the health of the wiki. We just need to make sure that we use good judgement and establish consensus as to where we direct all that energy and activity. At the moment the DVD information pages are a little messed up and the content is confusing because they differ from America to Europe but sre still on the same pages in some cases.
Here is a list of all the DVD pages

I think that a new naming convention should be in place. ''Season X DVD (Region #)'' eg ''[[Season 1 DVD (Region 1)]]'' for the American version of the first series DVD's. I think this would save a lot more confusion in the long term as some pages have information on two different sets of DVDs on one page whearas the 2.0, 2.5 and 2 have more specific information which I belive is better.

I therefor propose a new naming convention with linking pages to direct people with one page summarising all the DVD's together.

== Seaon Three Teaser Images and other artwork? ==

I don't see any images for the Season Three article. I have a whole stack of screen caps made from a relatively high-resolution version of the teaser (I think it was the largest version that got uploaded to the net). Would these be useful and/or wanted?

On a related note, could someone take a look at my user talk page and check my art links. Is there anything there in the sample artwork I've got uploaded on my website right now that would be useful for the wiki? I've actually got quite a bit more, but most of it was for building reproduction props (engraving on Adama's lighter, the Galactica press passes, the two booze bottle labels I have links to). The only other thing from my drawings that I think might be useful for the wiki might be the [http://www.retro.com/employees/lee/Blasphemy/SP/CubitCollection.html Cubit Collection]. Keep in mind that the only designs we have positive screen caps of are Caprican and Scorpian marked cubits (both silver and gold). == Question/idea ==

I'm toying an idea for some articles for the wiki.

Now, by "toying", I mean I'm incredibly busy and have other things to do but it's a topic of interest to me, which I may or may not ever get around to actually doing even if people wanted me to. I just want to be clear about that.

The premise of the show is genocide and the effects of it on the featured characters. I happen to have some expertise in the field of trauma (Ph.D. holding, licensed mental health professional with peer reviewed publications and about 15 years professional experience working with traumtized adolescents and adults.) I've been thinking about whether some historical articles on genocide, some pieces on the known psychological effects of genocide and the effects of major disasters would round out some of the more fictional aspects of the show. Given how Kara has been portrayed as the adult survivor of child abuse, maybe a piece on the effects of that would be in order.

This stuff would just be a way of rounding out the fictional elements with some factual pieces related to the series.

I'm not thinking dense academic tracts, but reader friendly overviews with appropriate academic citations.

Of course, I'm not even going to waste my time if there's no interest, which is why I'm throwing it out there.

==Squadron numbers==
How many Vipers are in a "squadron" in the terminology used by the Colonial Fleet? I ask because in "[[Scar]]" Roslin said they were getting enough metal ore to build "two squadrons" of Vipers. Is a squadron 10? 12? 20? If a squadron is 20, this would be a dramatic increase.

While I'm on the subject, we've ''speculated'' that based on this dialogue, [[Mercury class battlestar]]s have some sort of limited Viper production facilities but the exact nature of such facilities eludes us.--->Another problem has come up regarding information from ''Battlestar Galactica Magazine'': it's information isn't always quite accurate and when I asked Ron (via Mrs.Ron) on the messageboards, he said they aren't directly affiliated with the magazine in any way, so I don't know how this fits--> in issue #3, they say:

How many Vipers is Galactica capable of carrying (that is, during its prime when it was a new ship in the Cylon War, how many Vipers is it meant to support?): How many can a Mercury-class Battlestar like ''Pegasus'' hold? --->Based on these magazine numbers, there should only have been 6-8 at most Raptors on Galactica (during it's prime, so by the time of the Cylon attack probably less): In "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I]]" we see 20 Raptors jump to Caprica; Pegasus probably had an equal number of Raptors on board, but where did so many Raptors come from? Can Pegasus construct Raptors just like Vipers? Or (my explanation), are there just many refugee Raptors which escaped to Ragnar, because they've got their own FTL drives? I mean Boomer escaped all the way from Caprica to Ragnar, and Crashdown was stated as being a refugee from another ship, so presumably a few other Raptors made it out (well, that's our assumption. ==Cylon Homeworld==
I've listened to the Writer's room podcasts on Scifi.com so I understand that exact details about the [[Cylon homeworld]] are very much a work in progress (For all we know it's just a bunch of Tylium-rich asteroids lashed together), but I've got a question about its location which was brought up in season one: In "[[The Hand of God (RDM)|The Hand of God]]", the following exchange takes place between Apollo and Gaeta:

:Gaeta: "They'd build a refinery this far from their homeworld?"
:Apollo: "Why not? They need fuel out here just as much as we do"

Judging from this dialogue, do the Colonials actually know where the Cylon Homeworld is? Roughly speaking at least? I mean they may have never set foot on it or seen it, but do they have a general idea of where it is? If ''Galactica'' has fled into deep space, far from the Twelve Colonies, and while in this same deep space location Gaeta said that they were ''also'' very far away from the Cylon Homeworld, does this mean the Cylon Homeworld is relatively close to the Twelve Colonies? I would assume so; that when they left the Twelve Colonies at the end of the Cylon War they didn't travel half way across the galaxy, but went somewhere relatively near.

: We assume Armistice Station was built near a border that we promised not to cross as part of the cease-fire terms. Space is BIG. The Cylons vanished beyond these borders. Gaeta and Apollo are probably using Armistice Station as a house number for where that home world might be -- and that's a long way from where they are at the time of Hand of God. So either the Cylons have to truck their fuel all the way out, or they live off local resources they've found in this section of space they've guessed the resource-poor Colonials may try to exploit. To what extent does the writing staff keep track of the fleet's limited resources? Ronald Moore has identified the disregard that ''Star Trek: Voyager'' showed to resource issues to be one of his pet peeves with the series, and I'm curious to what extent the BSG staff try to address this. Notably,

*Although survivor count figures throughout both seasons are broadly consistant, the off-screen casualties sustained in several second-season combat situations seems suspiciously small. The opening credit survivor count reveals that 11 people are killed offscreen during the boarding action in "[[Valley of Darkness]]", 4 in the [[Battle of the Resurrection Ship]], and none during "[[The Captain's Hand]]".

::Two ways to look at this: 1) The casualties aren't updated on Laura's board in as timely a fashion as she'd like (so they were factored in later). OR 2) We screwed up. The messageboards were in an uproar, and apparently, Joe (owner of BattlestarWiki) e-mailed the post production office and showed them our [[Timeline (RDM)|Timeline]] article, showing how it was a clear mix up in post: They sent us an e-mail ''back'' saying that it would be fixed in the Season 2.5 DVD and all subsequent international airings: Fans in the UK have confirmed to us that when "Downloaded" premiered in the UK, the sign was changed to "10 weeks ''later''".----->However, what we've dubbed the "season 2.5 timeline discontinuity" is different from that, but I think it's more something we're waiting for Ron to explain in his Scifi.com blog. --->Basically, there was a jump in time of about 2-3 months between "Pegasus" and "Res Ship I", which we've been trying to explain but can't: All dates ''within'' season 2.5 are consistent with each other, but not with the earlier half of season 2. That is, we worked out that "Pegasus" must take place around three months post-attack, but then in "Res Ship I" Admiral Cain said "Six month" had passed since the attack: at first we thought it was a random dialogue error, at first, but then the rest of Season 2.5 consistently used this, i.e. in "Downloaded" [[Hera]] is born 9 months after the Cylon attack (one month premature, as she was conceived on Day 24). The reason we encountered the "season 2 timeline discontinuity" is that there are a few things that are not really reconcilable, which are:
::::A) Caprica-Sharon is not visibly pregnant in "Pegasus" while wearing a tight tank top, but by "Epiphanies" (at most, two weeks later) she is visibly into her second trimester. Her "Pegasus" appearance fits our initial "three months" dating, while her "Epiphanies" appearance appears to have fast fowarded three months.
::::B) The Presidential elections are stated to take place Nine months after the Cylon attack, however in "[[Bastille Day]]" Apollo said they'd take place in Seven months, and one month later in "[[Colonial Day]]" they said they would take place in Six month (so season 1 consistently says they're 7 months post-attack). ***Ron himself actually says in the LDYB I podcast, "we said in "Bastille Day" that elections were due in Nine months", so we think not even Ron noticed this.
::::C) The last point is a bit complicated, but follows our detailed Timeline: the last firm date we got from the Helo-on-Caprica ticker was that season 2 begins Two months after the attack. Scattered through Fragged span a day or two, then Resistance (ground team wasn't on Kobol very long). In "Resistance", Cally killed ''Galactica''-Sharon and was sent to the brig for 30 days as a result. Cally gets out in "Flight of the Phoenix". --->Colonel Tigh was in command of ''Galatica'' for less than two weeks, more probably one, a command which ended in "Resistance" when Adama returned. Anyway, in FotP Roslin is told she has one month at the ''most'' to live. That means at most one month passes between this scene and "Epiphanies", when she's dying. --->It is stated that "weeks" pass during FotP while Tyrol builds the Blackbird, and this is actually the episode which includes the longest amount of time from beginning to end; we assumed it took maybe 2, but it could have taken many weeks. In any event, we figured out that Flight of the Phoenix ''starts'' about two and a half months after the attack, a lot of time passes during the episode, and by the ''end'', Roslin has one month to live. "Epiphanies" states it took place Six months post-attack, subtracting one month for Roslin life expectancy, the end of Flight of the Phoenix would have to be at Five months poast attack....which would mean that during the episode, 2 months pass while Tyrol builds the Blackbird (which would be a lot given that all of season 1 lasted just two months).
:::Actually, Tyrol could conceivably have spent that long building the Blackbird, Caprica-Sharon's gestation could have just been really fast because she's a Cylon, and some Canadian viewers have pointed out to us that when an election "is called" in a Parliamentary system isn't the same as when the actual voting is held, and that in like Canada and the UK 2 months can pass after an eleciton "starts" and the voting, which could explain all of this (although Ron states in the podcast that as he remembers it, Bastille Day actually just said "Nine").------->We actually don't want to split hairs and be the Comic Book Guy pointing out how in a Xena episode, in one frame she's riding a winged Andalusian horse, while in the next shot she's riding a winged Arabian, and surely we must demand explanation: (this is from a Simpsons episode guest starring Lucy Lawless in which she appears as herself at a convention, and her answer is: "Every time something like that happens, a wizard did it. Wizard!" In "[[Valley of Darkness]]", the boarding-party Centurions can only be destroyed with exploding rounds, but in every episode before or after that (like Home, Part I) we've seen them destroyed with regular bullets--->Do different Centurions have heavier armor than others? I mean it would be logical that a boarding-party Centurion would be expected to see heavy combat, and would thus have more armor. ==Guns nomenlature==
(BTW, thank you for taking the time to read all of these.): A matter which has come up is what to refer to the guns in BSG as. That is, on Star Trek we'd have an article title "Phasers", and have subsectios talking about ship-mounted phasers and various models of hand phasers. On BSG, are the ship-mounted guns railguns, officially? Do Cylon Basestars have gun batteries like Battlestars? In our own analysis, we thought they didn't (except for missiles) and that while both Battlestars and Basestars are Carrier/Battleship hybrids, a Battlestar is more battleship than a basestar and a basestar leans more towards carrier: that they rely on sheer weight of numbers and hundreds upon hundreds of Raiders, at the expense of having no room left over for railgun batteries (so if you lure the hundreds of Raiders away, they're at a disadvantage to Battlestars, as in the [[Battle of the Resurrection Ship]]). ---->Meanwhile, like I said in Trek we'd have an article for "hand phasers", but on BSG we've just got "guns". And for Vipers, what do Vipers have? ---->My point is, we've been using the term "[[Kinetic Energy Weapon]]s" for the name of an article on all of this, but we're not sure if this is in anyway what the show itself uses. This many seem like a minor point, I know, but after we started using "KEW", simply as a term of convenience on the Viper articles and such...other fansites and messageboards I've seen read ''BattlestarWiki'' and I think they assume it's an official term. ==Human sacrifice==
I've been wondering about this for some time: in "[[Valley of Darkness]]", Number Six shows Baltar a pile of old human skulls on the surface of [[Kobol]], and tells him that human sacrifices used to be performed on Kobol, and the [[Sacred Scrolls]] are really just a bunch of lies to cover up the brutality of humanity's past. --->Should this scene be taken at face value? That is, did this entire scene "actually" happen, were there actually skulls there, or did all of this occurr as a Number Six induced manipulation inside of Baltar's head, to manipulate him and turn him more and more against humanity? --->Or (of course), is this one of those "we intentionally wanted the audience to be confused as to whether that scene was "real" or not, and it's still an open question with no answer" things? ---->Or, another possibility, were the skulls themselves there, but Number Six was just lying about them? I mean just by looking at them (assuming they were actually real) Baltar couldn't confirm Number Six's statements that they were the result of human sacrifice rituals: they could have been just bones lying around from some old war or cataclysm. I've noticed that the Colonial Vipers don't seem to be equipped with any type of Heads-Up Display (HUD) or any such device. I was wondering if this was a design feature of the Vipers or if it was born simply as a way to reduce the number of VFX elements in a cockpit shot. == FTL and the cylons ==

What is the range of Galactica's FTL engines? I have read some were that it is 30 light years. If this si true then it means that the fleet would have jumped around 7500 light years due to all the jumps they made in '33'. So were in the galaxy are they?

Also in the show the Cylons are divided into two types. Skin jobs and Centurions. The thing is that the Cylons say that they are better than humans but they are making the same mistake the colonies made made. I say this because Ron Moore has said that the Centurions are not sentient and so are treated as expanderble, like the first cylons were treated by the Colonies. So will we ever see the Centurions rise up against there flesh and blood counter parts. {{unsigned|Viper1982}}

*I have always speculated (pure speculation) that there is NO "range" on FTL engines ''in theory''...but there is an "effective" range of ''practicality'': That is, based on Admiral Cain's order for a [[blind jump]] and the way they talk more about "plotting coordinates at such a distance" (as Ragnar) than engine range, I always ''assumed'' that an FTL Jump can take you ''anywhere'' in the universe, but "it ain't like dusting crops", and if you just go without safe coordinates, you could easily wind up in a star or planet, so it's too unsafe to use. The Cylons have better computers than the Colonials, and thus are able to plot safe jumps along longer distances in their Nav computers, that's why they can jump back to Caprica relatively easily compared to the Colonials. Theoretically (This is my longstanding *assumption*, is it correct?)
