* Starbuck is captured by the Cylons while the fleet continues through the mysterious black void to a fateful rendezvous with the planet Kobol that may hold the secret to the lost thirteeneth tribe. But a deadly suprise awaits them on the planet surface.

* The fleet continues through the black void Adama orders the fleet to keep in visual contact with the Galactica through the void.

* Apollo and Starbuck visit Boomer in the Life Station and Boomer says thank you.

* Tigh and Adama talk about the void. Adama mentions to Tigh a passage from the Book of The Word about the void and mentions his medallion that is the symbol of Adama's power and of their religion.

* The female warriors gather in the Officer's lounge to discuss their mission. Apollo and Starbuck feel left out and been discussing domestic duties. Serena notices the two carrying on and asks if they are feeling left out. Apollo sarcastically says they aren't.

* Tigh notifies Adama of a blip on the scanner in quadrant Delta Nine, behind the fleet. Adama sees it and orders a patrol to investigate. The blip is a Cylon Raider awaiting a patrol so they can capture a colonial warrior.

* Tigh pulls Apollo and Starbuck for the mission and Serena informs them that she is Apollo's wingman much to Apollo and Tigh's surprise. Starbuck wishes them well but instead of heading back to quarters he heads for the launch bay followed shortly by Apollo and Serena. Starbuck launches in Apollo's viper stating to the fligh deck officer that he took Apollo's patrol for him. Apollo and Serena launch shortly after. Apollo orders Serena back to the Galactica and she refuses. The three venture out, Starbuck ends up going beyond Apollo and Serena's scanner range and is captured by the Cylons.

* On board the base star Starbuck interacts with Lucifer and lights a match on a Cylon Centurion for his fumerallo. Lucifer playfully warns Starbuck it would go well for him if he showed a little respect. Starbuck to his suprise meets Baltar and Baltar informs him that he is there is a change in the Cylon Empire favourable to humans and is there as an envoy of peace and will release Starbuck at the right moment. Lucifer and Baltar disuss Baltar's scheme to lure the humans into his trap.

* Back on board the Galactica Apollo watches the scanners for Starbuck. Serena comforts him and says they should not wait any longer and get sealed and says that Starbuck would understand and approve.

* Adama performs the ceremony, Boxey as the protector gives Serena away. During the ceremony a bright star appears and Adama orders Tigh to scan for a planet in orbit. Apollo asks Adama what it could be and Adama says it could be the planet Kobol.

*Receiving a mysterious radio signal possibly from Earth, Adama and the crew are wary of a Cylon trap, and decide to turn the tables by attacking the Cylons with a stolen Cylon Raider. Apollo and Starbuck, in the series finale's last scene, narrowly miss receiving Apollo-11 moon-landing transmissions from Earth.

*Boomer speculated that the signal they recorded could have been on a harmonic frequency, doubling or quadrupling the original frequency. If it was a harmonic it came from nearby. The planetary system they scouted had a large Jupiter like gas giant, a Venus like planet with a compressed carbon dioxide atmosphere, and a lifeless red Mars like world. It could have been our solar system but wasn't explored further for fear another Cylon basestar might be coming to investigate.
*Baltar was to have been marooned on a planet capable of sustaining life with rations and a short range transmitter. Were the Cylons to have rescued him so he could resume command of a basestar in season two?

* If and when the Galactica had reached Earth (No Galactica 1980) it would be easy to speculate that the Earth would indeed be far enough long tecnologically and politcally to help their brothers from the Colonies since the transmission received came from the Earth time of July 10th, 1969. Enough time would have passed given the theories of time and space that indeed the Earth would have matured. It would have been interesting if Glen Larson was intending his two Sci-Fi series (Galactica and Buck Rogers) to merge together somewhere down the road.

* Some open ended questions were left. What was the true fate of Baltar? Where was Apollo and Sheba's relationship going? Would Starbuck and Cassiopea take the seal? It's really a shame the series was ended at this point as alot of interesting plot developments were beginning.

== Analysis ==

* Overall a very good episode and it seemed to show from this episode that the series was beginning to finally come together, relationships were being developed and cemented, characters were coming into their own and future plot lines were beginning to take shape that would have given the series life.

* Had the series been done in the 90's along with other shows like Star Trek:TNG and Babylon 5, etc. the show probably would have lasted five or more seasons and it would have been a well rounded television show with great characters and stories.

* It would be nice to have an updated tele-movie or even a series of direct to DVD releases to give this franchise a proper send-off. Richard Hatch's novels are a great continuation of TOS even if there are some slight plot errors (such as Rigel being male) and his self made promo video for the contiuation of the series are all nice teasers and fillers. But a true movie or mini-series should be made to wrap things up. There is room for both Galactica's.

Again the question arises about how many Battlestars there actually were and how big the Colonial Fleet actually was. It doesn't seem fitting that only five battlestars existed in all of the colonies. The mention of the Battlestar Rycon would seem to suggest that there were different fleets of battlestars. If the series had gone on to future seasons maybe the Galactica would be re-united with other Battlestars from the colonies or we would find out the fate of other fleets and "ships of the line"

The Living Legend, Part I

== Overview ==

The ''Galactica'' is reunited with the ''Pegasus'', a sister battlestar previously thought destroyed. Led by the legendary and sometimes arrogant Commander Cain, the fleet is torn in its loyalty between Adama and Cain, but they eventually join forces in a daring attack on the Cylons.
 

== Summary ==

The episode opens with Apollo and Starbuck being pursued by unidentifed objects from behind them in the heart of the Delphian Empire. The two objects are none other then two other Colonial Vipers flown by Lieutenant Sheba (Anne Lockhart), and Lietuetenant Bojay (Jack Stauffer). Just as Sheba and Bojay are about to finish off Apollo and Strabuck Sheba's scanner shows that the occupant of the viper she is pursuing is Human and orders a cease fire. In the ensuing dialogue Apollo and Starbuck are informed that Sheba is strike leader of Silver Spar Squadron and are re-united with Bojay who was part of Galactica's Blue Squadron before he was transferred to the fifth fleet that perished at the battle of Molocay, two yarhnes previous. Sheba and Bojay escort a bewildered Apollo and Starbuck aboard the Pegasus in Command of the Legendary Commander Cain.

Meanwhile on-board the Galactica Flight Seargent Jolly reports to Commander Adama that the fleet is low on fuel and Colonel Tigh reports that there is what appears to be scans of something massive, the size of a Cylon City not too far off. Adama orders the fleet to dead stop while awaiting word on the fate of Apollo and Starbuck's patrol.

Apollo and Starbuck are re-united with warriors aboard the Pegasus and are informed that Cain pulled the Pegasus out into Deep Space after the Battle of Molocay and that they have been fighting the Cylons and using fuel and weapons from the Cylons to fuel their own personal war efeffort. Colonel Tolan, Cain's second in Command takes Apollo and Starbuck to Cain's quarters and they are re-united with the Living Legend and inform Cain of the fate of the Colonies and off the 220 ship rag-tag fleet. Cain now with information of The Galactica surviving the war declares that the Cylon Empire is about to fall as he plans to mount an offensive.

Aboard the Galactica, Athena informs Adama and Colonel Tigh that there is a visual echo coming from the scans ahead. The echo shows a Battlestar. Omega then informs Adama of a message coming over Fleet Com-Line Alpha which is only used between war ships, so Adama feels the message is a hoax. Cain appears on the monitor and informs, much to the delight of Adama that he will be aboard shortly.

Cain boards the Galactica and re-unites Adama with Apollo and Starbuck and informs Adama that The Cylons now control Gamoray, a society once thriving with 50 million people. Which means the Cylons now control power over half the Galaxy. Cain had been doing strike runs on Gamoray for fuel to fund his war campaign but could not figure out why they didn't send basestars to finish him off, his answer was now clear, the renegade traffic the Cylons were having problems with was the Galactica and her fleet. Cain tries to get Adama to side with him in an effort to conquer the Cylons on Gamoray. But Adam declines citing the safety of the fleet as her main priority.

Back on board the Pegasus, Cain meets with Starbuck and Apollo and asks about a woman he once knew before the war. It turns out the woman was Cassiopea the woman Starbuck is involved with. Cain then introdcues the two to Sheba, his daughter who intercepted Apollo and Starbuck.

After the meeting Apollo asks Starbuck what he plans to tell Cassiopea about Cain being alive. Starbuck pretty much brushes any suggestion of her being romantically interested in Cain again, but meets with her and informs her of Cain being alive. She leaves to find Cain and is quickly re-united with him aboard the Pegasus. They share a tender embrace and reminice and Cassipoea tells Cain about her relationship with Starbuck. She asks Cain for time for her to think. Back aboard the Galactica Apollo asks Starbuck how Cassiopea took the news and for the first time we find some background into Starbuck's character as we find out that he doesn't form deep attachments to people after being raised on his own. Boxey puts in his two cents in and says that Starbuck still has a bunch of other woman in waiting for him.

Back on the Pegasus Cain and Cassiopea talk about Sheba and how the relationship may cause issues between Cain and his daughter. Meanwhile in the warrior lounge Apollo and Starbuck meet with warriors from Silver Spar Squadron and Sheba and Apollo butt heads over the military differnces between Adama and Cain. Cain enters the lounge with Cassiopea and Sheba leaves, very uncomfortable with seeing her. Apollo confronts Sheba about it and Sheba says that working with Apollo won't be a problem.

A meeting of Commanders is conveined and a plan is made to interecept Cylon Tankers to provide fuel for the fleet. Adama proposes to use a squadron from both Battlestars, Cain declines at first and Adama informs him of the need for the warriors to integrate for the boost of morale. Cain agrees saying that his warriors would be glad to pass along their expeirence to the Galactica Warriors. Apollo is surprised by Cain's arrogance and tells Adama the people think highly of him as a Commander.

During pre-launch, Cain joins the mission to the suprise of Sheba. During the mission they are interecepted by a Cylon Patrol. Blue Squadron almost seems at the mercy of the Cylons until Silver Spar Squadron helps out. Cain orders Blue Squadron to pursue while he goes off to take care of the tankers. Cain destroys the tankers and tells a dis-believing Apollo that he was firing at a cylon fighter. Back on board the Galactica Cain maintains his story during a meeting with Adama, Apollo and Sheba and also cites the in-experience of Blue Squadron. Cain now pushes the campaign against Gamoray to Adama and Adama tells Cain, rather tersley, that he will give his answer in the morning. Apollo knows the truth but can't speak it and confronts Sheba. When cornered Sheba maintains that the tankers were hit by incidental fire and Apollo tells her that he had found a weakness or two.

Another war meeting is conviened and Cain pushes harder for a total victory at Gamoray. Adama again delcines citing too many losses of life. Adama offers an alternative; The Pegasus is carrying a full fuel load and Adama wishes to divide that load amongst the fleet. Cain still feels a victory is possible. Adama is still not interested and orders the fuel to be distributed. Cain declines this offer and Adama relieves Cain of his Command.

Aboard the Pegasus Sheba and Bojay speak with Cain about going against Adama's orders and Cain refuses citing that he may be a stubborn warrior but he is the best one and won't leave the fleet defenceless.

Aboard Baltar's basestar Lucifer informs Baltar of the finding of the trailing vessles of the Colonial Fleet. Baltar tells Lucifer to prepare of an attack to finally finish off the Galactica for good without support from Gamoray. All Baltar wants is a celebration from Gamoray and to take command of Gamoray for himself. Lucifer questions this plan and Baltar tells Lucifer that there are other I-L series robots that will gladly be at his side after the victory. Baltar then offers to accompany the strike force to punctuate his point of victory much to Lucifer's surprise.

Meanwhile on board the Pegasus, Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer and Jolly board the Pegasus for the fuel distribution. Tolan and Tigh confer on the Pegasus bridge and Tolan wonders if they should wait until the bad moods on board the Pegasus from the warriors over the treatment of Cain calm down a bit, Tigh disagrees and orders the transfers to begin. On the Pegasus Landing Bay, the Galactica warriors are met by resistance from Silver Spar Squadron. Just as it looks they are about to come to blows a red alert is sounded and an attack begins by the Cylons.

On the Galactica Bridge Cain and Adama meet and Adama and Cain agree to pull out the Pegasus and put her between the Cylon Task force (the biggest one since the Destruciton of the Colonies).

Cain flies his viper back to the Pegasus and lets Tolan and Tigh know he is taking back command of the Pegasus. The Pegasus crew cheers and Tolan informs Tigh is nothing personal. Tigh understands and says "How can you fight a living legend?"

The Galactica takes heavy damage to her Alpha landing bay and just as it seems the Cylons are going to have their victory and Baltar declares the Galactica is finished, his Cylon pilot informs Baltar of the second Battlestar. Baltar doesn't beleive this and the Cylon again says that there is a second Battlestar. Baltar looks to his right and sees the Pegasus and orders his pilot to turn.

This is the first appearance of Lloyd Bridges as Commander Cain, Anne Lockhart as Sheba and Jack Stauffer as Bojay.

In the episode "War of The Gods" Jack Stauffer returns as Bojay in command of Galactica's new Silver Spar Squardron.

This is the first mention of more then just one fleet in the Colonial Military. In the pilot there appeared to be only one main fleet. The Pegasus was part of the Fifth Fleet.

Sheba was introduced as a new love interest for Apollo and their relationship was to delelop over the course of the series had it continued into more seasons.

Commander Cain and The Pegasus were also slated to return in future episodes had the show not been cancelled.

== Overview ==

Part One:

As Serina and Apollo celebrate their engagement several warriors aboard the Galactica are stricken with a mysterious virus that threatens to wipe them all out. Meanwhile a mysterious black void causes more alarm for the fleet and Adama must now rely on the training of inexepeirenced shuttle pilots to take the place of the stricken colonial warriors.

== Summary ==

With many warriors suffering from an unknown ailment, the ''Galactica'' recruits new viper pilots—mostly young women, including [[Apollo (TOS)|Apollo's]] new bride, [[Serena]]. Led by Adama's spiritual interpretations, the fleet enters a vast magnetic void, emerging at the planet [[Kobol (TOS)|Kobol]], their legendary homeworld. Before Adama can discover Earth's location from the inscribed hieroglyphs, though, a Cylon attack destroys the sacred city on Kobol—and claims the life of Serena.

Episode Summary

* The episode begins on board the Galactica. Adama, Apollo, Serena, Boxey, Starbuck and Athena are all enjoying a meal prepared by Athena. Adama drops hints that Serina would makes some young man happy and that they have been waiting sometime for a major announcement by Apollo. Apollo finally announces that he and Serena are to be married if Boxey approves. Everyone celebrates and Athena looks at Starbuck longingly. Starbuck quickly gets up from the dinner and leaves stating he has as best man he has to prepare for the grooms send off.

* Boomer and Jolly prepare for their patrol and as they wait for launch clearance Starbuck and Apollo reminice in the launch bay. Starbuck feels that Apollo's marriage is an end of the closeness of their friendship, Apollo is touched by Starbuck's devotion of friendship.

* Boomer and Jolly launch on their patrol, soon followed by Starbuck and Apollo.

* Meanwhile on board the Cylon base star Baltar stay of execution is lifted and he is spared and given command of a base star and introduced to an IL-Series Drone, Lucifer, as his second-in-command.

* Starbuck continues to reminice with Apollo on their patrol and they come across a black void. Apollo ventures out to investigate the void much to Stabucks chragrin. Starbuck keeps track of Apollo so they won't get lost.

* On board the Galactica Greenbean shows up with victuls for the party and security enters questioning where the supplies came from. Colonel Tigh enters and says that he is responsible for the supplies being in the Warriors Lounge. Tigh jokingly remprimends Greenbean for lifting rations and orders the party be in full swing before Apollo returns.

* Starbuck continues to track Apollo through the void as Apollo ventures deeper into the void. He fires a round of lasers so Apollo can find him and Apollo does. Apollo follows Starbuck out of the void and the two head back to the Galactica Apollo owing Starbuck a fumarillo.

* Boomer and Jolly land on a asteroid in the Otarsis sector and Boomer notices some pods. At first Jolly can't see them and Boomer points them out. Boomer reminds Jolly that if they miss any one of these outposts they'll never know what hit them. They hide as a Cylon patrol launches from the pods and after the ships veer away from the direction of the fleet Boomer and Jolly quickly leave to warn the Galactica.

* On board Baltar's base star Lucifer reports that they spotted the patrol at the listening outpost and follow the route to the Galactica. Lucifer says they will take them by suprise. Baltar reminds him of the defeat at Carillon and tells Lucifer to keep the Galactica just beyond their detection range as he forumulates a plan.

* Adam orders Boomer and Jolly's patrol in. As Boomer follows Jolly in he notices Jolly not flying properly and tells him to steady up. Jolly appears feverish but manages to land. Boomer makes his report to Adama about the outpost and Adama asks Tigh to change course that will eventually take them into the void.

* Boomer skips decontamination and heads to the party. Boomer falters and Giles tells him to quit clowning around since Tigh is watching. Tigh warns them that if they are going to get falling down drunk then he will send them back to quarters. Boomer almost passes out from his fever.

* In the medical bay Doctor Salika and Cassiopea look over Jolly and he is alomst in a coma. Due to his condition they put him in a cryo-support chamber.

* Apollo and Starbuck return from patrol and go to de-con. Meanwhile on the bridge Salik reports to Adama the nature of Jolly's illness. Adama orders security to quartine everyone who has been in contact with Jolly and Boomer. As Apollo and Starbuck approach the Warrior's lounge Salik and Adama stop them just in time and orders the other warriors back in and Salik orders them quarantined.

* Apollo makes his report on the void to Adama and Tigh. Adama is distracted by mention of the void and goes to his quarters to think about this news. He apprantly knows something that Tigh and Apollo don't.

* Apollo returns to his quarters and talks with Boxey. Boxey won't tell Apollo what Serena has planned. Apollo enters and sees Serena in her flight uniform. He find out she has been training as a shuttle cadet and she has finished her first solo. Boxey leaves so Serena and Apollo can argue. Apollo mentions about how dangerous being a pilot is including a shuttle pilot. Serena reminds Apollo that Athena is a pilot and a warrior. They both mention how dangerous the others job is and about the losses suffered on Carillon. Apollo finally relents and asks her if she is any good and Serena says she is top of her class and Apollo says she better be since she is going to be married to the squadron commander.

* Salik reports another warrior has gone critical. Adama reports to Salik on the warriors condition and Salik tells Adama of the cryo-containers. Adama stresses the importance of the warriors and Salik tells Adama that his main concern right now is keeping them alive.

* Adam reads a journal in his quarters about the days of Kobol and the magnetic void. Apollo enters and Adama gives him a roster of colonists who are deemed experienced enough to be combat trained. Apollo is shocked at this revelation. Adama stands his ground and sends Apollo on his way with his orders to train the new pilots. Apollo asks Adama to read the names on the roster Adama does and notices Serena name.

* Apollo and Starbuck begin the female shuttle pilots training to Viper pilots. Serena flirts with Apollo during the training.

* Cassiopea reports on another unit going critical. Salik goes to the bridge to asks Adama for a shuttle to go the asteroid where Boomer and Jolly were to find the source of the infection. Faced with the great loss of warriors Adama now has no choice but to get the very green viper pilots who are still in simulators ready for the mission. Adama orders Salik to get his team ready.

* In training Athena is in the simulator and as she destroys a Cylon she also inadvertanly kills Starbuck. The training is interrupted when Apollo is called to the bridge.

* On the bridge Adama asks the status of the pilots. Adama then tells Apollo that there is no choice now but to launch the new warriors on the mission to the asteroid. Apollo reminds Adama that the pilots will be throwing thier lives if they go on this mission. Adama weighs the odds but still elects to have the mission proceed much to Apollo's amazement.

* Apollo and Starbuck launch their vipers first followed by the new Blue Squadron pilots. The launch goes off without an issue except for Brie who has difficulty getting control of her viper after launch, but she does and Rigel announces the succesful launch of Blue Squadron.

* On board Baltar's ship Lucifer reports to Baltar that they have overtaken the Galactica and that the Galactica is turning into the void. Baltar requests that they capture one of the warriors during their patrols. Lucifer leaves happy in Baltar's deviousness.

* The warriors continue on their mission. Apollo goes ahead to the asteroid to destroy the outpost while Starbuck stays behind with the new warriors. Brie reports on objects coming from behind and Starbuck notices that it's a Cylon freighter. Athena follows Starbuck as his wingman. Starbuck allows Athena to follow but tells her "for saken sake, don't shoot me". The Cylons warn the outpost and they launch fighters to intercept. The new warriors engage the Cylons to help Apollo after Apollo tells thme not to. The new warriors succesfully thrwart off the Cylons while Apollo successfuly destroys the listening post. With the mission a success the medical shuttle lands and finds the source of the infection.

* Adama orders the fleet to probe speed, Tigh can't beleive they are going into the void. Adama tells him they have no choice since the outpost has now alerted other Cylons.

* Lucifer reports to Baltar on the destruction of the outpost and Baltar is confused since there is nothing of value on the post to begin with. Lucifer reports on the erratic flight patterns of the Colonial Warriors. Baltar warns Lucifer not to fence with him, he then orders Lucifer to capture one of the patrol ships.

== Questions ==

* Apollo asks Serina if she knows how many shuttle pilots were lost on Carillon. She replies many civilians were lost too. The implications are the number civilians and Colonial Warriors killed when the planet was destroyed may have been high. An exact figure is never stated.

== Analysis ==



* Overall this is a good beginning to the series. It gives some background information on the Colonists regligon when Adama reads about Kobol and the black void and ties the pilot movie by mentioning the battle of Carillon a couple of times and Baltar's new role in the series.

== Notes ==



* Adama's age is given to be around 130 years old in this episode. When talking to Serena about what a catch she'd be he mentions that if he were a 100 yahrnes younger...

* The scene with Baltar and Imperious Leader is altered somehwhat from the epilouge in the pilot episode. In the original Epilouge the Imperious Leader had mentioned how The Cylons were onimipitant and wanted to extend the hand of peace. In the scene during this episode it is shortened to have Baltar just go in search of the humans.

* In the original movie Baltar was indeed be-headed in front of the Imperious leader but the scene was altered when it was realized that the series was being picked-up so the producers wanted John Colicos to return as Baltar so they re-edited the scene in the pilot to have Baltar removed and added the Epilouge and then altered the scene further in this episode.

* On the deleted scene in the DVD box set there is a scene with Serina piloting a shuttle and making her first landing. There is dialouge in the aired episode from Boomer to Jolly about this landing.

* Several of the female warriors would again be shown in future episodes during battle scenes. Brie would return in "War of The Gods" when her and Greenbean are captured by The Ship of Lights.

* The character of Serena was originally to be given a larger role in the series. In the pilot there were scenes shot where she met with a doctor and her illness was dis-closed, some sort of radiation/cancer like ailement due to the bombing runs by The Cylons on Caprica. This was to have played out during the series run, but when Jane Seymour elected not to return for the entire series her character was killed off.

* During the preview of the episode there is a scene showing Starbuck instructing the female warriors but this scene is not included in the episode as aired or on the deleted scenes on the DVD.

* It is explained that the brown jumpsuits worn underneath the warriors uniforms help in counteracting the G-Forces endured when flying a Viper.

* There was a scene shot in The Life Centre with Cassipoea and Apollo explaining Cassiopea's character changing from a Socialator to Med Tech. She mentions to Apollo that one good thing came out of the destruction of the colonies people were given a chance to start anew.

* The opening prolouge is changed from that of the feature film/pilot. Gone is the mention of the lost civilizations of Lemuria and Atlantis. The dialouge is shortned and the end tag is changed to "who even now fight to survive, somehwere beyond the heavens"

In the original Epilouge the Imperious Leader had mentioned how The Cylons were onimipitant and wanted to extend the hand of peace. In the scene during this episode it is shortened to have Baltar just go in search of the humans.

* In the original movie Baltar was indeed be-headed in front of the Imperious leader but the scene was altered when it was realized that the series was being picked-up so the producers wanted John Colicos to return as Baltar so they re-edited the scene in the pilot to have Baltar removed and added the Epilouge and then altered the scene further in this episode.

Part One:

As Serina and Apollo celebrate their engagement several warriors aboard the Galactica are stricken with a mysterious virus that threatens to wipe them all out. Meanwhile a mysterious black void causes more alarm for the fleet and Adama must now rely on the training of inexepeirenced shuttle pilots to take the place of the stricken colonial warriors.

With many warriors suffering from an unknown ailment, the ''Galactica'' recruits new viper pilots—mostly young women, including [[Apollo (TOS)|Apollo's]] new bride, [[Serena]]. Led by Adama's spiritual interpretations, the fleet enters a vast magnetic void, emerging at the planet [[Kobol (TOS)|Kobol]], their legendary homeworld. Before Adama can discover Earth's location from the inscribed hieroglyphs, though, a Cylon attack destroys the sacred city on Kobol—and claims the life of Serena.

Episode Summary

* The episode begins on board the Galactica. Adama, Apollo, Serena, Boxey, Starbuck and Athena are all enjoying a meal prepared by Athena. Adama drops hints that Serina would makes some young man happy and that they have been waiting sometime for a major announcement by Apollo. Apollo finally announces that he and Serena are to be married if Boxey approves. Everyone celebrates and Athena looks at Starbuck longingly. Starbuck quickly gets up from the dinner and leaves stating he has as best man he has to prepare for the grooms send off.

* Boomer and Jolly prepare for their patrol and as they wait for launch clearance Starbuck and Apollo reminice in the launch bay. Starbuck feels that Apollo's marriage is an end of the closeness of their friendship, Apollo is touched by Starbuck's devotion of friendship.

* Boomer and Jolly launch on their patrol, soon followed by Starbuck and Apollo.

* Meanwhile on board the Cylon base star Baltar stay of execution is lifted and he is spared and given command of a base star and introduced to an IL-Series Drone, Lucifer, as his second-in-command.

* Starbuck continues to reminice with Apollo on their patrol and they come across a black void. Apollo ventures out to investigate the void much to Stabucks chragrin. Starbuck keeps track of Apollo so they won't get lost.

* On board the Galactica Greenbean shows up with victuls for the party and security enters questioning where the supplies came from. Colonel Tigh enters and says that he is responsible for the supplies being in the Warriors Lounge. Tigh jokingly remprimends Greenbean for lifting rations and orders the party be in full swing before Apollo returns.

* Starbuck continues to track Apollo through the void as Apollo ventures deeper into the void. He fires a round of lasers so Apollo can find him and Apollo does. Apollo follows Starbuck out of the void and the two head back to the Galactica Apollo owing Starbuck a fumarillo.

* Boomer and Jolly land on a asteroid in the Otarsis sector and Boomer notices some pods. At first Jolly can't see them and Boomer points them out. Boomer reminds Jolly that if they miss any one of these outposts they'll never know what hit them. They hide as a Cylon patrol launches from the pods and after the ships veer away from the direction of the fleet Boomer and Jolly quickly leave to warn the Galactica.

* On board Baltar's base star Lucifer reports that they spotted the patrol at the listening outpost and follow the route to the Galactica. Lucifer says they will take them by suprise. Baltar reminds him of the defeat at Carillon and tells Lucifer to keep the Galactica just beyond their detection range as he forumulates a plan.

* Adam orders Boomer and Jolly's patrol in. As Boomer follows Jolly in he notices Jolly not flying properly and tells him to steady up. Jolly appears feverish but manages to land. Boomer makes his report to Adama about the outpost and Adama asks Tigh to change course that will eventually take them into the void.

* Boomer skips decontamination and heads to the party. Boomer falters and Giles tells him to quit clowning around since Tigh is watching. Tigh warns them that if they are going to get falling down drunk then he will send them back to quarters. Boomer almost passes out from his fever.

* In the medical bay Doctor Salika and Cassiopea look over Jolly and he is alomst in a coma. Due to his condition they put him in a cryo-support chamber.

* Apollo and Starbuck return from patrol and go to de-con. Meanwhile on the bridge Salik reports to Adama the nature of Jolly's illness. Adama orders security to quartine everyone who has been in contact with Jolly and Boomer. As Apollo and Starbuck approach the Warrior's lounge Salik and Adama stop them just in time and orders the other warriors back in and Salik orders them quarantined.

* Apollo makes his report on the void to Adama and Tigh. Adama is distracted by mention of the void and goes to his quarters to think about this news. He apprantly knows something that Tigh and Apollo don't.

* Apollo returns to his quarters and talks with Boxey. Boxey won't tell Apollo what Serena has planned. Apollo enters and sees Serena in her flight uniform. He find out she has been training as a shuttle cadet and she has finished her first solo. Boxey leaves so Serena and Apollo can argue. Apollo mentions about how dangerous being a pilot is including a shuttle pilot. Serena reminds Apollo that Athena is a pilot and a warrior. They both mention how dangerous the others job is and about the losses suffered on Carillon. Apollo finally relents and asks her if she is any good and Serena says she is top of her class and Apollo says she better be since she is going to be married to the squadron commander.

* Salik reports another warrior has gone critical. Adama reports to Salik on the warriors condition and Salik tells Adama of the cryo-containers. Adama stresses the importance of the warriors and Salik tells Adama that his main concern right now is keeping them alive.

* Adam reads a journal in his quarters about the days of Kobol and the magnetic void. Apollo enters and Adama gives him a roster of colonists who are deemed experienced enough to be combat trained. Apollo is shocked at this revelation. Adama stands his ground and sends Apollo on his way with his orders to train the new pilots. Apollo asks Adama to read the names on the roster Adama does and notices Serena name.

* Apollo and Starbuck begin the female shuttle pilots training to Viper pilots. Serena flirts with Apollo during the training.

* Cassiopea reports on another unit going critical. Salik goes to the bridge to asks Adama for a shuttle to go the asteroid where Boomer and Jolly were to find the source of the infection. Faced with the great loss of warriors Adama now has no choice but to get the very green viper pilots who are still in simulators ready for the mission. Adama orders Salik to get his team ready.

* In training Athena is in the simulator and as she destroys a Cylon she also inadvertanly kills Starbuck. The training is interrupted when Apollo is called to the bridge.

* On the bridge Adama asks the status of the pilots. Adama then tells Apollo that there is no choice now but to launch the new warriors on the mission to the asteroid. Apollo reminds Adama that the pilots will be throwing thier lives if they go on this mission. Adama weighs the odds but still elects to have the mission proceed much to Apollo's amazement.

* Apollo and Starbuck launch their vipers first followed by the new Blue Squadron pilots. The launch goes off without an issue except for Brie who has difficulty getting control of her viper after launch, but she does and Rigel announces the succesful launch of Blue Squadron.

* On board Baltar's ship Lucifer reports to Baltar that they have overtaken the Galactica and that the Galactica is turning into the void. Baltar requests that they capture one of the warriors during their patrols. Lucifer leaves happy in Baltar's deviousness.

* The warriors continue on their mission. Apollo goes ahead to the asteroid to destroy the outpost while Starbuck stays behind with the new warriors. Brie reports on objects coming from behind and Starbuck notices that it's a Cylon freighter. Athena follows Starbuck as his wingman. Starbuck allows Athena to follow but tells her "for saken sake, don't shoot me". The Cylons warn the outpost and they launch fighters to intercept. The new warriors engage the Cylons to help Apollo after Apollo tells thme not to. The new warriors succesfully thrwart off the Cylons while Apollo successfuly destroys the listening post. With the mission a success the medical shuttle lands and finds the source of the infection.

* Adama orders the fleet to probe speed, Tigh can't beleive they are going into the void. Adama tells him they have no choice since the outpost has now alerted other Cylons.

* Lucifer reports to Baltar on the destruction of the outpost and Baltar is confused since there is nothing of value on the post to begin with. == Overview ==

Part One:

As Serina and Apollo celebrate their engagement several warriors aboard the Galactica are stricken with a mysterious virus that threatens to wipe them all out. Meanwhile a mysterious black void causes more alarm for the fleet and Adama must now rely on the training of inexepeirenced shuttle pilots to take the place of the stricken colonial warriors.

== Summary ==

With many warriors suffering from an unknown ailment, the ''Galactica'' recruits new viper pilots—mostly young women, including [[Apollo (TOS)|Apollo's]] new bride, [[Serena]]. Led by Adama's spiritual interpretations, the fleet enters a vast magnetic void, emerging at the planet [[Kobol (TOS)|Kobol]], their legendary homeworld. Before Adama can discover Earth's location from the inscribed hieroglyphs, though, a Cylon attack destroys the sacred city on Kobol—and claims the life of Serena.

Episode Summary

* The episode begins on board the Galactica. Adama, Apollo, Serena, Boxey, Starbuck and Athena are all enjoying a meal prepared by Athena. Adama drops hints that Serina would makes some young man happy and that they have been waiting sometime for a major announcement by Apollo. Apollo finally announces that he and Serena are to be married if Boxey approves. Everyone celebrates and Athena looks at Starbuck longingly. Starbuck quickly gets up from the dinner and leaves stating he has as best man he has to prepare for the grooms send off.

* Boomer and Jolly prepare for their patrol and as they wait for launch clearance Starbuck and Apollo reminice in the launch bay. Starbuck feels that Apollo's marriage is an end of the closeness of their friendship, Apollo is touched by Starbuck's devotion of friendship.

* Boomer and Jolly launch on their patrol, soon followed by Starbuck and Apollo.

* Meanwhile on board the Cylon base star Baltar stay of execution is lifted and he is spared and given command of a base star and introduced to an IL-Series Drone, Lucifer, as his second-in-command.

* Starbuck continues to reminice with Apollo on their patrol and they come across a black void. Apollo ventures out to investigate the void much to Stabucks chragrin. Starbuck keeps track of Apollo so they won't get lost.

* On board the Galactica Greenbean shows up with victuls for the party and security enters questioning where the supplies came from. Colonel Tigh enters and says that he is responsible for the supplies being in the Warriors Lounge. Tigh jokingly remprimends Greenbean for lifting rations and orders the party be in full swing before Apollo returns.

* Starbuck continues to track Apollo through the void as Apollo ventures deeper into the void. He fires a round of lasers so Apollo can find him and Apollo does. Apollo follows Starbuck out of the void and the two head back to the Galactica Apollo owing Starbuck a fumarillo.

* Boomer and Jolly land on a asteroid in the Otarsis sector and Boomer notices some pods. At first Jolly can't see them and Boomer points them out. Boomer reminds Jolly that if they miss any one of these outposts they'll never know what hit them. They hide as a Cylon patrol launches from the pods and after the ships veer away from the direction of the fleet Boomer and Jolly quickly leave to warn the Galactica.

* On board Baltar's base star Lucifer reports that they spotted the patrol at the listening outpost and follow the route to the Galactica. Lucifer says they will take them by suprise. Baltar reminds him of the defeat at Carillon and tells Lucifer to keep the Galactica just beyond their detection range as he forumulates a plan.

* Adam orders Boomer and Jolly's patrol in. As Boomer follows Jolly in he notices Jolly not flying properly and tells him to steady up. Jolly appears feverish but manages to land. Boomer makes his report to Adama about the outpost and Adama asks Tigh to change course that will eventually take them into the void.

* Boomer skips decontamination and heads to the party. Boomer falters and Giles tells him to quit clowning around since Tigh is watching. Tigh warns them that if they are going to get falling down drunk then he will send them back to quarters. Boomer almost passes out from his fever.

* In the medical bay Doctor Salika and Cassiopea look over Jolly and he is alomst in a coma. Due to his condition they put him in a cryo-support chamber.

* Apollo and Starbuck return from patrol and go to de-con. Meanwhile on the bridge Salik reports to Adama the nature of Jolly's illness. Adama orders security to quartine everyone who has been in contact with Jolly and Boomer. As Apollo and Starbuck approach the Warrior's lounge Salik and Adama stop them just in time and orders the other warriors back in and Salik orders them quarantined.

* Apollo makes his report on the void to Adama and Tigh. Adama is distracted by mention of the void and goes to his quarters to think about this news. He apprantly knows something that Tigh and Apollo don't.

* Apollo returns to his quarters and talks with Boxey. Boxey won't tell Apollo what Serena has planned. Apollo enters and sees Serena in her flight uniform. He find out she has been training as a shuttle cadet and she has finished her first solo. Boxey leaves so Serena and Apollo can argue. Apollo mentions about how dangerous being a pilot is including a shuttle pilot. Serena reminds Apollo that Athena is a pilot and a warrior. They both mention how dangerous the others job is and about the losses suffered on Carillon. Apollo finally relents and asks her if she is any good and Serena says she is top of her class and Apollo says she better be since she is going to be married to the squadron commander.

* Salik reports another warrior has gone critical. Adama reports to Salik on the warriors condition and Salik tells Adama of the cryo-containers. Adama stresses the importance of the warriors and Salik tells Adama that his main concern right now is keeping them alive.

* Adam reads a journal in his quarters about the days of Kobol and the magnetic void. Apollo enters and Adama gives him a roster of colonists who are deemed experienced enough to be combat trained. Apollo is shocked at this revelation. Adama stands his ground and sends Apollo on his way with his orders to train the new pilots. Apollo asks Adama to read the names on the roster Adama does and notices Serena name.

* Apollo and Starbuck begin the female shuttle pilots training to Viper pilots. Serena flirts with Apollo during the training.

* Cassiopea reports on another unit going critical. Salik goes to the bridge to asks Adama for a shuttle to go the asteroid where Boomer and Jolly were to find the source of the infection. Faced with the great loss of warriors Adama now has no choice but to get the very green viper pilots who are still in simulators ready for the mission. Adama orders Salik to get his team ready.

* In training Athena is in the simulator and as she destroys a Cylon she also inadvertanly kills Starbuck. The training is interrupted when Apollo is called to the bridge.

* On the bridge Adama asks the status of the pilots. Adama then tells Apollo that there is no choice now but to launch the new warriors on the mission to the asteroid. Apollo reminds Adama that the pilots will be throwing thier lives if they go on this mission. Adama weighs the odds but still elects to have the mission proceed much to Apollo's amazement.

* Apollo and Starbuck launch their vipers first followed by the new Blue Squadron pilots. The launch goes off without an issue except for Brie who has difficulty getting control of her viper after launch, but she does and Rigel announces the succesful launch of Blue Squadron.

* On board Baltar's ship Lucifer reports to Baltar that they have overtaken the Galactica and that the Galactica is turning into the void. Baltar requests that they capture one of the warriors during their patrols. Lucifer leaves happy in Baltar's deviousness.

* The warriors continue on their mission. Apollo goes ahead to the asteroid to destroy the outpost while Starbuck stays behind with the new warriors. Brie reports on objects coming from behind and Starbuck notices that it's a Cylon freighter. Athena follows Starbuck as his wingman. Starbuck allows Athena to follow but tells her "for saken sake, don't shoot me". The Cylons warn the outpost and they launch fighters to intercept. The new warriors engage the Cylons to help Apollo after Apollo tells thme not to. The new warriors succesfully thrwart off the Cylons while Apollo successfuly destroys the listening post. With the mission a success the medical shuttle lands and finds the source of the infection.

* Adama orders the fleet to probe speed, Tigh can't beleive they are going into the void. Adama tells him they have no choice since the outpost has now alerted other Cylons.

* Lucifer reports to Baltar on the destruction of the outpost and Baltar is confused since there is nothing of value on the post to begin with. Lucifer reports on the erratic flight patterns of the Colonial Warriors. Baltar warns Lucifer not to fence with him, he then orders Lucifer to capture one of the patrol ships.

== Questions ==

* Apollo asks Serina if she knows how many shuttle pilots were lost on Carillon. She replies many civilians were lost too. The implications are the number civilians and Colonial Warriors killed when the planet was destroyed may have been high. An exact figure is never stated.

* How did Baltar escape from Kobol? The last we saw of him he was lying underneath some rubble bleeding and trapped. Did Lucifer come to rescue him?

* The scene with Baltar and Imperious Leader is altered somehwhat from the epilouge in the pilot episode. In the original Epilouge the Imperious Leader had mentioned how The Cylons were onimipitant and wanted to extend the hand of peace. In the scene during this episode it is shortened to have Baltar just go in search of the humans.

* In the original movie Baltar was indeed be-headed in front of the Imperious leader but the scene was altered when it was realized that the series was being picked-up so the producers wanted John Colicos to return as Baltar so they re-edited the scene in the pilot to have Baltar removed and added the Epilouge and then altered the scene further in this episode.

* On the deleted scene in the DVD box set there is a scene with Serina piloting a shuttle and making her first landing. There is dialouge in the aired episode from Boomer to Jolly about this landing when Boomer says "Hey head's up Jolly, that first cadet pilot made a better landing then you."

* Several of the female warriors would again be shown in future episodes during battle scenes. Brie would return in "War of The Gods" when her and Greenbean are captured by The Ship of Lights.

* The character of Serena was originally to be given a larger role in the series. In the pilot there were scenes shot where she met with a doctor and her illness was dis-closed, some sort of radiation/cancer like ailement due to the bombing runs by The Cylons on Caprica. This was to have played out during the series run, but when Jane Seymour elected not to return for the entire series her character was killed off.

* During the preview of the episode there is a scene showing Starbuck instructing the female warriors but this scene is not included in the episode as aired or on the deleted scenes on the DVD.

* It is explained that the brown jumpsuits worn underneath the warriors uniforms help in counteracting the G-Forces endured when flying a Viper.

* There was a scene shot in The Life Centre with Cassipoea and Apollo explaining Cassiopea's character changing from a Socialator to Med Tech. She mentions to Apollo that it is a time of new beginnings and Apollo agrees saying everyone has been given a clensing due to the holocaust.

* Boomer and Jolly prepare for their patrol and as they wait for launch clearance Starbuck and Apollo reminice in the launch bay. Starbuck feels that Apollo's marriage is an end of the closeness of their friendship, Apollo is touched by Starbuck's devotion of friendship.

* Boomer and Jolly launch on their patrol, soon followed by Starbuck and Apollo.

* Meanwhile on board the Cylon base star Baltar stay of execution is lifted and he is spared and given command of a base star and introduced to an IL-Series Drone, Lucifer, as his second-in-command.

* Starbuck continues to reminice with Apollo on their patrol and they come across a black void. Apollo ventures out to investigate the void much to Stabucks chragrin. Starbuck keeps track of Apollo so they won't get lost.

* On board the Galactica Greenbean shows up with victuls for the party and security enters questioning where the supplies came from. Colonel Tigh enters and says that he is responsible for the supplies being in the Warriors Lounge. Tigh jokingly remprimends Greenbean for lifting rations and orders the party be in full swing before Apollo returns.

* Starbuck continues to track Apollo through the void as Apollo ventures deeper into the void. He fires a round of lasers so Apollo can find him and Apollo does. Apollo follows Starbuck out of the void and the two head back to the Galactica Apollo owing Starbuck a fumarillo.

* Boomer and Jolly land on a asteroid in the Otarsis sector and Boomer notices some pods. At first Jolly can't see them and Boomer points them out. Boomer reminds Jolly that if they miss any one of these outposts they'll never know what hit them. They hide as a Cylon patrol launches from the pods and after the ships veer away from the direction of the fleet Boomer and Jolly quickly leave to warn the Galactica.

* On board Baltar's base star Lucifer reports that they spotted the patrol at the listening outpost and follow the route to the Galactica. Lucifer says they will take them by suprise. Baltar reminds him of the defeat at Carillon and tells Lucifer to keep the Galactica just beyond their detection range as he forumulates a plan.

* Adam orders Boomer and Jolly's patrol in. As Boomer follows Jolly in he notices Jolly not flying properly and tells him to steady up. Jolly appears feverish but manages to land. Boomer makes his report to Adama about the outpost and Adama asks Tigh to change course that will eventually take them into the void.

* Boomer skips decontamination and heads to the party. Boomer falters and Giles tells him to quit clowning around since Tigh is watching. Tigh warns them that if they are going to get falling down drunk then he will send them back to quarters. Boomer almost passes out from his fever.

* In the medical bay Doctor Salika and Cassiopea look over Jolly and he is alomst in a coma. Due to his condition they put him in a cryo-support chamber.

* Apollo and Starbuck return from patrol and go to de-con. Meanwhile on the bridge Salik reports to Adama the nature of Jolly's illness. Adama orders security to quartine everyone who has been in contact with Jolly and Boomer. As Apollo and Starbuck approach the Warrior's lounge Salik and Adama stop them just in time and orders the other warriors back in and Salik orders them quarantined.

* Apollo makes his report on the void to Adama and Tigh. Adama is distracted by mention of the void and goes to his quarters to think about this news. He apprantly knows something that Tigh and Apollo don't.

* Apollo returns to his quarters and talks with Boxey. Boxey won't tell Apollo what Serena has planned. Apollo enters and sees Serena in her flight uniform. He find out she has been training as a shuttle cadet and she has finished her first solo. Boxey leaves so Serena and Apollo can argue. Apollo mentions about how dangerous being a pilot is including a shuttle pilot. Serena reminds Apollo that Athena is a pilot and a warrior. They both mention how dangerous the others job is and about the losses suffered on Carillon. Apollo finally relents and asks her if she is any good and Serena says she is top of her class and Apollo says she better be since she is going to be married to the squadron commander.

* Salik reports another warrior has gone critical. Adama reports to Salik on the warriors condition and Salik tells Adama of the cryo-containers. Adama stresses the importance of the warriors and Salik tells Adama that his main concern right now is keeping them alive.

* Adam reads a journal in his quarters about the days of Kobol and the magnetic void. Apollo enters and Adama gives him a roster of colonists who are deemed experienced enough to be combat trained. Apollo is shocked at this revelation. Adama stands his ground and sends Apollo on his way with his orders to train the new pilots. Apollo asks Adama to read the names on the roster Adama does and notices Serena name.

* Apollo and Starbuck begin the female shuttle pilots training to Viper pilots. Serena flirts with Apollo during the training.

* Cassiopea reports on another unit going critical. Salik goes to the bridge to asks Adama for a shuttle to go the asteroid where Boomer and Jolly were to find the source of the infection. Faced with the great loss of warriors Adama now has no choice but to get the very green viper pilots who are still in simulators ready for the mission. Adama orders Salik to get his team ready.

* In training Athena is in the simulator and as she destroys a Cylon she also inadvertanly kills Starbuck. The training is interrupted when Apollo is called to the bridge.

* On the bridge Adama asks the status of the pilots. Adama then tells Apollo that there is no choice now but to launch the new warriors on the mission to the asteroid. Apollo reminds Adama that the pilots will be throwing thier lives if they go on this mission. Adama weighs the odds but still elects to have the mission proceed much to Apollo's amazement.

* Apollo and Starbuck launch their vipers first followed by the new Blue Squadron pilots. The launch goes off without an issue except for Brie who has difficulty getting control of her viper after launch, but she does and Rigel announces the succesful launch of Blue Squadron.

* On board Baltar's ship Lucifer reports to Baltar that they have overtaken the Galactica and that the Galactica is turning into the void. Baltar requests that they capture one of the warriors during their patrols. Lucifer leaves happy in Baltar's deviousness.

* The warriors continue on their mission. Apollo goes ahead to the asteroid to destroy the outpost while Starbuck stays behind with the new warriors. Brie reports on objects coming from behind and Starbuck notices that it's a Cylon freighter. Athena follows Starbuck as his wingman. Starbuck allows Athena to follow but tells her "for saken sake, don't shoot me". The Cylons warn the outpost and they launch fighters to intercept. The new warriors engage the Cylons to help Apollo after Apollo tells thme not to. The new warriors succesfully thrwart off the Cylons while Apollo successfuly destroys the listening post. With the mission a success the medical shuttle lands and finds the source of the infection.

* Adama orders the fleet to probe speed, Tigh can't beleive they are going into the void. Adama tells him they have no choice since the outpost has now alerted other Cylons.

* Lucifer reports to Baltar on the destruction of the outpost and Baltar is confused since there is nothing of value on the post to begin with. Lucifer reports on the erratic flight patterns of the Colonial Warriors. Baltar warns Lucifer not to fence with him, he then orders Lucifer to capture one of the patrol ships.

* The scene with Baltar and Imperious Leader is altered somehwhat from the epilouge in the pilot episode. In the original Epilouge the Imperious Leader had mentioned how The Cylons were onimipitant and wanted to extend the hand of peace. In the scene during this episode it is shortened to have Baltar just go in search of the humans.

* In the original movie Baltar was indeed be-headed in front of the Imperious leader but the scene was altered when it was realized that the series was being picked-up so the producers wanted John Colicos to return as Baltar so they re-edited the scene in the pilot to have Baltar removed and added the Epilouge and then altered the scene further in this episode.

* On the deleted scene in the DVD box set there is a scene with Serina piloting a shuttle and making her first landing. There is dialouge in the aired episode from Boomer to Jolly about this landing when Boomer says "Hey head's up Jolly, that first cadet pilot made a better landing then you."

== Original Series ==

According to the [[Book of the Word]], a religious text of the [[Kobol]]lian faith, Humanity began on a planet called [[Kobol]]. After an ecological disaster purported to be created by technology, the tribes of humanity fled outward to the stars. Twelve tribes of man eventually passed through a [[magnetic void]] and settled on a star system of 12 planets, which would be later known as the [[Colonies]]. ([[Lost Planet of the Gods]]) A thirteenth tribe made another Exodus to a planet known as Earth.

One thousand [[yahren]] prior to the destruction of the Colonies, the Colonials interferred with the Cylon's attacks on an alien species called the [[Hasari]]. This began the [[Thousand Yahren War]], which ended upon the final sneak attack at the [[Battle of Cimtar]], destroying a portion of the fleet led by [[President Adar]]. ([[Saga of a Star World]])

Several planets, moons and asteroid colonies throughout the portion of the galaxy familiar to the Colonials boasted small croppings of Colonials. Some who were well aware of the Colonies and the war with the Cylons, others who knew nothing of them.

Each of the twelve colonies boasted its own race and dialect as to distinguish itself from the others.

It is unknown if the remaining surviving colonists on the homeworlds re-grouped to fight another day and push back the Cylon's or if the Cylons defeat on the twelve colonies was total and no colonists live still on the original twelve worlds.

== Re-imagined Series ==

According to religious texts, the race of man and their [[God]]s lived together in harmony on the planet [[Kobol]]. After a God became jealous and attempted to wield more power, the gods and man parted ways. Twelve tribes left Kobol to settle what would be known as the [[Twelve Colonies of Man]]. During their reign on the Colonies, the 12 tribes warred and fought for resources; eventually, they created the [[Cylons]], a race of mechanical creatures with a humanoid form. By eventual design, the human race became dependant upon these mechanised creations for manufacturing, maintenance, and servitude of the human race -- the Cylons were even used to war against their fellow man.

Until the Cylons, through means unknown, systematically attacked Humanity, slaughtering humans and controlling military ships until the humans as a whole shed their technology, reverting to an age of pre-[[wireless]] and pre-network technologies. This began the [[Cylon War]], a long and bloody struggle which created an Armistice in the form of the [[Cimtar Peace Accord]] and the creation of a unified government under the [[Articles of Colonization]].

Forty years after the Peace Accord, the humans began to believe that they had rid themselves of the threat they created. The civilian and military populations began adapting wireless and network technologies, which were aimed to unify the colonies in a new "information age". While some segments of the human population, notably veterans of the Cylon War ([[William Adama]] and [[Saul Tigh]]), rejected networked technologies, the human race found itself brought to its knees. With the introduction of [[backdoor]]s to the [[Command Navigation Program]] devised by Dr. [[Gaius Baltar]], the Cylons disabled Colonial defensive systems, including the Colonial astral forces ([[battlestar]]s and [[Viper]]/[[Raptor]] squadrons) and committed a mass [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|genocidal attack on the human race]] using nuclear warfare ([[Mini-Series]]).

Since then, the human race has been reduced to under 50,000 people onboard a fleet comprised of the [[battlestar]] ''[[Galactica]]'' and some 70 [[FTL]]-capable ships, fleeing from their homeworlds, only to stumble over the alleged birthplace of mankind -- Kobol. * During the pre-war days The Rising Star was a well known Luxury Liner that traversed the corridors of The Colonies and outlining regions. Many people came aboard her for leisure activities and vacations.

* After the fleet was settled. Commander Adama opened the dining level on the Rising Star to help boost morale among the survivors and give them an evening to look foward too. So popular was this idea that the waiting list was at least a yahren long.

* Flight Sergeant Ortega was in charge of getting women and children aboard The Rising Star during the Exodus on Caprica.

On the deleted scene in the DVD box set there is a scene with Serina piloting a shuttle and making her first landing. There is dialouge in the aired episode from Boomer to Jolly about this landing when Boomer says "Hey head's up Jolly, that first cadet pilot made a better landing then you."

Several of the female warriors would again be shown in future episodes during battle scenes and and the female warrior Bre would be given some dialouge in the episode "War of The Gods"

The character of Serina was originally to be given a larger role in the series. In the pilot there were scenes shot where she met with a doctor and her illness was dis-closed, some sort of cancer like ailement. This was to have played out during the series run, but when Jane Seymour elected not to return for the entire series her character was killed off.

As Serina and Apollo celebrate their engagement several warriors aboard the Galactica are stricken with a mysterious virus that threatens to wipe them all out. Meanwhile a mysterious black void causes more alarm for the fleet and Adama must now rely on the training of inexepeirenced shuttle pilots to take the place of the stricken colonial warriors.
