Hi, you welcomed me yesterday - I usually edit [http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/User:Sycamore another wiki] with an ongoing discussion of funding and hosting. I was interested in the way your wiki works. You seem to be A.) Independent from a host (i.e. you don't have host that has any say in waht you do, or you host yoursleves completly?) and B.) You have user payed subscription along with advertising - Does this work well? Also [http://galactica.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page Wikia has its own battlestar wiki] free of adverts and is free to use - however its mostly abadoned - which seems odd if you have to pay to get an ad free use on this one? Greetings, {{PAGENAME}}, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I'm pleased to tell you that you have full editing privileges on every wiki in the Battlestar Wiki network. As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the ''Battlestar Galactica'' series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise. Presently, we don't cover fan fiction, but our sister-site, [[bsp:|Battlestar Pegasus]], does so. We're also not a discussion site, although we do have an ever-growing [http://www.battlestarforum.com Battlestar Forum] where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!

To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our [[BW:TUT|tutorial]], experiment in [[BW:SAND|the sandbox]] (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic [[BW:POL|policies]] (which have important differences from other SF wikis). For some general questions and answers about the navigation and operation of the Wiki, check out the [[Battlestar Wiki:FAQ|Frequently Asked Questions]] (FAQ).

Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the [[BW:CN|Chiefs' noticeboard]] (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the [[BW:GQ|Galactipedians' Quorum]] (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").

Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a [[BW:MEMBERSHIP|paid membership]], which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially.
