What about the Beretta CX4 Storm carbine? I think the Marine that stopped Roslin (then let her go) when she was escaping had one. It's interesting that they took the trouble to apparently fabricate those strange wooden-handled pistols, but used existing submachine guns. --Steelviper 17:42, 20 January 2006 (EST)
Thanks for changing the Five-seveN to a sidearm, I forgot. To answer your question, the CMC used them in Valley of Darkness. --Talos 17:23, 25 January 2006 (EST)

In Lay Down Your Burden Part two, the marines on Caprica were using a H&K G36c, the Protecta shotgun, that's the one with the drum mag that sharon valerri used in Home part one, and Anders was using a H&K UMP. Did i get it right?
:Most of the Marines are still carrying Cx4s but Starbuck carries a G-36K. The C model has a flat Picatinny rail instead of the integrated scope like the gun Thrace uses. G-36. Anders still has his UMP which he's had from the beginning. Helo carries a Protecta and I swear I saw a Neostead being carried by a resistance member. The gun Sharon carries in Home may look like a shotgun (don't have a pic right now) but it definately shot like a grenade launcher. --Talos 10:47, 13 March 2006 (CST)
::I believe (well, assumed) the Protecta was just being used as a stand-in for a grenade launcher. Has one ever fired shot on the show? --CalculatinAvatar 02:42, 14 March 2006 (CST)
::::I meant fired shot, as in the small metal objects propelled from a shotgun (or a cannon or whatever). Upon reflection, I guess it looks like I typoed "fired a shot." --CalculatinAvatar 00:20, 15 March 2006 (CST)
Marine Gear
I think I nailed the Combat Vest. I stuck my SWAT -trained friends onto it, and they came back with these models, given their telltale snap-&-velcro attachment system. It's more than likely that the costume department dealt with the manufacturer to get un-armored versions on the cheap. The goggles, too, are quite inexpensive.

I did some research an i'm pretty certain that the tac vests worn by the marine's are actually a variaent of the MilSpex SWAT Tactical Vest. It has movable puches and unlike the vests metioned in the actual article, the vests are fairly inexpesive running at about $50 a vest. -SWATGUY-

There's also something worth discussing about their uniforms, especially after viewing the two most recent episodes (the Lay Down Your Burdens). I'll post that over at Talk:Uniform -- Hawke 12:58, 15 March 2006 (CST)

They also to appear very close to Safariland's Cover Six Plus. I do think they are discontinued though. Panther 22:46, 17 August 2006 (CDT)

:The costume lead for the show has had serious problems in sufficient materials to make the flight suit as well as the day officers uniform as they prefer to use exotic fabric types. I wouldn't be surprised if the marine outfits use uncommon vests and other items to ensure that they are similar to Earth stuff, but are unfamilar enough to make it seem cool. --Spencerian 15:52, 18 August 2006 (CDT)

I believe that in 1x08, before interrogating Leoben, Kara Thrace is having a dicussion with a marine officer. If not, there is some variety of previously unseen uniform there. Kkimball 20:53, 19 August 2006 (CDT)
:No, that's the captain of the Gemenon Traveler. They didn't bother moving Leoben to Galactica as that would be too dangerous and they didn't have time, so all those scenes actually occur on the Gemenon Traveller. Starbuck also makes various asides saying they aren't on Galactica. --The Merovingian (C - E) 00:40, 20 August 2006 (CDT)
