Essendo una guida agli episodi ed un enciclopedia (e, in misura minore, un dizionario), questa wiki potrebbe utilizzare informazioni di natura "spoilerante". Questa politica si occupa dell'inserimento e della verifica di questo tipo di informazioni, e di come il lettore può essere avvisato quando visita un articolo contenente queste informazioni.

== Definizione di "Spoiler" ==

Nel gergo dei fan, uno "spoiler" è un qualunque tipo di informazione che possa danneggiare l'interesse di un utente nei confronti di una serie, magari divulgando trame future o introducendo nuovi fatti riguardanti i personaggi coinvolti nel [[canone]] di una serie.

Per un nuovo utente di ogni serie di "Battlestar Galactica', tutto è considerato uno spoiler. In ogni caso, dato che lo scopo di questa wiki è di fornire informazioni, non siamo qui per proteggere il lettore dalle informazioni stesse.

Per questo motivo, uno spoiler è un gruppo di informazioni su un episodio che non sia ancora stato trasmesso "da qualche parte" nel mondo, indipendentemente dall'impatto che ciò può avere avuto.

Di conseguenza, questa politica sugli spoiler protegge gli spettatori familiari con la serie che non vogliono essere esposti ad informazioni di episodi che non sono mai stati trasmessi.

== Politica generale ==

Questa wiki riconosce che c'è chi crede che questo tipo di informazioni abbia un impatto negativo sul loro modo di vedere lo show, mentre altri sono indifferenti al subire uno spoiler.
Per questo motivo, bisognerà aderire alle seguenti misure:

# Informazioni su episodi non ancora trasmessi possono essere aggiunte ad ogni articolo di questa wiki, "ma saranno etichettati con un messaggio di avviso sugli spoiler", come descritto sotto:
#* Per articoli che si riferiscono interamente ad un episodio non ancora trasmesso, il tag -- {{tl|spoiler}} -- andrà nella prima riga del testo dell'articolo, prima di ogni altro testo o template.
#* Per articoli contenenti un misto di informazioni da episodi trasmessi e non trasmessi, le parti contenenti spoiler andranno racchiuse nel template {{tl|spoiltext}}. Per esempio, una persona dovrebbe inserire: <tt><nowiki>{{spoiltext|Boomer sparerà ad Adama nell'ultimo atto di questo episodio.}}</nowiki></tt>. Questo "nasconderà" in maniera efficace le informazioni al lettore casuale, permettendogli però di selezionare il testo per cui vuole essere "spoilerato"
#* Tutte le info contenenti spoiler devono avere una fonta, sia essa nella forma di un [[Wikipedia:URL|URL]] o di un testo su una pubblicazione stampata, nella "pagina di discussione" dell'articolo che contiene lo spoiler. Per il testo stampato, una copia deve essere scansita e caricata nella wiki sotto lka forma di [[Wikipedia:JPG|JPG]] o di [[Wikipedia:PNG|PNG]], e postata nella pagina di discussione dell'articolo contenente lo spoiler.
#* Il mancato attenersi alla procedura sopra descritta avrà come conseguenza la rimozione delle informazioni "spoileranti". Nel caso questo comportamento dovesse persistere, saranno messe in atto le conseguenze descritte più avanti in questo testo.
# Le informazioni presenti nelle pagine di discussione o dell'utente "non" necessitano di essere etichettate con {{tl|spoiler}}. Queste sono "zone neutrali", anche se si suggerisce che gli utenti tengano in considerazione eventuali altri utenti che non la pensano alla stessa maniera sugli spoiler.
# Una volta che l'episodio è stato tramsesso - o viene trasmesso nel momento in cui un utente sta editando il documento - le informazioni che lo riguardano non possono più essere considerate "spoileranti". Questo indipendentemente dal fatto che l'episodio sia stato trasmesso da qualche altra parte. (per esempio: l'Episodio 3.01 è stato trasmesso negli Stati Uniti, ma non in Italia. Solo perché non è stato trasmesso in Italia ciò non implica che l'episodio sia da considerare "spoilerante", dato che è già stato trasmesso negli U.S.A.)

This project deals with converting articles from the ''Battlestar Wiki'' into other languages and how to accomplish that task.

== Overview ==
Presently, all of the content on this wiki is in [[Wikipedia:English language|english]] — American english, to be specific. We have people who view this Wiki from other countries, as far away as Europe and Asia. And likely further.

Therefore, this is a formal effort to recruit mutli-lingual contributors and organize these contributors to translate our documents in other languages. Once there is enough translations of a pirticular translation, the Battlestar Wiki, as a group, will sit down and see if there is cause enough for a full language site with the "battlestarwiki.org" domain name.

Currently we have two sub-lanauage projects with there status.

== How to Begin ==

To begin, create a subpage of the article you wish to translate. For instance, let's say you were going to tackle the article on [[The Fleet (RDM)|The Fleet]] and translate it into Spanish. Here's how you would begin:

* In the search box, type in:

* Press "Go". Select "create this article" option.
* Begin translating the article. Once done, list the article on this page under Articles Translated.

Once there are a growing number of articles, Joe or Shane will then set up an invidiual BSG Wiki for that language. (i.e. [[:de:Main Page|de.battlestarwiki.org]] for German BSG Wiki, et al.).

== Articles Needing Translation ==

Obviously our eventual goal is to have just about everything translated. Rather than listing every page here, this can be used to request critical pages for translators to focus on.

These three should be the first ones done.

There are others to be translated as well that need to be trnaslated before you can even get your own-wiki. If you can prove that you can deicated a full force of at least 5-10 people to translating all the required information, we will create a language wiki without question and import these items into your language.

It is suggeted you start from the oldest episodes and articles first before you more to articles that always translating.
