== Harbinger of Doom? ==

Sci Fi Channel has a dubious reputation when it comes to its own original series (note ''Farscape''). Having only 13 episodes (which reflects season 1's initial allotment) may be for a number of factors, such as "less is more," for cost issues, or even committment. It's not that Sci Fi hasn't given the show enough advertising--far from it, IMO. I don't think it's got the best time slot, however. Friday was just fine, when Stargate fed its audience. Today, BSG holds well in ratings given the lack of a feeder show (A good one would be to have "Heroes" encore show play instead of "The Dresden Files," which seems to be an overused cop/sureality show a'la ''X-Files'' anyway). But it could and should do better. There's also the matter of the balance of action to character event shows, where this season isn't good in the space fighting that we all enjoy, and the overall mood; the audience really needs a pick-me-up show. :If they can write 13 episodes as tightly as they did the first season, then it'll be a good thing. As involved as RDM and Eick are involved in all stages of the process, I'd imagine it's considerably easier to wrap your (their) head around, top to bottom, thirteen rather than twenty episodes. Also, the way I read some of the announcements the thirteen is a floor (that potentially they could pick up more if the ratings are favorable). :The moment they increase the action for the sake of ratings is the moment the show ''deserves'' to die. I like the action scenes alright, but only if they supplement a good episode and don't distract from more important things. The balance is fine at the moment, as there have been some very large action and story episodes. I also watch the show ''because'' of the deep character stuff, so anything of that is very welcome here.
:I'm cautiously optimistic. Maybe they'll still increase there order. Maybe there'll be further 13 episode seasons. Who knows. Sure, things could be better, but I'll wait and see, before I join any of the typical and tiresome interweb pessimism. :I think a 13-episode season will mean fewer fillers, which should result in fewer 'bad' episodes. I'm not saying all fillers are bad episodes (I liked Litmus, Collaborators, Unfinished Business and Taking a Break, to name a few), but bad episodes do tend to be fillers. Also, 13 seems to be the magic number: episodes 214 and 314 (Black Market and The Woman King) were the worst eps to date, IMO. As in Season 2, Season 3 seems to have a couple of consecutive fillers around eps 14-16, which is usually the least interesting part of a season. A 13-episode season is less likely to have this caveat and might actually be better, unless perhaps they 'linked' those three fillers (eps 14-16), i.e. make them about a cross-episode story.

==Season 4 in March now==
So apparently Season 4 is now going to premiere in March, not April, according to the Season 4 teaser trailer, which aired tonight after Razor. It's a really good trailer, but I can't find it anywhere, not on Scifi Pulse, or on Youtube, so you're just going to have to take my word for it now. I did find one review of razor online in which the writer comments on the March date, and additionally, peoples blogs are beginning to buzz about it. However, this is far from a good link, and if anyone can find anything better, I would encourage that person to replace the link I provided in the article. :::Actually, there are quite a few releases coming out December... the 1980 dvd, the Season 1 HD-DVD set, and Razor. That's a lot, even by Universal Home Entertainment's standards. == trailer? ==

i just saw a trailer on aol for BSG season 4. i'm not sure if it is leaked or fan-made, but it looks the real deal. the trailer sports new battlestars (the "Titan" and the "Hades") titan and hades appear to be pegasus type battlestars. there was also another battlestar similar in apearence to [[chronos]]. and another type which (seems to) have 4 [[flight pods]]. they may be from flashbacks during the season but, given that one battlestar is seen flying in he [[ionian nebula]] the chanses are slim. or it could just be a hoax (even though the trailer seems to be taped off the "scifi" channel. just thought you'd like to know... ;D

== Cylotron ==

The Cylotron is made up for BtRL. It's basically a ship used to train new pilots in the Pegasus training simulator, and it has lots of sensors to aid training. I think it looks an old Cylon raider. I noticed there was a comment on the Analysis section about Adama reciting the passage, even though he said they were to the part he hadn't read before. Actually, he states that they are ''getting'' to the part he hasn't passed before, so they hadn't actually reached it yet, so if anything, these would be the parts he would remember the most, since it would be where he always stops after.

If anything, it seems like some double-symbolism could be read in to the fact that he would always stop reading after that particular passage...

Judging by the evidence in Razor, It seems that the woman killed was not Laird's wife. Prior to the shooting, she is shown being comforted by another man in the crowd who also lays a hand on the young girl assumed to be her daughter. This same man is shown acting horrified and reaching out towards her as she and her daughter are pulled from the crowd by Marines. Based on that, I'd say that Laird's shock was directed more towards the fact that it was the Colonial Military, not the Cylons who just shot those people, rather than it being his wife that was just executed. When Romo discovers Lee Adama is the only candidate for the President he is talking to his cat, Lance. He leaves to go confront Lee and he says to the cat, "Lance, defense rests. Come on." In the next scene he claiming Lance was dead for weeks.

If this is true it fits Romo's pattern of manipulation. He used the same pattern during the trial of Balter (the use of the cane). The best explanation is that Romo is using the cat to manipulate Lee.

The dialogue would support this, as Kara's point of contention is that Adama is asking her to risk additional pilots to search for a ship that very well may already be destroyed. Therefore, Adama is ordering Thrace to begin searching starting from their last known, most likely Sector Delta 9. Thrace is reluctant to comply, as the crew already has definite word of two pilots separated from their birds, and this would obviously be detrimental to moral, most likely more so than the other pilots aboard the baseship, whose fates are not yet certain. I don't see the search party connection from the dialogue quoted. Yes, they are talking about sending out the additional Raptors, however, there is nothing in the quote to suggest that it is another party that was lost. I can see how this issue is so vague, there were a lot of unexplained and ambiguous issues in the dialogue of SQN. If Tyrol is truly a Cylon, then Cally could only have a female child. They stated earlier in the series that the skinjobs could not reproduce without human donors. Reading the sci-fi forums and original series (way back to deception to the Cylons/Baltar by Specter, and how the Beings of Light 'try' not to interfere) may provide a spoiler to what is to come next from this episode if it stays on the sci-fi side. == Another constellation? ==

I think I've found another constellation, but I'm not sure how right I am and how appropriate it may be considering the repeats of Orion in later episodes.

When it was first mentioned that Orion ''may be'' in Cally's look out the window, I went to check it, but couldn't see Orion. However, around about where the reflection of Cally's cheek is, there is a group of stars I believe may be [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crux Crux] (also known as the Southern Cross, an important navigational constellation in the southern hemisphere). To the left of the cross (up when looking at the screen) are two bright stars, which may be the Pointers.

But there's a couple of problems. First is the later reappearance of Orion as a point of reference. Second is that the Pointers are too close together, but that issue can be circumvented by having The Fleet in a position where ''most'' of the stars line up but the Pointers appear closer together.

How are we qualifiying the count as going up?

Caprica Six has an unborn baby, which is obviously debatable in terms of counting as a surviour because the baby's parents are both Cylons and it isn't even born, but I digress as that isn't my point.

Either way, a Raptor poliot has been ''confirmed'' dead and a Viper pilot has been persumed dead, which at worst cancels the unborn baby in terms of surviours.

When Romo discovers Lee Adama is the only candidate for the President he is talking to his cat, Lance. He leaves to go confront Lee and he says to the cat, "Lance, defense rests. Come on." In the next scene he claiming Lance was dead for weeks.

If this is true it fits Romo's pattern of manipulation. He used the same pattern during the trial of Balter (the use of the cane). The best explanation is that Romo is using the cat to manipulate Lee.

:I think we had this discussion before, but the server reset deleted it. Basically, all indications are yes. Caprica-Six has been in the holding cell for months (so was not pregnant before). Access to her was limited (consider Romo in [[Crossroads, Part I]]), and even fewer people would have had the authority to turn the cameras off. Although it's a common cliché in fiction for the father not to be who you think it is, such a revelation in this case would be a large, and rather unnecessary stretch IMO. This article states that the two missing pilots were most likely lost in a scene that was filmed but cut. I however, thought that Starbuck was referring to the two vipers shown when scouting Sector Delta 9. This would make sense, as the scene occurs after the discovery of Sandman's viper and the additional Mark II, and, while the fates of Galactica's other pilots aboard the Rebel Baseship are still unknown, the crew has tangible proof of two deceased or at least MIA pilots from this evidence.
