Approximately 2,000 years ago, twelve of the thirteen tribes of [[Kobol]] leave the planet due to an issue involving their [[Religion in the Twelve Colonies#The Lords of Kobol|gods]], settling on 12 worlds some distance away ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I]]). Their namesakes and icons originally corresponded to the twelve signs of the ancient tribes, although these [[wikipedia:Zodiac|names]] drifted over time<ref>Flag matches with Colonies from "Encyclopedia Galactica." The early colonies lived (and fought) more as sovereign nations. The star system of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol has not been named.<ref>The 2003 [[Video Game]] and the [[Battlestar Galactica (TOS)|Original Series]] name the home system (or galaxy) for the Twelve Colonies as [[Cyrannus]]. However, since both the Video Game and Original Series material is of a [[Battlestar Wiki:Separate continuity|separate continuity]], its name for the system is questionable for the Re-imagined Series. In an early script of the miniseries, the Twelve Colonies were originally located on a single world - [[Kobol]]. However, this was later revised to twelve separate worlds, in keeping with the Original Series concept.</ref>

Caprica has been shown as an Earth-like world, similar to [[Kobol]] and [[New Caprica]]. No other colonies have been shown to-date. The military base seen in Kara Thrace's flashbacks in "[[Act of Contrition]]" may have been part of the facilities on Picon, the location of [[Fleet Headquarters]], but this cannot be substantiated.

No descriptions are available of the other colonies in terms of their celestial type: Minor planet, moon, or major planet. However, [[Elosha]] states in the [[miniseries]] that the tribes settle onto "12 worlds." While the use of "worlds" is ambiguous, the colonies are noted as independent celestial bodies.

Although Commander [[William Adama|Adama]] and President [[Laura Roslin]] mention leaving the [[Wikipedia:Planetary system|star system]], it is unclear whether all twelve colonies are in this star system. Aerelon was primarily an agricultural world. It was considered to be the the "food basket" of the Twelve Colonies. Despite this, Aerelon was ranked as one of the poorest members of the Colonies. People from Aerelon are known to have a strong raspy dialect ([[Dirty Hands]]).

"Fifteen people died" when President [[Richard Adar]], for reasons unexplained, sent the [[Colonial Marine Corps|Marines]] to Aerelon ([[Water]]).

The mining colony of [[Troy]], destroyed in a cataclysmic explosion ([[Flesh and Bone]]) is located near Aerelon, and may have been operated by natives of that world. [[Troy]] was the alleged home of [[Sharon Valerii]] ([[Flesh and Bone]]).

The pro [[Pyramid (RDM)|Pyramid]] team from Aerelon played against the [[Caprica Buccaneers]] in one of the last games before the Cylon attack. They apparently won ([[Resistance (episode)|Resistance]]).

A photo of a grief-stricken soldier staring out at the ruins of Aerelon's capital hangs behind President Roslin's desk and on the bulkhead of the pilot ready room on ''Galactica'' (titled [["Lest We Forget"]]). ''Galactica's ''pilots touch the photo for luck as they file past to the hangar. This photo of Aerelon gives viewers the only visual depiction of life on a colony other than [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]] in the Re-imagined Series.

In [[Dirty Hands]] [[Gaius Baltar]] talks extensively about Aerelon, where he is supposedly from. Things of note are the impression the stereotypical native, a farmer who likes to work with his hands and 'go down the pub for a pint' and have a fight at the end of the night; a definite British feel to the idea. He also mentions the world as a farm planet providing food for the twelve colonies. How much truth there is to this is unknown. It is potentially possible he was exaggerating this to fit in with his idea of a two tier society.

Caprica is a large blue-green planet. Its largest population center is [[Caprica City]], which serves as the seat of all three branches of the Colonial [[Government]], making Caprica effectively the capital of the Twelve Colonies. Caprica City is surrounded by other small towns and hamlets, such as [[Oasis]].

Thus far, Caprica is the only planet of the Twelve Colonies that viewers have seen directly. The series' opening credits show Caprica City, as well as the nuclear bombing of Caprica itself.

Other major cities included [[Delphi]], famous for the [[Delphi Museum of the Colonies]] and also home to a large spaceport. During the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|Cylon attack]], the Cylons spared Delphi from nuclear bombardment in order to use it as a base of operations in their occupation of the planet. The human [[Caprica Resistance|resistance]] cell, led by [[Samuel Anders]], operated near Delphi.

Caprica is known for its fine Caprican cloth (which Dr. [[Gaius Baltar]] wears), [[fumarella leaf]], [[Caprican Imperial|Caprican cigars]] and art.

A railway line can be seen below the balcony of Baltar's house on Caprica during "[[The Hand of God (RDM)|The Hand of God]]." What appear to be internal combustion engine powered vehicles, such as cars and trucks, are seen extensively in shots of Caprica.

According to [[Gaius Baltar]], Caprica was the seat of politics, culture, art, science, and learning. It was also one of the wealthier colonies. ([[Dirty Hands]])

One of these acts include blowing up a government building ([[Bastille Day]]). Under Sagittaron penal law, convicted felons lose their citizenship, but have it automatically reinstated after they finish serving their sentences. The Sagittarons practice a form of the [[Religion in the Twelve Colonies (RDM)|Colonial religion]] that can trace its roots for at least over 1,000 years. Like the Gemenese, they developed a staunch religious stance but with possibly a greater emphasis on traditional folk practice than scripture. They view medicine as "an abomination, a sin against the gods." This stubbornness has led to a bitter dislike by the other Colonies. During the Second Exodus, the bitterness is reinforced by the fact that many Sagittarons on New Caprica did not help to fight the Cylons, suggesting that the Sagittarons are also pacifists by nature.

The Sagittarons practice a form of [[Wikipedia:herbalism|herbal medicine]], which has lead to derogatory terms such as "stubborn rootsucking jackasses". Dr. [[Michael Robert]] expresses skepticism about its effectiveness, however his statement implies that there has not been any serious research on the subject ([[The Woman King]]).

The articles will be renamed based on our current naming procedure in managing multi-part episodes. I am not sure why, but my entires on Valkyrie, Eugene Novacek and Admiral Corman which were primarily just images uploaded onto the pages were deleted...I don't get it, doesn't it help to have pictures to refer to the subject the page is discussing. If it is a matter of spoiling future episodes with these pictures, readers are imformed at the top of the page which all of the above mentioned pages have, that the page is a spoiler. If it is my own fault for not siting where i got the images taking them down isn't exactly the answer, why not modify them yourselves. I realize I am a huge amateur so, discussing this for me will help myself and possibly others.

I have what might be a dumb question, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here it is: Does anyone think it would be a good idea to create an article for Firefly-class transports? I mean, a Firefly class ship could be seen in the skies of Caprica in the miniseries, so it might be worthy of an article. The reason I am asking is because the Star Wars Wiki has an article for Firefly class ships (see: [[Wookiepedia:Firefly-class mid-bulk transport|Firefly-class mid-bulk transport]]). Basically, since a Firefly-class ship was shown on a single panel of a Star Wars Webstrip, it was deemed worthy of it's own article on the Star Wars Wiki, so I was thinking that since a Firefly could be seen in the Galactica miniseries, it might be worth an article here as well. One of the stats on the Lurker's guide episode guides were a "P5 Rating", an informal poll rating the episodes. Would that be of value? Personally, I'd almost rather see something more like the last vote in the Coaches poll for college football, where the votes are published. Something with the user, the rating, and maybe a brief explanation of why they rated it like they did. My only fear is that may degenerate into cross-talk and vote manipulation ("I voted a 1 because User:Starbuck_Rocks_My_World is an idiot and voted it a 10 when it should really be more like a 6 but she just really like Starbuck episodes.") I've been reading the wikipedia here as well as several other sources which state the number of Vipers/pilots in a typical Colonial fighter squadron is 20. This is based largely on the visual evidence in the miniseries where Ripper's flight of 20 Vipers is destroyed by 2 Raiders. But it should be noted that this figure did not include Starbuck (she was in the brig) or Apollo (Starbuck's replacement in the fly by but is Colonial 798's escort). When Kara is released out of the brig, she reports 20 pilots in the ready room "climbing the walls" in addition to herself. ==Trivia and Slideshows==
Since I have been under the weather for nearly a month (at one time I was hospitalized for a possible heart attack and still don't know if I did or not), I have had a lot of time just to sit around and think. A couple of ideas is a central trivia page (especially for the TOS) and a summary slideshow (each line in a episode gets a shot). I know the slideshow would be a lot of work and possibly cause bandwidth concerns (maybe copyright issues?). An easy solution that I played around with was a link to an image at the end of a summary point for just the most suitable points. Just trying to find a way to interject more images without "junking up" the articles. Also, a simple gallery subpage make work also. Of all the episode articles, the Miniseries article is most nonstandard, with much information that has been discussed ''ad nauseum'' in many other articles on Battlestar Wiki. As with any episode article, the content should reflect the parts aired, the significant summary of events, and brief questions and analysis generated by the initial broadcast (many of which has been answered).

The current format has extended analysis in the second part, most of which is painfully redundant with [[Battlestar Galactica (RDM)]] and many, many other articles. I will be revising both parts to reflect their episodic nature, separating the events in each part, with questions and analysis for each episode. The articles will be renamed based on our current naming procedure in managing multi-part episodes. Both parts will avoid extended questions and analysis as much from the miniseries has been answered, but will point to the episodes and other articles that answer these questions. I am not sure why, but my entires on Valkyrie, Eugene Novacek and Admiral Corman which were primarily just images uploaded onto the pages were deleted...I don't get it, doesn't it help to have pictures to refer to the subject the page is discussing. If it is a matter of spoiling future episodes with these pictures, readers are imformed at the top of the page which all of the above mentioned pages have, that the page is a spoiler. If it is my own fault for not siting where i got the images taking them down isn't exactly the answer, why not modify them yourselves. I realize I am a huge amateur so, discussing this for me will help myself and possibly others.

I have what might be a dumb question, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here it is: Does anyone think it would be a good idea to create an article for Firefly-class transports? I mean, a Firefly class ship could be seen in the skies of Caprica in the miniseries, so it might be worthy of an article. The reason I am asking is because the Star Wars Wiki has an article for Firefly class ships (see: [[Wookiepedia:Firefly-class mid-bulk transport|Firefly-class mid-bulk transport]]). Basically, since a Firefly-class ship was shown on a single panel of a Star Wars Webstrip, it was deemed worthy of it's own article on the Star Wars Wiki, so I was thinking that since a Firefly could be seen in the Galactica miniseries, it might be worth an article here as well. One of the stats on the Lurker's guide episode guides were a "P5 Rating", an informal poll rating the episodes. Would that be of value? Personally, I'd almost rather see something more like the last vote in the Coaches poll for college football, where the votes are published. Something with the user, the rating, and maybe a brief explanation of why they rated it like they did. My only fear is that may degenerate into cross-talk and vote manipulation ("I voted a 1 because User:Starbuck_Rocks_My_World is an idiot and voted it a 10 when it should really be more like a 6 but she just really like Starbuck episodes.") I've been reading the wikipedia here as well as several other sources which state the number of Vipers/pilots in a typical Colonial fighter squadron is 20. This is based largely on the visual evidence in the miniseries where Ripper's flight of 20 Vipers is destroyed by 2 Raiders. But it should be noted that this figure did not include Starbuck (she was in the brig) or Apollo (Starbuck's replacement in the fly by but is Colonial 798's escort). When Kara is released out of the brig, she reports 20 pilots in the ready room "climbing the walls" in addition to herself. ==Trivia and Slideshows==
Since I have been under the weather for nearly a month (at one time I was hospitalized for a possible heart attack and still don't know if I did or not), I have had a lot of time just to sit around and think. A couple of ideas is a central trivia page (especially for the TOS) and a summary slideshow (each line in a episode gets a shot). I know the slideshow would be a lot of work and possibly cause bandwidth concerns (maybe copyright issues?). An easy solution that I played around with was a link to an image at the end of a summary point for just the most suitable points. Just trying to find a way to interject more images without "junking up" the articles. Also, a simple gallery subpage make work also. Of all the episode articles, the Miniseries article is most nonstandard, with much information that has been discussed ''ad nauseum'' in many other articles on Battlestar Wiki. As with any episode article, the content should reflect the parts aired, the significant summary of events, and brief questions and analysis generated by the initial broadcast (many of which has been answered).

The current format has extended analysis in the second part, most of which is painfully redundant with [[Battlestar Galactica (RDM)]] and many, many other articles. I will be revising both parts to reflect their episodic nature, separating the events in each part, with questions and analysis for each episode. The articles will be renamed based on our current naming procedure in managing multi-part episodes. Both parts will avoid extended questions and analysis as much from the miniseries has been answered, but will point to the episodes and other articles that answer these questions. I am not sure why, but my entires on Valkyrie, Eugene Novacek and Admiral Corman which were primarily just images uploaded onto the pages were deleted...I don't get it, doesn't it help to have pictures to refer to the subject the page is discussing. If it is a matter of spoiling future episodes with these pictures, readers are imformed at the top of the page which all of the above mentioned pages have, that the page is a spoiler. If it is my own fault for not siting where i got the images taking them down isn't exactly the answer, why not modify them yourselves. I realize I am a huge amateur so, discussing this for me will help myself and possibly others.

I have what might be a dumb question, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here it is: Does anyone think it would be a good idea to create an article for Firefly-class transports? I mean, a Firefly class ship could be seen in the skies of Caprica in the miniseries, so it might be worthy of an article. The reason I am asking is because the Star Wars Wiki has an article for Firefly class ships (see: [[Wookiepedia:Firefly-class mid-bulk transport|Firefly-class mid-bulk transport]]). Basically, since a Firefly-class ship was shown on a single panel of a Star Wars Webstrip, it was deemed worthy of it's own article on the Star Wars Wiki, so I was thinking that since a Firefly could be seen in the Galactica miniseries, it might be worth an article here as well. One of the stats on the Lurker's guide episode guides were a "P5 Rating", an informal poll rating the episodes. Would that be of value? Personally, I'd almost rather see something more like the last vote in the Coaches poll for college football, where the votes are published. Something with the user, the rating, and maybe a brief explanation of why they rated it like they did. My only fear is that may degenerate into cross-talk and vote manipulation ("I voted a 1 because User:Starbuck_Rocks_My_World is an idiot and voted it a 10 when it should really be more like a 6 but she just really like Starbuck episodes.") I noticed that this wiki doesn't have an article about Martial arts or hand-to-hand combat. why isn't there one? == Number of pilots in a squadron? ==

I've been reading the wikipedia here as well as several other sources which state the number of Vipers/pilots in a typical Colonial fighter squadron is 20. This is based largely on the visual evidence in the miniseries where Ripper's flight of 20 Vipers is destroyed by 2 Raiders. But it should be noted that this figure did not include Starbuck (she was in the brig) or Apollo (Starbuck's replacement in the fly by but is Colonial 798's escort). When Kara is released out of the brig, she reports 20 pilots in the ready room "climbing the walls" in addition to herself. I can't view any of the images on the site, what I get in their place is the "No Hotlinking!" image, and I don't know how to sort this out. Please help {{unsigned|TopGun}}

I'm using FireFox version 2, I haven't been hot-linking off-site apart from following a link on imdb.com (well mostly copy and pasting as most members of the imbd mbs don't know how to put proper links in their posts). ==Trivia and Slideshows==
Since I have been under the weather for nearly a month (at one time I was hospitalized for a possible heart attack and still don't know if I did or not), I have had a lot of time just to sit around and think. A couple of ideas is a central trivia page (especially for the TOS) and a summary slideshow (each line in a episode gets a shot). I know the slideshow would be a lot of work and possibly cause bandwidth concerns (maybe copyright issues?). An easy solution that I played around with was a link to an image at the end of a summary point for just the most suitable points. Just trying to find a way to interject more images without "junking up" the articles. Also, a simple gallery subpage make work also. I added a small piece to the Baltar as a Cylon article and it has subsequently been removed witj instructions to check my email.

The only email I see is one to activate my account.

Therefore

- If my article was removed on purely administrative grounds can i get apprival to replace it? And is it stored in some form of recent changes/recycling bin style thing soI do n't have to retype it.
- If it was not what did I do wrong?
