*In an unhappy childhood, Thrace was so frequently beaten by her mother that she came to accept pain as a way of life ([[Flesh and Bone]]).
*Her father was a pianist ([[Valley of Darkness]]), suggesting that her formerly broken finger bones on both hands had been intentionally broken by a parent using her father's piano ([[The Farm]]).
*Thrace left home to join the [[Colonial Fleet|military]].
* She was a very talented [[pyramid]] player ([[Resistance (episode)|Resistance]]), and received a scholarship to the Fleet Academy to play pyramid. During this time, she injured her knee and was no longer able to play pyramid at a professional level. During that time, however, she discovered a passion and skill at being a fighter pilot ([[Podcast:The Hand of God]]). On graduating from Colonial Flight School, she undertook a period of active duty before returning to flight school as an instructor.
*Thrace fell in love with a young recruit, [[Zak Adama]]. Despite his mediocre performance, she passed him on his final flight examination, despite failing three of the required maneuvers ([[Act of Contrition]]).
*Thrace's engagement to Zak Adama ends when he was killed during a routine mission shortly after graduating. At the time, [[Lee Adama]], Zak's elder brother, blamed their father for Zak Adama's death. In her guilt, Thrace did little to alter this idea. She did, however, meet [[William Adama]] shortly after the accident, and the two struck up such a strong rapport that they stood together at the funeral ([[Act of Contrition]]).

*Thrace's attitude quickly runs her afoul of Colonel [[Saul Tigh]], ''Galactica's'' [[Executive officer]]. Their open mutual dislike of one another leads to the point where blows are exchanged, with Thrace ending up in the brig ([[Miniseries]]).
*While in the brig, Captain Spencer is killed in a Cylon slaughter of ''Galactica's'' last [[Viper Mark VII|Viper]] squadron. Lee "Apollo" Adama, who joins ''Galactica'', is given the senior pilot title.
*Thrace manages to keep two of three nuclear missiles from striking ''Galactica'' in their first Cylon sortie, and saves Captain Adama from doom in an innovative maneuver in the [[Battle of Ragnar Anchorage]].
*Her skills in saving Apollo brings her grudging respect from Colonel Tigh, but she is unable to accept his offer of the olive branch - an act that will have repercussions for her later.

Following the successful mission, Thrace tries to mend fences between herself and Colonel Tigh with a toast (consisting of water), apologizing in much the same way as Tigh himself had tried after their initial escape from [[Ragnar Anchorage]]. But Tigh rejects Thrace's apology, stating that her flaws are professional, while his flaws were personal ([[Bastille Day]]).
*Thrace eventually admits her secret about Zak Adama to William Adama himself, an act that brings their close friendship almost to the breaking point ([[Act of Contrition]]).
*During a surprise encounter with Cylons during [[nugget]] training, Starbuck destroys several Cylon Raiders, but her ship is damaged and tumbles towards a small red moon with an unbreathable atmosphere. Disobeying orders to retrieve the [[Arrow of Apollo]] by President Roslin's request, disillusioned by Commander Adama, she Jumps to Caprica ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I]]), landing in [[Delphi]].
*In the [[Delphi Museum of the Colonies]] with the Arrow, she is violently attacked by a copy of [[Number Six]]. Despite being heavily outmatched in the fight, Thrace luckily defeats the Cylon.
*At the museum, she reunites with [[Karl Agathon|Helo]], whom she thought dead, and discovers a second copy of [[Sharon Valerii]], realizing instantly that the woman is a Cylon.
*Valerii, fearing for her child, steals Thrace's Raider. In exasperation, Starbuck could only mutter: "Bitch took my ride" ([[Scattered]]). Like Helo, Starbuck was left with no way to return to the Fleet unless she could find her Raider or another Cylon spacecraft, as enemy FTL engines were the only ones sufficently powerful to reach the Fleet.
*Starbuck berates Helo's love for the Caprica copy of Valerii. Thrace finds the keys of her surplus military utility vehicle in her old jacket in her old apartment. Thrace has a ride again, if only to move more efficiently about Caprica ([[Valley of Darkness]]).
*Thrace and Helo meet a [[Caprica Resistance|resistance movement]] on Caprica. Thrace and [[Samuel Anders]] strike up a rapport as fellow [[pyramid (RDM)|pyramid]] players and end up as lovers.
*During planning to steal a [[Heavy Raider]], Thrace is shot in a military action, waking up in a hospital on Caprica. Thrace is told by her doctor, [[Simon]], that Anders died from wounds he suffered in getting Thrace to safety.
*Thrace discovers that Simon is working with a [[Number Six|known Cylon agent]]. She overhears that the next day he plans to extract her ovaries for use in the Cylon's attempts to study and create a hybrid Cylon/human embryo. Simon also makes the mistake of calling Thrace by her callsign, Starbuck, which she had never revealed.
*Staggering and in pain, Thrace kills Simon and escapes the hospital, but not before clocking a Six copy with a fire extinguisher and destroying the local farm power supply, mercy-killing [[Sue-Shaun]] and several other women in the facility.
*Another Simon copy appears just as the Resistance attacks the facility. The second Simon, now revealed as a Cylon agent himself, is immediately killed by the Resistance, but a squad of [[Cylon Centurion]]s appear and pins the Resistance down. Luckily, Helo's [[Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy)|copy of Sharon Valerii]] swoops in with a stolen [[Heavy Raider]], destroys the Centurions and flies the Resistance and Thrace out of harm's way.
*Thrace promises to Anders that she'll [[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I|return with a rescue mission]] for the remaining survivors. Anders returns the Arrow of Apollo to Thrace, which he hid on the resistance grounds for safekeeping ([[The Farm]]).
*Thrace, Helo and the pregnant Valerii land on the ''[[Astral Queen]]'' in the Heavy Raider. Finding the [[Laura Roslin faction]] in orbit of [[Kobol]], Thrace is reunited with Lee Adama. He kisses her impulsively, catching Thrace by pleasant surprise, but a tense standoff follows when Adama discovers that another Valerii copy has returned with them. Roslin helps defuse the situation, and Thrace delivers the Arrow of Apollo to the President.
*Temporarily removed from miltary protoco, Lee Adama playfully teases Thrace by stealing a pyramid ball she took from Caprica. Adama senses her depression about Caprica and tells her that he'd be happy to hear about any problems she had. He also let slip that he loved her, which brightened Thrace's mood to the point where she teased him back about his slip.
*With a team led by Laura Roslin, Lee Adama, and, later, joined by the recovered Commander Adama, Thrace enters the [[Tomb of Athena]] and successfully uses the Arrow of Apollo to activate a hologram that shows constellations of the Twelve Colonies' ancient symbols.

She is the fifth vote to find Gaeta of Treason and Collaboration. Kara's involvement in the Circle precipitates the breakup of the marriage between Anders and Kara. Later in one of Galactica's [[launch tubes]] Gaeta is about to be sentenced and executed she demands Gaeta to beg for his life after he refuses to do so. She physically assaults him and goes down the litany of "lies" that Gaeta told her earlier about him helping the [[New Caprica Resistance|insurgency]]. As she does so [[Galen Tyrol]], one of the Circle's jurors and the sixth vote to convict, over hears this and confirms the story. Kara, in a senses of confusion after learning that Gaeta was telling the truth leaves the launch tube ([[Collaborators]]).

D'Anna Biers appears to be more of a tabloid rumor-and-innuendo format news journalist and less of the conventional Fleet journalist types such as [[James McManus]].

Biers is investigating the shootings of four civilians during a military intervention authorized by Colonel [[Saul Tigh|Tigh]] in what she dubs for sensationalism's sake as the ''"[[Gideon]] massacre"''. Her efforts to interview ''[[Galactica]]'s'' crew are constantly thwarted by military protocol and stonewalling by Commander [[William Adama|Adama]], who privately acknowledges Tigh's mistakes, but seems adamant not to render any punishment.

The social and political repercussions of the ''[[Gideon]]'' incident become too much for President [[Laura Roslin]] to ignore. The citizens of the Fleet are becoming critical of ''Galactica'' and wonder if the military places itself at a different level of self-responsibility than its citizens. Working with Commander Adama, President Roslin invites Biers aboard ''[[Colonial One]]'' and proposes something interesting to the reporter. Adama and Roslin will give Biers "unlimited" access to ''Galactica'' and her crew to create a documentary on what it is like to be the last defensive group of the Twelve Colonies, as well as allowing her to interview many of the crew on the ''Gideon'' incident.

Biers is initially given a tour of the battlestar by Petty Officer [[Anastasia Dualla]], but finds the nuts-and-bolts technology and layout information boring. She and her photographer, [[Bell]], prefer to record and interview the candid moments of ''Galactica's'' crew--even going so far as entering the senior pilot's quarters, where a scantily-clad [[Lee Adama]] finds the intrusion most unwelcome.

Biers begins in-depth personal interviews with many of the crew, including Dualla, Lieutenants [[Felix Gaeta|Gaeta]], [[Margaret Edmondson]], [[Kara Thrace]] and [[Karl Agathon]], as well as attempts to interview command staff such as Colonel Tigh. Of all the interviews, she desperately wants to ask Tigh many questions on his decisions in the ''Gideon'' incident, but Tigh stonewalls and evades her questions, partially from his annoyance in the situation, but also because he is distracted by a mysterious death threat left in his quarters: a verse of a poem from a Caprican poet known as [[Kataris]].

Biers appears to be in the right place at the wrong times throughout her documentary filming. She captures the growing behavioral problems with Lieutenant [[Louanne Katraine]], a Viper pilot who later crash-lands her Viper after failing a routine landing and is found to have been abusing [[stims]] because of the pressures she endures from the loss of her family and friends as well as the demands of being a Viper pilot. Biers also captures the sabotage to a [[Raptor]] that was intended to shuttle Colonel Tigh to ''[[Cloud Nine]]'' for some downtime for the colonel as well as a bit of business on orders of Commander Adama.

As Biers passes through [[sickbay]] during her documentary, she makes a highly unusual find. [[Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy)|Sharon Valerii]] is alive and being treated in sickbay. The existence of this second copy of the known [[Cylon agent|Cylon infiltrator]], who was thought to be dead by [[The Fleet (RDM)|The Fleet]], is too much for Biers not to document. However, Commander Adama intercepts Biers and demands that she give him the intriguing footage of Valerii. Biers pointedly asks why Adama is harboring this known Cylon in secret aboard the ship, and suggests that news of Valerii's existence could ruin Adama in the eyes of the Fleet. Adama evades the question and redirects it at Biers, asking whether exposure of this second Valerii's existence to the Fleet would do anyone any good. She surrenders a tape to Adama, but unknown to him, Biers retains the actual footage of Valerii in secret for herself.

Biers gets an opportunity to document what happens in [[CIC]] during a Cylon Raider raid at the Fleet.

As Biers is editing the documentary, reviewing the footage from the senior pilot's quarters, she sees [[Joe Palladino]] on his bunk with a copy of a book by Kataris. Biers' knowledge of Palladino's involvement in the ''Gideon'' incident immediately determines that Palladino is the likely suspect in the death threats. She and Bell grab their photo gear and rush to Tigh's quarters to find that Palladino has bound Tigh's wife, [[Ellen Tigh|Ellen]] and threatens to shoot Colonel Tigh with a sidearm. Tigh manages to talk the agitated lieutenant down and disarm him, where [[Colonial Marine Corps|marines]] take the wayward Viper pilot away.

Bier's final documentary is reviewed by Tigh, Adama, and President Roslin. While Tigh is initially perturbed at the documentary's unshiny look into Colonial military life, Adama finds it a good story, "warts and all." The documentary is broadcast to the Fleet, with Biers concluding the documentary with a rousing monologue:

:"I came to ''Galactica'' to tell a story. In all honesty, I thought I knew what that story was before I ever set foot here. How an arrogant military let their egos get in the way of doing their job safeguarding the lives of the civilian population. But I found the truth was more complex than that. These people aren't Cylons. They're not robots blindly following orders and polishing their boots. They're people. Deeply flawed, yes, but deeply human too. And maybe that's saying the same thing. What struck me the most is that despite it all: the hardships, the stress, the ever-present danger of being killed-- despite all that, they never give up. Never lie down in the road and let the truck run them over. They wake up in the morning, put on their uniforms, and do their jobs. Every day, no pay. No rest. No hope of ever laying down the burden and letting someone else do the job. There are no relief troops coming, no Colonial fleet training new recruits every day. The people on ''Galactica'' are '''it'''. They are the thin line of blue separating us from the Cylons."

:"Lieutenant Gaeta told me a remarkable statistic. Not a single member of ''Galactica's'' crew has asked to resign. Not one. Think about that. If you wore the uniform, wouldn't you want to quit? To step aside and say, "Enough. Let someone else protect the Fleet." I know I would. But then, I don't wear a uniform. Most of us don't, most of us never will. The story of ''Galactica'' isn't that people make bad decisions under pressure. It's that those mistakes are the exception. Most of the time, the men and women serving under Commander Adama get it right. The proof is that our fleet survives. And with ''Galactica'' at our side, we will endure. This is D'Anna Biers, Fleet News Service."

But the Fleet is not the only group that sees the documentary. A group of humanoid Cylons on Caprica--copies of [[Aaron Doral]], [[Number Six]], another [[Sharon Valerii]] copy and one other person, hidden from view initially in the theater where they sit, watch Biers' documentary (including, surprisingly, the footage of the Sharon Valerii copy in sickbay that Adama had presumably confiscated) with great interest. The Valerii copy remarks in surprise about the survival of her pregnant doppleganger on ''Galactica'', and the others are very intent on monitoring the pregnancy and survival of the Cylon/human hybrid fetus. The mysterious 4th person in the theater is revealed: a second copy of D'Anna Biers, which notes that the Raiders that intercepted ''Galactica'' were used to relay the documentary and its forbidden footage of Valerii from themselves to a nearby Cylon fleet for transmission to Caprica, at the price of some loss of Cylon material.

Another version of Number Three was also in charge of "Downloading" [[Cylon agent]]s, and presided over the returns of both [[Caprica-Six]] and [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|Sharon]]. Like her counterpart in the movie theater, she is assisted by a Five, Six, and Eight.

Yet another Three (or possibly one of the previous two) enlisted "[[Caprica-Six]]" to help "reintegrate" the Sharon Valerii model known to humans as "Boomer" (Three and Six were previously friends from Six's own reintegration). Though her motives were outwardly altruistic, her conversation with them is filled with double meanings, trying to subtlely nudge both into exposing that they were "corrupted" by their close human interaction. Three's real goal is to assess the risk factor of these "Heroes of the Cylon" to the status quo, due to their different perpectives on the war and the genocide, and later [[boxing|box]] their consciousnesses when she became convinced they were a threat to the Cylon collective society.

Three is later trapped with both Caprica Six and "Boomer" Valerii beneath a garage after capturing [[Anders]]. With a hint from her internal "Gaius Baltar", Six deduces the truth. Shortly thereafter, Three resolves to kill Anders in spite of her previous agreement. But "Caprica" proves Three's assessment correct, and smashes her in the skull with debris ([[Downloaded]]).

Number Three (or at least this particular Number Three) appears to be a strict devotee of the [[Cylon Religion|Cylon religion]].

:''In Lucy Lawless' words "She's like the ultimate narcissist. She believes that she is the pure form, so she is constantly trying to bring everyone else in line with her worldview". D'Anna Biers was supposed to appear in a subplot of "Downloaded" in which she conspired with [[Gina]] to kidnap [[Hera]]. The episode ran overtime and the scenes, which were indeed filmed, were cut.''

Number Three again demonstrates her orational skills by giving a speech at the graduation ceremony of the [[New Caprica Police]] in "[[Occupation]]" and is blown up shortly afterwards, along with many of the other attendees, by [[Tucker Clellan|Tucker "Duck" Clellan]], whom she has just congratulated.

In "[[Exodus, Part I]]" Number Three visits an Oracle on [[New Caprica]] after having strange dreams that caused her to question her faith. These dreams, which focused on [[Sharon Agathon]] and her baby [[Hera]], led her to seek out more information about the death of the child. After speaking with Doctor Cottle, she was convinced that the child was still alive. She would confront Sharon with this information after discovering her on the planet, only to be shot once in each knee so that she couldn't signal for help from the other nearby Cylons.

After escaping New Caprica, Three visits a captured Baltar in his room aboard a Cylon Baseship. She gives him his pills, at the same time as she acts in an interestingly seductive manner with him. Baltar however, seems to reject her, asking about what will be done to him. Three tells him that the Cylons are unsure of his vote, and that they are even split on what to do with him, with only one model missing from the vote and on whom the decisions rests, the Sixes.([[Collaborators]])

*Since Biers has not appeared in past episodes that feature the fleet-wide press, it can be speculated that prior to the [[Cylon Attack]], she was more of a tabloid investigative reporter than a mainstream journalist. She may also simply be a social commentator along the lines of [[w:Michael Moore|Michael Moore]] or [[w:Ann Coulter|Ann Coulter]], though her status prior to the holocaust was never revealed.

Of all the interviews, she desperately wants to ask Tigh many questions on his decisions in the ''Gideon'' incident, but Tigh stonewalls and evades her questions, partially from his annoyance in the situation, but also because he is distracted by a mysterious death threat left in his quarters: a verse of a poem from a Caprican poet known as [[Kataris]].

Biers appears to be in the right place at the wrong times throughout her documentary filming. She captures the growing behavioral problems with Lieutenant [[Louanne Katraine]], a Viper pilot who later crash-lands her Viper after failing a routine landing and is found to have been abusing [[stims]] because of the pressures she endures from the loss of her family and friends as well as the demands of being a Viper pilot. Biers also captures the sabotage to a [[Raptor]] that was intended to shuttle Colonel Tigh to ''[[Cloud Nine]]'' for some downtime for the colonel as well as a bit of business on orders of Commander Adama.

As Biers passes through [[sickbay]] during her documentary, she makes a highly unusual find. [[Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy)|Sharon Valerii]] is alive and being treated in sickbay. The existence of this second copy of the known [[Cylon agent|Cylon infiltrator]], who was thought to be dead by [[The Fleet (RDM)|The Fleet]], is too much for Biers not to document. However, Commander Adama intercepts Biers and demands that she give him the intriguing footage of Valerii. Biers pointedly asks why Adama is harboring this known Cylon in secret aboard the ship, and suggests that news of Valerii's existence could ruin Adama in the eyes of the Fleet. Adama evades the question and redirects it at Biers, asking whether exposure of this second Valerii's existence to the Fleet would do anyone any good. She surrenders a tape to Adama, but unknown to him, Biers retains the actual footage of Valerii in secret for herself.

Biers gets an opportunity to document what happens in [[CIC]] during a Cylon Raider raid at the Fleet.

As Biers is editing the documentary, reviewing the footage from the senior pilot's quarters, she sees [[Joe Palladino]] on his bunk with a copy of a book by Kataris. Biers' knowledge of Palladino's involvement in the ''Gideon'' incident immediately determines that Palladino is the likely suspect in the death threats. She and Bell grab their photo gear and rush to Tigh's quarters to find that Palladino has bound Tigh's wife, [[Ellen Tigh|Ellen]] and threatens to shoot Colonel Tigh with a sidearm. Tigh manages to talk the agitated lieutenant down and disarm him, where [[Colonial Marine Corps|marines]] take the wayward Viper pilot away.

Bier's final documentary is reviewed by Tigh, Adama, and President Roslin. While Tigh is initially perturbed at the documentary's unshiny look into Colonial military life, Adama finds it a good story, "warts and all." The documentary is broadcast to the Fleet, with Biers concluding the documentary with a rousing monologue:

:"I came to ''Galactica'' to tell a story. In all honesty, I thought I knew what that story was before I ever set foot here. How an arrogant military let their egos get in the way of doing their job safeguarding the lives of the civilian population. But I found the truth was more complex than that. These people aren't Cylons. They're not robots blindly following orders and polishing their boots. They're people. Deeply flawed, yes, but deeply human too. And maybe that's saying the same thing. What struck me the most is that despite it all: the hardships, the stress, the ever-present danger of being killed-- despite all that, they never give up. Never lie down in the road and let the truck run them over. They wake up in the morning, put on their uniforms, and do their jobs. Every day, no pay. No rest. No hope of ever laying down the burden and letting someone else do the job. There are no relief troops coming, no Colonial fleet training new recruits every day. The people on ''Galactica'' are '''it'''. They are the thin line of blue separating us from the Cylons."

:"Lieutenant Gaeta told me a remarkable statistic. Not a single member of ''Galactica's'' crew has asked to resign. Not one. Think about that. If you wore the uniform, wouldn't you want to quit? To step aside and say, "Enough. Let someone else protect the Fleet." I know I would. But then, I don't wear a uniform. Most of us don't, most of us never will. The story of ''Galactica'' isn't that people make bad decisions under pressure. It's that those mistakes are the exception. Most of the time, the men and women serving under Commander Adama get it right. The proof is that our fleet survives. And with ''Galactica'' at our side, we will endure. This is D'Anna Biers, Fleet News Service."

But the Fleet is not the only group that sees the documentary. A group of humanoid Cylons on Caprica--copies of [[Aaron Doral]], [[Number Six]], another [[Sharon Valerii]] copy and one other person, hidden from view initially in the theater where they sit, watch Biers' documentary (including, surprisingly, the footage of the Sharon Valerii copy in sickbay that Adama had presumably confiscated) with great interest. The Valerii copy remarks in surprise about the survival of her pregnant doppleganger on ''Galactica'', and the others are very intent on monitoring the pregnancy and survival of the Cylon/human hybrid fetus. The mysterious 4th person in the theater is revealed: a second copy of D'anna Biers, which notes that the Raiders that intercepted ''Galactica'' were used to relay the documentary and its forbidden footage of Valerii from themselves to a nearby Cylon fleet for transmission to Caprica, at the price of some loss of Cylon material.

Another version of Number Three was also in charge of "Downloading" [[Cylon agent]]s, and presided over the returns of both [[Caprica-Six]] and [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|Sharon]]. Like her counterpart in the movie theater, she is assisted by a Five, Six, and Eight.

Yet another Three (or possibly one of the previous two) enlisted "[[Caprica-Six]]" to help "reintegrate" the Sharon Valerii model known to humans as "Boomer" (Three and Six were previously friends from Six's own reintegration). Though her motives were outwardly altruistic, her conversation with them is filled with double meanings, trying to subtlely nudge both into exposing that they were "corrupted" by their close human interaction. Three's real goal is to assess the risk factor of these "Heroes of the Cylon" to the status quo, due to their different perpectives on the war and the genocide, and later [[boxing|box]] their consciousnesses when she became convinced they were a threat to the Cylon collective society.

Three is later trapped with both Caprica Six and "Boomer" Valerii beneath a garage after capturing [[Anders]]. With a hint from her internal "Gaius Baltar", Six deduces the truth. Shortly thereafter, Three resolves to kill Anders in spite of her previous agreement. But "Caprica" proves Three's assessment correct, and smashes her in the skull with debris ([[Downloaded]]).

Number Three (or at least this particular Number Three) appears to be a strict devotee of the [[Cylon Religion|Cylon religion]].

D'Anna Biers was supposed to appear in a subplot of "Downloaded" in which she conspired with [[Gina]] to kidnap [[Hera]]. Number Three again demonstrates her orational skills by giving a speech at the graduation ceremony of the [[New Caprica Police]] in "[[Occupation]]" and is blown up shortly afterwards, along with many of the other attendees, by [[Tucker Clellan|Tucker "Duck" Clellan]], whom she has just congratulated.

In "[[Exodus, Part I]]" Number Three visits an Oracle on [[New Caprica]] after having strange dreams that caused her to question her faith. These dreams, which focused on [[Sharon Agathon]] and her baby [[Hera]], led her to seek out more information about the death of the child. After speaking with Doctor Cottle, she was convinced that the child was still alive. She would confront Sharon with this information after discovering her on the planet, only to be shot once in each knee so that she couldn't signal for help from the other nearby Cylons.

After escaping New Caprica, Three visits a captured Baltar in his room aboard a Cylon Baseship. She gives him his pills, at the same time as she acts in an interestingly seductive manner with him. Baltar however, seems to reject her, asking about what will be done to him. Three tells him that the Cylons are unsure of his vote, and that they are even split on what to do with him, with only one model missing from the vote and on whom the decisions rests, the Sixes.([[Collaborators]])

*Since Biers has not appeared in past episodes that feature the fleet-wide press, it can be speculated that prior to the [[Cylon Attack]], she was more of a tabloid investigative reporter than a mainstream journalist. She may also simply be a social commentator along the lines of [[w:Michael Moore|Michael Moore]] or [[w:Ann Coulter|Ann Coulter]], though her status prior to the holocaust was never revealed.

'''The Circle''' is the name given to a tribunal authorized by President [[Tom Zarek]] that operates on ''[[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]]''. The task of this tribunal is to decide the fate of people placed on a suspect list of those implicated as collaborators during the Cylon occupation of [[New Caprica]].

The Circle's initial members include [[Saul Tigh]], [[Galen Tyrol]], [[Samuel Anders]], [[Seelix]], [[Jean Barolay]], and [[Charlie Connor]]. Six votes are required in order to pass judgment when "the question" concerning the fate of a suspected or implicated collaborator is raised. After the trials and executions of thirteen collaborators, Anders decides that he is no longer able to handle the emotional burden of deciding the life or death decisions made by the group. His membership in The Circle is filled by his wife, [[Kara Thrace]].

The suspect list includes [[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]] military personnel [[James Lyman]] and [[Felix Gaeta]]. The Circle convicts Lyman for perpetrating crimes against humanity and executes him by expulsion through one of Galactica's [[launch tubes]]. Gaeta, who had served as a presidential aide to [[Gaius Baltar]] on New Caprica is also convicted by The Circle of crimes against humanity. Just before Gaeta is to be executed, Tyrol is able to confirm that it was Gaeta who served as the "inside source" during the occupation of New Caprica, passing top-secret information to the resistance. Tyrol convinces the other members of The Circle to stave the execution and Gaeta is released.

Fifty-six other suspected collaborators on the list are not tried. The Circle disbands when newly reinstated President [[Laura Roslin]] grants general pardons for all collaborators ([[Collaborators]]).

Presumed lost with the rest of the Colonial military fleet, ''Pegasus'' actually managed to escape the destruction of the Colonies when Admiral [[Helena Cain]] ordered a [[blind jump]]. While saving the battlestar, it was not the end of their troubles. An indeterminate amount of time later, the [[cylon agent]] known as [[Gina]] allowed a party of [[Cylon Centurion|Cylon Centurions]] to board the ship, resulting in approximately 700 deaths. When Gina was found out, she killed 7 men before she was subdued. Once she was imprisoned, ''Pegasus''' commander instituted a new policy of Cylon interrogation - brutal gangrape.

Although ''Pegasus'' is advanced enough to have the [[Command Navigation Program]] installed, which the Cylons used as a backdoor, ''Pegasus'' had just checked in for a three-month refit at the time of the Cylon attack, and as such, almost all of its networked [[Computers|computer]] systems were offline. As a result, the Cylons were not able to immobilize the ship using computer infiltration. This, combined with the sheer luck of not being one of the first ships at the shipyards that the Cylons focused their attack on, the fact that the nuclear detonations temporarily blinded the Cylon [[DRADIS]] and Admiral Cain's order to just randomly jump anywhere safe immediately, allowed ''Pegasus'' to escape.

After the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies]], ''Pegasus'' occupied itself with hit-and-run attacks on various Cylon assets. It participated in a bold assault on a staging area filled with fifteen squadrons of [[Raider]]s. When Cain's long-time [[Executive officer]] expressed hesitancy to launch the ships' fighters against such odds, Cain publicly executed him on the bridge and promoted [[Jack Fisk]] to replace him. Fisk tells this story (and later recants it) while drunk to Colonel [[Saul Tigh|Tigh]], which Tigh believed to be true when he recounts it in turn to Commander Adama.

Some time later, ''Pegasus'' discovered that a Cylon fleet it was tracking appeared to be jumping, not randomly, but to systems with natural resources. The battlestar accidentally encountered [[The Fleet (RDM)|the Fleet]] led by battlestar ''[[Galactica]]'' when ''Pegasus'' jumped ahead to scout the Cylon target's projected next position (as it turned out, the Cylons were jumping to systems ''Galactica'' had passed through or explored). Cain assumes overall command of the Fleet and began transferring supplies and many personnel between the two battlestars, including Captain [[Lee Adama]] and Lieutenant [[Kara Thrace]]. Cain appeared unconcerned with the needs of the civilians and their ships, a problem noted to Commander Adama by President [[Laura Roslin]].

If Admiral Cain ever knew him during this time, she made no mention of it, and had no reservations sentencing him and [[Karl Agathon]] to death when they inadvertently kill Lieutenant [[Alistair Thorne]], Cain's chief "Cylon interrogator". [[William Adama]], commander of ''Galactica'', refused to permit the execution, precipitating an armed standoff between the two ships ([[Pegasus (episode)|Pegasus]]).

==Pegasus Fleet==

It was later revealed that ''Pegasus'' originally had its own small fleet of 15 civilian ships, found about a week after the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies]]. The tiny caravan was equipped with FTL drives and weapons. Rather than defending them (as ''Galactica'' had at [[Ragnar Anchorage]]), Admiral Cain saw them as potential spare parts for ''Pegasus'', and decided that ''Pegasus' '' military needs were a priority over them. The civilian ships were stripped for parts, including their weapons and FTL drives, marooning them and leaving them completely at the mercy of the Cylons when Cain left.

However not all of the civilians were left to die: after looking over the passenger lists, Cain selected those civilians who she thought would be of value (such as [[Peter Laird]], an aeronautical engineer), forcibly drafting them into her crew. However, 15 'selectees' aboard the civilian transport ''[[Scylla]]'' were traveling with their families and refused to leave without them. Admiral Cain ordered her marines to kill two families (men, women, and children) to shock the rest into submission. The exterior appearance of the craft probably has not changed greatly over time since the [[Cylon War]], as a large number of them were easily identified by Lieutenant [[Kara Thrace|Kara "Starbuck" Thrace]] while reconnoitering the upper limits of the atmosphere of [[Ragnar]] while battlestar ''[[Galactica]]'' re-armed herself at [[Ragnar Anchorage]] ([[Miniseries]]).

Similar vehicles were later seen by [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|Boomer]] and [[Margaret Edmondson|Racetrack]] as they attempted to approach and destroy a basestar in orbit over [[Kobol]] ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]]).

I'm confused about the last paragraph of the Contract Disputes... section. We say "several weeks" later from August, the tapes were handed over. (I assume that means at least 3 weeks.) The WGA/NBCU dispute became public on Aug. 12 and the NLRB greviance was filed on the 18th. It doesn't seem that three weeks have passed. Can that be clarified? Also, what changed or broke the stalemate? There has been nothing announced in Variety or elsewhere, at least in regard to The Office. '''Obviously''' there is more than a little frustration over not being able to connect outside the US. I'm not sure about the UK and other countries, but I do know that Canada's Space Channel has bought the show to broadcast on pretty much the same dates as in the US. This makes the fact that we Canadians(and anyone else who is going to see the show boadcast legally on television on October outside the US) would really benefit from being able to access the webisodes...we will watch the premier on Space, just like everyone else, except we are forced to result to illegal means to see the webisodes. I know this is a novelty, and perhaps the websiode content won't greatly affect the regularly aired shows, but really, I truly feel that this is a bad mistake on SciFi's behalf...and maybe even on Canada's Space Channel's Behalf for not seeking to host the webisodes on their Canadian site. It'll be something that they can claim as "EXTRA SPECIAL" on the DVD releases perhaps..but I think that once that is done, it becomes "bonus material" for the DVD and no longer the exciting and unique experience of participating with everyone else, waiting expectantly for the next five minute morsel to whet our appetites for the coming season...instead we have to lurk around in the dark and worry that maybe YOUTUBE is going to cut us off. We are fans and we all want the same great experience.

Maybe this isn't the place to debate...but I think I'll be writing both SciFi and SPACE to see how they can make a better, more rounded fan experience for an evidently GLOBAL audience.

I want to suggest to put ''non-breaking space'' <nowiki>('''&nbsp;''')</nowiki> between the words. It all depends of the screen and the font size, but when you see ''part I'', or just the ''I'', on the other line, it doesn't looks right. With ''non-breaking space'', the entire title will be on the same line. And will be prettier too. Since the template is usually lock, I wanted to suggest it beffore changing it.
