A featured article should have the following attributes:
*The article should be well-researched with [[Battlestar Wiki:Citation Jihad|proper citations of sources]].
*It needs to contain [[Canon|canonical]] information; [[non-canonical]] information should be avoided, unless it has a purpose such as to dispel a common misconception.
*If the article contains POV content, it must be deemed insightful by a majority of the community.
*The article must be properly copy-edited for grammar and style. See [[Battlestar Wiki:Standards and Conventions]].
*The article must be [http://validator.w3.org/ valid] [http://www.w3schools.com/xhtml/default.asp XHTML 1.0 Transitional].
*The article should contain no "broken" links.
*The article must have images pertinent to the article, whether in the form of screencaptures, graphs, charts, or diagrams, to name a few.
*The article needs to be contain at least 400 words of content. While a short article is not necessarily a stub (see below), featured articles should contain enough substance to cover at least 150 words.
*All cites should be in the format using the [[BW:CITE|Cite templates]].

If the article has been marked a {{tl|quality article}} it should be given more weight to others without it, but articles do not need the {{tl|quality article}} status to become an FA.

The following '''do not''' qualify as Featured Article candidates:
* [[Battlestar Wiki:Find or fix a stub|Stubs]]
* Talk pages
* Anything in the Battlestar Wiki, Quotes, Sources, Template, or User namespaces.
* Past, Current, or Future Featured articles that have been marked.
* If an image from the wanted article is currenlty the featured picture, the article is disquilified until the image is not the featured picture.

The featured article should be decided before the 7th day of the next month, which on the 7th day the featured article should be changed. All nominations should be posted and narrowed down to '''5 articles''', within the first 6 days of the next month.

== Identifying a Potential Featured Article ==

Featured Articles should be identified as such, so that a master list can be created. If you think an article should be a featured article on the front page, submit it first as {{tl|featured article candidate}}.

Essentially, this would be done in the following way:
# A contributor tags an article page with {{tl|featured article candidate}}, then adds a note to the current debvate session explaining their reasoning. A list could also be maintained here, either manually updated or as a link to a "feature candidate" category. Only '''5 articles''' for the next month shall be in the process of becoming a feature article.
# Involved members of the community will then discuss the candidate article. Typically, they should be as '''constructively''' critical as possible.
# If the consensus is that the article is potentially of "feature" quality, then the discussion will evolve into modifying the article in such a way as to polish the article so as to achieve full "Featured Article" status.
# Once this is done, the article will be tagged {{tl|featured article}} and placed on the '''Main page'''. Use the {{tls|FAT}} template to create the new featured article at [[Battlestar Wiki:Featured articles/Archive/ARTICLENAME - MONTH YEAR]]. Then edit the '''Main page''' sub-page at [[Main_Page/Featured_Article|here]].
[[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]] and [[Saul Tigh|Tigh]] create divisions between those who suffered under the Cylon occupation of [[New Caprica]] and those who stayed with the fleet. == Summary ==

=== On [[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]] ===
* ''Galactica'''s air group runs war game exercises among the viper pilots. Captain Thrace breaks formation during the exercise and collides with another pilot, forcing an end to the war games, and causing Apollo to remove her from flight duty.
* Upon Thrace's return to her bunk, she is met by Kacey and her mother, whom she dismisses, telling the Kacey's mother not to come again.
* In the pilots' mess, Lt. [[Sharon Agathon]] is given the callsign "[[Athena]]." Thrace and Tigh begin to sow dissent between the survivors of New Caprica and the crew that stayed behind on ''Galactica''

=== On a [[Basestar (RDM)|Basestar]] ===
*[[Gaius Baltar]], onboard the Cylon basestar, is having another hallucination. On a sunny beach, Gaius praises Six for returning to him in his time of need, and states that he enjoys having conversations with her. Six implores him to learn anything and everything about the Cylons, as he will need the information in the days ahead. Six also tells him that the Cylons use forms of projection to see the world around them, and when asked what she is, Six tells Baltar that she is an angel of God.
*Having been allowed to stay on the [[Basestar]], [[Caprica-Six]] and [[Three]] talk with Baltar later on, inquiring about the location of [[Earth]]. Gaius initially denies having any knowledge of where Earth is, but then reveals that he does have clues as to where it's probable location is. He then finds out that the [[Cylons]] intend to find Earth so they can use it as their new home.
*Baltar is apprehensive about helping the Cylons, and Caprica-Six tells him that the Cylons are also leery as to whether his intentions are true or not. Caprica-Six leads Baltar through the ship, telling him that she uses a projection of a forest to navigate the ship. In his mind, Baltar realizes that his form of projection is similar to what the Cylons are using, causing him to question whether he is human or a robot.
*Caprica-Six informs Gaius that his rescue of [[Hera]] and his assistance in finding Earth has made him a valuable asset, and has gone a long way in impressing the Cylons. Baltar asks why there are only 7 models on the ship, and inquires about the remaining 5 models. Caprica-Six informs him that they don't talk about it.
* Three informs Caprica-Six that there is a situation, and a [[Five]] states that the basestar that went to check the pulsar has not responded back. The group head to a control center, where Baltar finds out that the missing basestar has been infected by a disease, and that any Cylon that dies and uploads to a [[Resurrection Ship]] will spread the virus even further. On the urge of his internal Six, Baltar offers to board the infected basestar and collect scientific information.
* Before he leaves on his mission, Baltar encounters the Cylon hybrid that controls the functions of the basestar. The hybrid is hooked into the systems on the ship, and speaks in apparent non-sensical thoughts. Caprica-Six informs Gaius that it is thought by some of the Cylon models that the hybrid is speaking from God, and that the [[Leoben]] model takes the hybrid's words as scripture.
* The Cylons provide Baltar with a Raptor to board the baseship, and when he arrives, he finds numerous Cylons, either dead or dying. He collects blood samples and takes pictures of the area to bring back for analysis, and also finds a large manmade object in the hold of the ship. He then finds a dying [[Six]] model, who informs him that the device the Cylons captured, a probe left by the [[13th Colony]], infected all of them, and wants to die so she can be released from her pain. Even though Gaius offers to bring her help, she tries to attack him, and Gaius strangles her to death.
* Upon his return to the Basestar, Gaius denies finding anything that could have caused the outbreak the virus, but Caprica-Six notices the probe object in Baltar's picture, but doesn't let on to anyone else what she has discovered.

== Questions ==
*Would it be possible for the Colonials to salvage the derelict basestar for their own purposes?
* What has happened to the remaining five Cylon models? Are they so secretive that none of the other 7 variants have any knowledge of them? Did the Cylons permanently box the other models because they were dissenters to the cause of the Cylon race?
**Caprica-Six suggests that they are shrouded in secrecy. She cannot speak of them and says that none of the Seven talk about them. She does recognize their existence.
* What is Caprica-Six going to do now that she realizes Baltar may be withholding critically sensitive information?

== Analysis ==
*The crew-position shuffle continues from last episode, but some definite decisions have been made:
**Lee has been demoted back to Major, and has resumed the CAG slot, with Kat and Hot Dog as senior pilots under him. Kara is as well, until Lee revokes her flight status.
**As implied in "Collaborators", Helo has resumed the XO slot.
**Gaeta appears to have inherited Baltar's mantle as the scientific advisor (it is unclear whether he holds any additional positions), and is focusing his efforts on refining a course for Earth.
**Cally is shown working the flight deck alongside her husband, showing that she is once again active in the Fleet.
*Following her actions during the Battle of New Caprica, Sharon seems to have garnered some degree of acceptance among the ''Galactica'' air group.

== Notes ==

*According to an [http://www.nowplayingmag.com/content/view/4175/58/ interview] with executive producer [[David Eick]], episodes 5 and 6 are a two-part story in which ''Galactica'' discovers a dying Cylon Baseship, and deals with a plague that has befallen the Cylons. (Eick is counting "Occupation" and "Precipice" as one episode.)
Aboard ''Galactica'', Admiral [[William Adama]] executes a dramatic rescue plan.''
*On New Caprica, [[Samuel Anders]] confronts [[Saul Tigh]] about [[Ellen Tigh|his wife Ellen's]] betrayal and tells him that either Tigh "takes care" of Ellen, or someone less sympathetic will do so.
*Ellen Tigh explains her recent actions, that she would do absolutely anything to save Saul, including betraying the resistance. Tigh consoles her and provides her a drink when she asks. She falls unconscious, her drink having been poisoned by her husband. He says that he loves her, rests his head on her corpse, and weeps.
*On ''[[Colonial One]]'', [[Gaius Baltar]] tells the Cylons that they have failed in their experiment and suggests the Cylons simply leave. A [[Number Three|Three]] voices the concern that one day the descendants of mankind might exact vengeance upon the Cylons, should they be left to their own devices.
[[Image:Saulellen.jpg|Saul handing Ellen her poisoned drink.|thumb]]

*[[Felix Gaeta|Gaeta]] suddenly looks up, noticing dozens of explosions can outside the window, signalling the beginning of the [[Battle of New Caprica]].
*Anders and the resistance team has set a series of explosions, mimicing a Fleet attack and causing confusion among the [[cylons]]. [[Tory Foster]] commands a team of section leaders in the evacuation and orders [[Maya]] to head for her ship with [[Hera|Isis]].
*Anders and a large group of resistance fighters retrieve weapons from beneath the [[Pyramid (RDM)|Pyramid]] court to rescue the detainees in the [[New Caprica Detention Center|detention center]].
*In space above New Caprica, ''Galactica'' deploys a squadron of Raptors and Vipers. The Raptors launch [[swallow]]s to mimic the EM signature of two Colonial battlestars. The Cylons pick them up and fall for the ruse, moving two basestars with their Raiders away from the planet.
*When [[Leoben Conoy]] leaves the residence inside the Detention Center to aid with the fighting, he keeps [[Kara Thrace]] inside. She assaults him and tries to escape, but he knocks her unconscious.
*[[Tom Zarek]] tasks [[James Lyman|Jammer]] to protect [[Laura Roslin]] as she makes her way to ''Colonial One''.
*At the entrance to the shipyard, where the Cylons keep the grounded Colonial vessels, a team under Tigh and [[Galen Tyrol]] are pinned down by [[Cylon Centurion]]s.
*The Cylons detect the decoy drones, but ''Galactica'' jumps into the planet's upper atmosphere and plunges rapidly towards the planet. Mid-descent, ''Galactica'' launches its Vipers. Before colliding with the ground, the ship jumps back into space. The Vipers begin to attack targets on the ground and clear the way.
*As others are freed from the Detention Center, Anders finds his unconscious wife and carries her away, but when Thrace awakens, she goes back to retrieve [[Kacey]].
*The battle is turning against ''Galactica''. Her FTL drives are down, weapons are offline and there is heavy structural damage from the atmospheric entry. Four Cylon basestars are closing in and the battlestar is soon bombarded from all sides with no hope of survival. At that moment ''Pegasus'' joins the battle, Lee Adama having disobeyed his father's orders. He opens fire with the forward batteries and destroys one basestar in the opening salvo.
*The Cylons realize that they have lost and decide to evacuate the planet. [[Number Three]] volunteers to stay behind and set off the nuclear weapon that was left in the city for such a contingency. She offers Baltar a place with the Cylons and leaves.
*The Colonial ships initiate intra-atmosphere [[FTL|jumps]] from New Caprica as soon as they become airborne.
*''Pegasus'' is heavily bombarded by missiles, having left all of her Vipers back with the rest of the civilian Fleet. Admiral Adama realizes that his son has planned a one-way mission for ''Pegasus'', and orders recall of ''Galactica's'' fighters.
*On ''Colonial One'', [[Felix Gaeta]] holds Baltar at gunpoint, and accuses of having betrayed humanity. Gaeta admits his guilt in idealistically believing in Baltar, but has realized, in the end, that Baltar was only thinking about himself. Baltar admits his own guilt and begs Gaeta to shoot him. Gaeta relents, however, giving Baltar a final chance to redeem himself: stop Three from setting off the nuclear bomb.
*With ''Pegasus'' dying, Lee Adama orders everyone to abandon ship. He sets the ship [[CBDR]] with a basestar as the last of the crew leaves in Raptors. ''Pegasus’'' collides with a basestar, destroying it; the remains of ''Pegasus’'' starboard [[flight pod]] collides with and destroys yet another basestar.
*Kara Thrace retrieves Kacey, but Conoy has returned and confronts her. She appears to give in to his demands, says "I love you," and kisses him. However, Thrace uses the diversion to stab him. She picks up Kacey and leaves with Anders.
*Three searches [[Dodona Selloi]]'s tent, but the [[oracle]] has left. Outside, [[Caprica-Six]] and Baltar find Hera next to [[Maya]]'s body, still alive. Three arrives, asks to hold the child, and leaves with her. [[Caprica-Six]] says Three no longer intends to detonate the nuke, then leaves the planet with Baltar.
*Laura Roslin and a group of resistance fighters enter the now abandoned ''Colonial One'' and are the last ship to leave the planet.
*On ''Galactica'', many people are reunited as Tyrol immediately takes charge of ushering the incoming refugees. When Thrace shows Kacey to Tyrol, another woman walks by and recognizes the girl as her daughter, whom the Cylons had taken away. The mother thanks Thrace for rescuing Kacey. Thrace is shocked by the revelation that Kacey is not her daughter after all, but gives her up.
*Admiral Adama welcomes Tigh back aboard, and tells him he brought everyone back. Tigh quietly replies, "[[Ellen Tigh|Not all of them]]." The colonists in ''Galactica's'' [[hangar deck]] begin chanting "A-dam-a, A-dam-a..." and carry the admiral on their shoulders. Adama turns to see Tigh wandering off, numbed with grief.
*Tory Foster tells Roslin that neither Maya nor Hera can be found, and it seems likely neither made it off the planet. Foster apologizes, but Roslin muses that this was part of something bigger than them.
*Admiral Adama shaves off his mustache and returns to a fully staffed [[CIC]], aboard the now very loud, bustling corridors of ''Galactica''.

* The woman who claimed to be [[Kacey]]'s mother, was she really her mother or is [[Kacey]] really [[Starbucks]] kid? If Kacey is really Starbuck's kid, then does that mean Kacey's "mother" is a Cylon agent?

== Analysis ==

*There is a major plot hole concerning the continuity of the story from Exodus, Part I. In Part I, D'Anna sees Caprica-Sharon in the detention center and is shot by her. Yet in Part II, D'Anna is in Colonial One, apparently unharmed, and has not alerted the Cylons to Sharon's presence.
**That is a different D'Anna. You'll note the D'Anna in Colonial One before the attack is wearing all black, whereas the D'Anna that encountered Sharon typically wears lighter colors. The two D'Annas are seen together in The Occupation.
***This is NOT a different D'Anna. This is the same D'Anna that dreamt about Hera and relayed this information to Sharon Agathon, and later carried Hera in her arms as her dreams foretold. The plot hole stands.
****Some time had passed once the fleet received news that Sharon retrieved the command codes. D'Anna might have been released/resurrected within that time span. We are not told whether she had informed the Cylon leadership of Sharon's presence.
*****It is questionable whether Biers could have bled to death from being shot in the kneecaps/legs since Sharon had stated she didn't intend to kill her; if Biers was released, not only would she have been unable to walk, but she would almost certainly have been questioned by those that found her.
******D'Anna would likely have committed "suicide" to free herself of the knee injuries. She probably did tell the others about Sharon, but it was too late to do anything about her at that point.
*******One might also note that Cylons sometimes exhibit inhuman characteristics, such a Leoben breaking free from his chains ([[Flesh and Bone]]). It may be that they can heal or regenerate in some instances.
****It's been established that different Cylon models usually vote the same way when reaching a consensus. It's entirely possible that one Number Three discussed her dreams with her "sisters", one of which discovered Sharon in the “safety deposit box room”.

*Either the scenes aren't in order or Baltar is not aware of what is going on. In the Gaeta-Baltar scene, Baltar says, "The Cylons have a nuke in this complex. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is getting off this planet alive unless I stop D'Anna." But this is after most of the civilian ships have already jumped.

*Further, until Hera is discovered by Baltar, Three is still looking to set off the nuke -- even though it is clear that the colonists are all long gone.
**It's possible Three wasn't seeking to set off the nuke, but said she was as a ruse to go seek answers about her premonitions concerning Hera.
*** Any nuke held by the Cylons would likely be stored somewhere inside the guarded Cylon perimeter. It appears that this Three made a beeline to the Oracle, and was upset that she was not there. While going through the tent, knocking things over, she is quoted as saying "frackking liar!".
*It is hard to believe that the Cylons were not keeping closer tabs on the whereabouts of the launch keys -- no alarms, etc -- and didn't notice they were gone until the attack started.
*In general, the Cylons seem to have left the planet implausibly underguarded. Considering the strategic nature of the site, as well as the well-known fact that two battlestars remained at large, one would have expected the Cylons to have an overwhelming amount of protection for the planet -- perhaps dozens of basestars.
**It has been established beforehand that the Cylons are overstretched with the occupation. This could account for the lack of protection. At any rate, four basestars against two battlestars is hardly an even match, let alone two half-strength battlestars.
***A Basestar does not seem to be a 1 to 1 match for a Battlestar. They lack offensive and defensive gun batteries, the ability to maneuver quickly, and have a critical design flaw that is easily exploited (central hub holding the six arms together). Basestars depend on missiles and large numbers of Raiders. Adama felt that the Galactica, even barely manned, could hold up to two Cylon Basestars.
****Additionally, RDM has mentioned in his podcasts that the Cylons do have major operations elsewhere hinting at future storylines in the season. It is possible that the Cylon higher command made a strategic decision to guard the planet with what they deemed the minimal required number of basestars to defend against 2 battlestars.
*****One may also be prone to over estimating the number of Basestars the Cylons have. When preparing the attack on the twelve colonies, the Cylons knew that they had surprise and the backdoor computer virus on their side. As such they may not have produced a very large number of basestars (perhaps not even enough to match the number of battlestars the Colonies had). Furthermore, the knowledge that the colonials were ignorant of the location of the Cylon homeworld may have also played a part in them having a smaller fleet. If, for some reason, the attack failed, the cylons could simply retreat and bide their time before trying again. After all, when one is sure he can render his enemy defenseless, there's no real need to produce a pointlessly large army.
*With the former crew of ''Pegasus'' onboard ''Galactica'' now, the ship has something close to its standard crew size. (''Galactica's'' crew was deduced to be 2,693 in the episode "[[Water]]", and ''Pegasus's'' was introduced with a crew count of 1,752 in "[[Pegasus (episode)|Pegasus]]" (see [[Crew tally]]). William Adama notes that over half of the crew has settled on [[New Caprica]] in "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I]]", and Lee confirms that both ships are at half-strength in "[[Occupation]]".) Military operations should be much smoother now, and repairs to the ship in general are more feasible.
**However, many repairs, such as structural, will require shipyard or dockyard facilities equiped with replacement parts and heavy repair machinery required for such repairs, and these facilities are no longer available. The ''Galactica'' may never again be the fighting force that it once was.
*While the combination of the ''Pegasus'' and ''Galactica'' air groups give the latter battlestar a full-strength fighter wing, the Fleet has suffered the loss of its most advanced and best-armed warship. With it also went the capability to build replacement Vipers, unless one of the civilian ships can be converted for such a purpose. Defensively, the Fleet is pretty much back to the position it was in when it left the Colonies.
**However, the Galactica did take significant structural damage during the conflict, therefore, it currently isn't in the same state of battle readiness as it was at the time it left the Colonies.
*It appears during the whole conflict in atmospheric combat that the Raiders were spending most of their time running from the Vipers. This may be due to the fact that Colonial Vipers have a far superior atmospheric design where Raiders are optimized for space operations. The Viper has a stabilizing vertical wing which aids the pilot in manuevering through the atmosphere just like all real-life combat aircraft. The Raider lacks this stabilizer wing much reducing their effectiveness in aeronautic combat and manuevering thrusters are not as effective in air as in space due to resistance. This made the tactic of depositing the ''Galactica's'' Vipers into a solely air-support role for evacuating ships very effective once the Space-borne Raiders were decoyed away from the planet so that the ''Galactica'' only had to face the Basestars, not the Raiders.
**The lack of a stabilising fin might not impede the Raider's atmospheric performance, as there are certainly ways of compensating for it (see, e.g., the B-2 'Spirit'). And with several months of occupation (during which we see Raiders making fly-bys), the Raiders should have had more than enough time to become familiar with the quirks of atmospheric manoeuvring.
***However, the B-2 'Spirit' is a bomber and not a combat fighter and there is no example of a successful combat fighter without a stabilizing wing (or wings) on the tail. Compensating for atmospheric forces would make flight exceptionally difficult for craft designed primarily for spaceflight.
*''Pegasus'' seemed to fulfill its role just like the [[Pegasus (TOS)|original ''Pegasus'']], as it fought to the end to defeat two basetars and allowed ''Galactica'' along with the last of the fleet to escape from the Cylons.

== Notes ==
* "[[Exodus, Part II]]" was awarded the [[Awards and Honors|IGN.com Editor's choice award]], following a review in which it recieved a rating of 9/10. This marks the second of such awards presented for the third season, the first of which was awarded for the season premiere [[Occupation]].
* There is also a TOS comic named ''[[Exodus!]]''
* The two parts of "Exodus" were originally planned as one episode. However, it was quickly realized that the story was far too large for one episode and it was split in two. This happened before with "[[Scattered]]", "[[Valley of Darkness]]" and "[[Resurrection Ship, Part I|Resurrection Ship]]." It also helped save money because the construction of New Caprica, the extensive location shooting, the number of actors, as well as the special effects for "Exodus, Part II" were very expensive and the production was over budget.
* Apparently the viper Mk.VIIs deployed by Galactica in this episode have a yellow engine-glow instead of their usual blue. This may be a visual-effects gaffe or the engines might have been affected by the nebular gas or by using a different type of fuel or engine.
* The moment where Lee pauses to look back at the ''Pegasus'' CIC and says "thank you" references a parallel moment in the [http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Ds9 Deep Space Nine] episode [http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/The_Changing_Face_of_Evil "The Changing Face of Evil"], in which, after the doomed Defiant is ordered evacuated, Captain Sisko takes a long look back at his ruined bridge. As with the ''Pegasus'', in the next shot, the ship is destroyed. Bradley Thompson and David Weddle, who wrote "Exodus, Part II", were staff writers on DS9.
*This episode marks the destruction of the ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]''
*Kate Vernon on the SciFi Forums<ref>http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2250922&st=64</ref> stated that Ellen Tigh knew about the poison in her drink.
== Noteworthy Dialogue ==

*''Discussing the failure of the occupation:''
:'''Number Three''': What would you have us do, Gaius?
:'''Gaius Baltar''': Leave. Pack up your centurions, and go. Please. Go.
:'''Number Three''': And then what? What would you do if we really just left you here? You'd live out your lives in peace and never trouble yourselves with thoughts of us again? Or would you raise your children with stories of the Cylon, the mechanical slaves who once did your bidding, only to turn against you? Killers who committed genocide against your race, the occupiers of this city until we just ran away? Would you tell them to tell the story to their children, and to their childrens' children, and nurse a dream of vengeance down through the years so that one day they could just go out into the stars and hunt the Cylon once more?
:'''Gaius Baltar''': Blood for blood ...has to stop one day.

*''Roslin heads to Colonial One:''
:'''Roslin''': My ship's up there.
:'''Zarek''': You sure have a sense of the dramatic.

*''Adama comes to accept ''Galactica'''s end:''
:'''Admiral Adama:''' Then that's it. It's been an honor.

*''After Hearing Pegasus Has Joined Galactica
:'''Admiral William Adama''': Damn You, Lee ...Thank You, Lee.

*''The Pegasus is evacuated before its destruction:''
:'''Dualla:''' Alright, people, let's move. Out! Let's go. (To Lee): You too, Commander.
:'''Commander Lee Adama:''' Yes, sir. (Begins to leave, then stops and looks around at Pegasus): Thank you.

*''As the two Adamas reunite after the battle:''
:'''Admiral William Adama''': I guess you didn't understand my orders.
:'''Commander Lee Adama''': I never could read your handwriting.

*''Adama welcomes Col. Tigh back to ''Galactica:''
:'''Adama:''' You did it, Saul. You brought them back.
:'''Tigh:''' Not all of them.

[[Image:Detention Center.jpg|thumb|right|200px|New Caprica Detention Center during the [[Battle of New Caprica]]]]
The '''New Caprica Detention Center''' is a [[Cylon]] facility on [[New Caprica]] ([[Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance|The Resistance]]).

Physically, it is an imposing concrete sructure with a motorized gate of steel bars. It contains facilities for questioning prisoners which are quite reminiscent of police [[Wikipedia:Interrogation|interrogation]] rooms in the real world; they feature bare concrete walls, a small table, two metal chairs, a metal door with a small window, and harsh overhead lighting from a single source.

[[Number Five]] solicits [[Jammer]] to inform on the [[New Caprica Resistance]] inside the facility ([[Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance]]).

[[Saul Tigh]] is incarcerated in the center until his [[Ellen Tigh|wife]] fornicates with a copy of [[Cavil]] as part of an exchange to free her husband ([[Occupation]]).

[[Laura Roslin]] is held briefly in the center while being interviewed about the Resistance [[Tucker Clellan|suicide bombing]] by [[Gaius Baltar]]. ([[Precipice]])

[[Kara Thrace]] is held captive in furnished cell where she is forced to live with [[Leoben Conoy|Leoben]] for the duration of the Cylon Occupation. ([[Occupation]])

The center had its main gates blown open by a Viper during the [[Battle of New Caprica]] and was subsequently stormed by the New Caprica Resistance under the command of [[Galen Tyrol]] and [[Samuel Anders]], freeing all its inmates. ([[Exodus, Part II]])
[[Galactica type battlestar|Battlestar]] ''[[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]]'' launches a daring mission to occupy the [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylon force's]] attention as the majority of the Colonial citizens escape from Cylon occupation on [[New Caprica]].

Greatly outnumbered, Admiral [[William Adama]] enacts an elaborate plan that relies on a squadron of [[Raptor]]s (with a [[Viper (RDM)|Viper]] escort squadron) to fire a series of [[swallow]]s that collectively mimic the EM signatures of the Colonial battlestars. After firing the swallows, the Raptors retreat, luring several [[Cylon Raider (RDM)|Cylon Raiders]] further from the fight. The Cylons are deceived temporarily by the false readings.

On [[New Caprica]], [[Samuel Anders]] and the resistance team detonate dozens of bombs as a feigned attack by Colonial forces. The people evacuate per their fire-drill training, but escape to the various grounded ships of the [[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet]], which prepare their engines and [[FTL]] drives to depart. Many people, however, become pinned down by [[Cylon Centurion|Centurion]] fire.

Admiral Adama performs an extremely risky move. He orders ''Galactica'' to conduct an intra-atmosphere jump, escaping the detection of the basestars. While in freefall, it launchs the remnants of [[Blue Squadron (RDM)|Blue Squadron]], which performs hit-and-run attacks on the Cylons on the ground, those in [[Guard towers|observation towers]], and interdicting the few Raiders operating near the surface, as well as destroying the main gates of the Cylon detention center. Before the battlestar impacts the surface, ''Galactica'' performs a second jump, back into space. Stress from the vibration and heat of entry have heavily taxed the structure of the battlestar. While two [[Basestar (RDM)|basestars]] were expected to engage the ''Galatica'' during wargames, four basestars move in to dispose of ''Galactica.''

With the Vipers destroying targets on the ground and in the air in vicinity of New Caprica City, those previously pinned down are able to board their ships. Simultaneously, Colonial Marines and resistance members assault the detention center, freeing Starbuck and the other detainees.

Before long, ''Galatica's'' FTL drives and maneuvering thrusters are disabled, and the port side of the ship reaches its structural limits. Upon hearing that the FTL drive was disabled, Admiral Adama tells his crew, "Then that's it. It's been an honor." Battlestar ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'' then arrives with its forward batteries blazing, scoring several hits that severely damage or destroy one basestar. Commander [[Lee Adama]] orders his battlestar towards the basestars to give ''Galactica'' time to repair its FTL drive and escape. Meanwhile, most of the civilian ships become airborne and jump away.

Commander Adama directs his ship to a position between the basestars targetting ''Galactica'', in an effort to draw fire away from her. Admiral Adama infers from the absence of Vipers from the ''Pegasus'' that its Vipers are guarding the remaining ships of the Fleet at the rendezvous point and that ''Pegasus'' is on a one-way trip. While ''Pegasus'' "was taking a hell of a pounding," the crew of ''Galactica'' is able to bring its FTL back on line. Admiral Adama thus orders his crew to land its birds and prepare to jump.

With ''Pegasus'' taking phenomenal damage, Commander Adama orders all hands to abandon ship, using standby Raptors to jump away from the battle. He ensures that the weapons were set to autofire and that the ship is on a collision course with one of the basestars before departing. The damaged, unmanned ''Pegasus'' collides into one basestar, destroying both. The remnants of ''Pegasus's'' starboard flight pod collides with another of the remaining basestars, destroying it.

''[[Colonial One]]'' is the last Colonial ship to leave the planet, with [[Laura Roslin]] back in her old chair in place of the deposed president, [[Gaius Baltar]] ([[Exodus, Part II]]). On the surface, the Cylons' planned nuclear detonation, which this late would be of questionable tactical value, does not occur.

== Overview ==
:''After the suicide bombing, the [[Cylons (RDM) |Cylons]] institute stricter controls on the human population on [[New Caprica]]. Aboard ''[[Galactica]]'', plans for the rescue from New Caprica move forward now that communication with the [[New Caprica Resistance|resistance]] has been established.''

== Summary ==
*[[Gaius Baltar]] ostensibly has [[Laura Roslin]] detained in a cell. He discusses the suicide bombings, after which he releases her.
*After [[Duck]]'s suicide bombing in an effort to kill Baltar, the Cylons round up random civilians, including [[Cally Tyrol]].
*The [[Leoben Conoy|Leoben copy]] that has imprisoned [[Kara Thrace]] introduces her to [[Kacey]], supposedly [[Hera|another]] Cylon-human hybrid fertilized by this Cylon's consciousness and using Thrace's [[The Farm|egg from her stolen ovary]]. Thrace immediately treats it as an "it."
*[[Felix Gaeta]] continues to give information to the resistance, although [[Galen Tyrol]] is unaware that Gaeta is his source. Tyrol believes Gaeta is a collaborator.
*Tyrol talks to Jammer about the situation with [[Cally Tyrol|his wife]], believing that people such as himself and Jammer will be lauded, while people like Gaeta will be strung up, causing feelings of regret in Jammer for his secret Cylon collaboration as an [[NCP]] member.
*Jammer asks [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|Boomer]] to release Cally Tyrol from prison. Boomer claims bureaucracy prevents her, but later visits Tyrol. [[Resistance (episode)|Their history]] only makes matters worse.
*Admiral [[William Adama|Adama]] swears in [[Sharon Agathon]] as a Colonial officer and sends her to New Caprica as the resistance liaison. Commander [[Lee Adama]] objects to most of the plan, and is generally ignored by the planning team.
*Later, Commander Adama tries to convince his father that risking what's left of mankind to save those on New Caprica wasn't a call the admiral could make. Admiral Adama tells his son that he can stay with the Fleet with ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'' on guard, but that he and ''Galactica'' must try to rescue the New Capricans.
*[[Saul Tigh]], Chief Tyrol, and [[Samuel Anders]] decide to meet Agathon at [[Breeder's Canyon]].
*[[Ellen Tigh]], threatened with more harm to her husband, tips off the Cylons to the rendezvous.
*Another damaging suicide bombing moves the Cylons to more drastic actions.
*The Cylons force Baltar to sign an execution order, at gunpoint, for 200 civilians, including [[Cally Tyrol]], Roslin and [[Tom Zarek]].[[Caprica-Six]] is shot by a [[Five]] while protesting against the order. The detainees are transported outside the city.
*Kara Thrace continues to ignore Kacey in the apartment. When Thrace leaves to another room, she returns to find the child motionless in a pool of blood.
*As Kacey awakens in a hospital, Thrace is overjoyed, and takes Conoy's hand.
*After the truck of detainees stops and releases the prisoners to "stretch their legs," a masked [[Jammer]] cuts Cally Tyrol's bonds and tells her to run. As as she gets away, [[Cylon Centurion]]s appear to execute the detainees.
*Zarek pulls Roslin away from the front of the crowd.
*As Cally Tyrol runs through the forest, the sound of automatic gunfire rings out.
*After Sharon Agathon and Anders' teams meet and formulate their plans, they are soon ambushed by Centurions.

== Questions ==

*If [[Sharon Agathon]] is killed during her mission on [[New Caprica]], will she be able to download into a new body?
**While download is likely, Agathon would be immediately kept as an intelligence source.
*Where will [[Cally Tyrol]] be able to run to? She was ordered to face execution by the Colonial Government.
**Returning to the colony is probable, keeping out of sight, probably in the underground bunker where the [[wireless]] comm center is located.
*Why did the Cylons abandon their plan for a public execution?
**A public execution might have made matters worse, while [[Wikipedia:Forced disappearance|"disappearances"]] would allow for both an effective threat and plausible deniability.
*If viewers are to assume that the gunfire at the end of the episode is not from the Centurions, then who is firing?
** While one could speculate that the NCP opened fire on the Centurions, the next episode "[[Exodus, Part I]]" reveals that Tyrol learned of the planned execution of his wife as well as the location, and was able to organize an ambush.
*Is Gaeta showing rather unusual behavior? If so, how much will his role as "inside man" be affected?
**Gaeta is witnessing the oppression of humanity at the highest level from a man he once admired. It is probable that Gaeta's stress level is [[Flight of the Phoenix|again affecting his behavior]].
*What is the role of the five unseen Cylon models in the occupation? Are they present and simply remaining off-camera for the benefit of the audience? Have they attempted to hide themselves from the Colonials?
**{{spoiltext|According to interviews with Grace Park, Dean Stockwell, and Tricia Helfer, the remaining Cylons are so secret that even the seven models known to the audience don't know who the last five are. See the Talk article for more information.}}
**{{spoiltext|According to an [http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30381 interview] with Aaron Douglas and Tamoh Penikett, the remaining five models may have all been [[Boxing|boxed]].}}
**It's also concievable that the Cylon is divided on the threat Humanity represents and the other 5 models believe they should be wiped out, or have there own seperate agendas like Leoben
*Why do no Leoben Conoy copies attend the meeting on ''Colonial One'' regarding the execution order?
**Conoy's motives on New Caprica appear to be entirely selfish&mdash;he is there for Kara Thrace only. No other copies have been witnessed on New Caprica to date.
*[[Cally Tyrol]] and [[Sharon Agathon]] both took their husbands' names upon marriage, as did [[Ellen Tigh]], [[Caroline Adama]] and [[Sesha Abinell]]. Are [[Anastasia Dualla]] and [[Kara Thrace]] now Anastasia Adama, and Kara Anders, respectively?
*What is the relationship between Caprica-Six's shooting and the reappearance of [[Cylon-Related_Hallucinations#Baltar.27s_Internal_Six|Baltar's Internal Six]]?
**It is possible that two events are not directly related. The reappearance was not immediate, but happened after [[Number Five]] and [[Cavil]] continued to threaten Baltar with death. Since Caprica-Six's support was gone, Baltar was under severe stress and thought that he might likely die. Internal-Six has shown a tendency to appear at those times, especially if Baltar's survival is at stake.
*On the topic of internal manifestations, what happened to Caprica-Six's Interal-Baltar? Will he ever show himself again? Has he dissapeared much like his counterpart in Baltar, now that the real-world Baltar is in Caprics-Six's midst?
*Now that the Lt. Sharon Agathon has landed on the surface of New Caprica, how can she be distinguished from other [[Number Eight]]s there?
**Other than her [[flight suit]], it remains unclear how [[Sharon Agathon]] will be distinguished from other [[Number Eight]]s. Admiral Adama confirmed that Cylon Centurions are not sentient, and may take instruction from Agathon because of her true nature.
*How will ''humans'' identify Sharon Agathon should she ever leave their sight? How, for example, can she safely return to ''[[Galactica]]''?
*How did Jammer identify the particular Eight he talked to as "Boomer?"
**Initially, Jammer just calls [[Boomer-Eight]] the honorific "Sir." Its concievable that Boomer has certain characteristics from her time on Galactica that other Eights don't have, that give her away as Boomer-Eight.
*If the Centurions are incapable of distinguishing between individual copies of a model, why would they fire on Sharon Agathon, who should be just another Eight to them?
**Agathon's back was turned to the Centurions at the time before the shooting began. They may not have registered her presence in the group. Also, her Colonial-issue flight suit may have given her away. No "legitimate" Eight on New Caprica would need to wear one. Its also possible that the Centurions were given orders to shoot the Eight found with the human resistance at the given location. Keep in mind that, unlike the TOS Centurions, RDM Centurions do not talk. They simply take orders.
* Why didn't Duck tell Tyrol that Jammer had joined the New Caprica Police?
**He may not have known until the graduation ceremony, since the members of the police force are secretive about their identities. Duck was also under great stress and may not have been thinking clearly.
*Did Kacey fall down the stairs or was she pushed?
*As Zarek wanted nothing to do with Baltar's puppet administration, who replaced him as Vice President?
**Given the potential for further dissidence and/or rebellion, did Baltar do away with the office of the Vice Presidency altogether?
*Given Zarek's imprisonment for four months, what of Zarek's various supporters? Do they still exist on New Caprica or on the ''[[Astral Queen]]''? If so, what of them?
*Is [[Kacey]] all that [[Leoben Conoy]] claims her to be?
**There is reason to believe that Conoy's claims are not true. As evidenced in the Miniseries and "[[Flesh and Bone]]," Conoy is a master manipulator specializing in lies, half-truths, misdirection, ommission and any other method he can think of to coerce people to do as he wants. Kacey could be an ordinary human. The farms were filled with male and female humans, so standard ''in vitro'' insemination is not improbable.
**The Cylon farms have had no success in procreation. Even if hybridization succeeded, it is unlikely that such a human/Cylon hybrid would be placed in such an unstable environment as they are highly valuable to the Cylons due to the astonishingly low success rate.

== Analysis ==
*Apparently a single Cylon agent copy can speak for his or her particular model<ref> The phrase "''We'' agree" is said by several models.</ref>. Interestingly, [[Caprica-Six]] fails to dissuade her "sisters" from voting to execute the dissidents.
**This consensus within the copies is done invisibly. Similar communication between Cylons of a single model has been witnessed in several prior episodes:
***In "[[The Farm]]", the copy of Simon which Kara Thrace encounters outside the facility shares the memories of the one she has recently killed, although insufficient time has passed for a resurrection of the type witnessed in "[[Downloaded]]".
***In "[[Home, Part II]]", [[Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy)]] reveals to Galen Tyrol that she has some of the Boomer copy's memories.
***At the start of "[[Occupation]]", the [[Cavil]] model interrogating with Saul Tigh knows of Ellen's work to free him.
**This contact is apparently strictly voluntary. According to Caprica-Sharon in "[[Home, Part I]]", "I'm not wired in. It doesn't work like that," and her presence on New Caprica is not considered a security hazard.
*As one of the Cavils notes, adherence to the Cylon creed has become increasingly perfunctory. The Cylons seek the President's signature as a mere formality.
*If [[Leoben Conoy]]'s story is true, [[Kacey]] can't be older than 16 months<ref>As of this episode, it has been about 27 months since the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|fall of the Colonies]]. Kara Thrace's incarceration at the [[Farms|Farm]] on Caprica took place about two months after the fall of the Colonies.</ref>.
*As Ellen Tigh's actions seem as reprehensible as ever, her motivations this time around are rather more laudable. These two episodes seem to indicate that she truly does care for her husband.
*Cavil informs Ellen Tigh that they released Saul Tigh so that he may continue leading the resistance, thereby ensuring attacks against the Cylons, such as the two bombings that followed his release. These bombings and their results reinforce Cavil's argument that instilling fear and exerting total control over the population is the only viable solution.
**It also might be possible that the release of Tigh might play into the faction of Cylons who continue to hold a strong prejudice towards humans. Caprica-Six and Boomer are clearly shown to be a diminishing voice amongst the Cylon leadership as evidenced when [[Number Five]] shot Caprica-Six in the head. This faction of Cylons may very well be attempting to destroy the experiment that Caprica-Six and Boommer convinced the Cylon population to undergo.
*The Cylons' condemnation to suicide bombings is strikingly hypocritical, in light of the fact that a [[Number Five]] used the same tactic after boarding ''Galactica'' in "[[Litmus]]."
*Following the bombing of the power station, the Cylon leadership conducts a meeting with Gaius Baltar on ''Colonial One''. The camera makes a full clockwise sweep, revealing in order:
**An Eight
**Boomer
**A Cavil
**A Five
**A Three
**Caprica-Six
**Another Cavil
**Another Three (identifies herself as the one killed by [[Caprica-Six]] in "[[Downloaded]]")
**A [[Simon]]
**Another Five
**Two more Sixes
*Cavil introduces the idea of "stronger measures". Assenting, in order, are the second Three, Simon, the second Five, and the last two Sixes. Caprica-Six dissents. Neither Boomer nor the other Eight are consulted. Not present are any copies of Leoben Conoy nor any of the unrevealed five models.
*Baltar's strenuous insistence that "Nobody has been tortured" evokes United States President [[Wikipedia:George W. Bush|George W. Bush]]'s November 2005 statement that "We do not torture".

== Notes ==
*"[[Occupation]]/Precipice" was awarded the [[Awards and Honors|IGN.com Editor's choice award]], following a review in which it recieved a rating of 10/10.
*"Occupation" and "Precipice" were edited as one 2-hr episode with only one introduction. However, in the podcast, [[Ronald D. Moore]] indicates the "beginning" of "Precipice" as the scene with Baltar and Roslin in the detention cell.
*In the podcast, [[Ronald D. Moore]] states that references to "The Twist" and "The Swirl" are a homage to ''[[Wikipedia:Seinfeld |Seinfeld]]''. The episode in question is "[[Wikipedia:The Fusilli Jerry |The Fusilli Jerry]]."
*Felix Gaeta's given name, first revealed in "[[Final Cut]]," is spoken out loud for the first time.
*Caprica-Valerii has married Karl Agathon and taken his last name. She continues to be confined to her cell, but it has been decorated and furnished. Ironically enough, she still calls him "Helo."
*Sharon Agathon and William Adama have continued to develop the rapport which they established in "[[Resurrection Ship, Part II]]."
*[[Number Three]]'s claim that Caprica-Six's assault on her was the first case of Cylon-on-Cylon violence in their history is false. The model known as Boomer destroyed an [[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II|entire basestar filled with other Fives]], and there are several other incidents throughout the series.
*Ironically, a Five shoots Caprica-Six in the head shortly after Three's statement. Cavil indicates, however, that she won't be "boxed," as Caprica feared in "[[Downloaded]]."
*The same [[Number Three]] consciousness that is killed in "[[Downloaded]]" by Caprica-Six is present as well, referencing the incident; it is this same Three who questions Six regarding her love of Baltar.
*The apparent shooting of the captives and Cally Tyrol's escape at the end of the episode are an homage to ''[[Wikipedia:The Great Escape|The Great Escape]]''.
*Baltar's Internal-Six appears only after Caprica-Six is shot in the head.
*This episode has the second highest number of guest stars. Only the [[Miniseries]] had more credited stars.
*[[Lee Adama]] stated that there were about 2000 civilians that were on board Fleet ships when they escaped New Caprica, which would mean that after accounting for an unspecified number of military personnel (and an unspecified number of said personnel that were left on New Caprica), at least 5500 people were killed in the destruction of [[Cloud 9]] as well as the other ships destroyed by the nuclear warhead in "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]."
*Another four humans are killed in the suicide bombing at the power substation this episode. It is unknown whether or not this figure includes the bomber. Additionally, 23 Cylons are critically wounded; 14 of them are euthanized. Almost half the city is left without power, with repair estimates standing at a minimum of two weeks.
*We finally learn the role of [[Tom Zarek]] in the Baltar administration: he was indeed Baltar's running mate, and was elected Vice President in "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]". (This was implied in the last three episodes of season two, but not stated explicitly). He refused to be party to the Cylon occupation and was detained shortly thereafter, until his execution was ordered in this episode.

== Noteworthy Dialogue ==
*''Discussing suicide bombings:''
:'''Galen Tyrol''': This is crazy. You know, we need to figure out whose side we're on.
:'''Saul Tigh''': Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

*''After being arrested, held without charge and carted to a remote location:''
:'''Tom Zarek''': Laura.. That election last year. You tried to steal it, didn't you?
:'''Laura Roslin''': Yes, Tom. I did.
:'''Tom Zarek''': (laughs) Ah... I wish you'd gone through with it.
:'''Laura Roslin''': Me too.

*''Talking in a cell:''
:'''Cally''': ...frak you Sharon, you stupid frakked-up toaster. How many times do I have to shoot you anyway?

*''After being slapped by Roslin for accussing her of working for the Cylons:''
:'''Saul Tigh''': You see, little things like that they don't matter anymore. Fact, not too frakking much really matters anymore. I got one job here lady, and one job only. To disrupt the Cylons, make them worry about the ant hill they stirred up down here so they're distracted and out of position when the old man shows up in orbit. The bombings, they got the Cylons' attention, they really got their attention. And I am not giving that up.
:'''Laura Roslin''': We are talking about people blowing themselves up.
:'''Tigh''': You know, sometimes I think that you've got ice water in those veins. And other times, I just think that you're just a naive little school teacher. I've sent men on suicide missions in two wars now, and let me tell you something. It don't make a godsdamn bit of difference whether they're riding in a Viper or walking out onto a parade ground. In the end they're just as dead. (pauses) So, take your piety, and your moralizing, and your high-minded principles, and stick 'em somewhere safe until you're off the rock and sitting in your nice, cushy chair on Colonial One again. (stands) I've got a war to fight (leaves).

*''As the Cylons try to force Baltar to sign the execution order, following Number Five's shooting of Capirca-Six in the head:''
:'''Baltar''': Oh, God.
:'''Cavil''': She'll be back...
:'''Cavil''': ... but if he pulls that trigger now, you won't.
== Overview ==

== Summary ==

== Questions ==

**{{spoiltext|According to interviews with Grace Park, Dean Stockwell, and Tricia Helfer, the remaining Cylons are so secret that even the seven models known to the audience don't know who the last five are. See the Talk article for more information.}}
**{{spoiltext|According to an [http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30381 interview] with Aaron Douglas and Tamoh Penikett, the remaining five models may have all been [[Boxing|boxed]].}}

== Analysis ==

== Notes ==

== Noteworthy Dialogue ==

== Overview ==

== Summary ==
*The Cylons force Baltar to sign an execution order for 200 civilians, including [[Cally Tyrol]], Roslin and [[Tom Zarek]].

== Questions ==

**{{spoiltext|According to interviews with Grace Park, Dean Stockwell, and Tricia Helfer, the remaining Cylons are so secret that even the seven models known to the audience don't know who the last five are. See the Talk article for more information.}}
**{{spoiltext|According to an [http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30381 interview] with Aaron Douglas and Tamoh Penikett, the remaining five models may have all been [[Boxing|boxed]].}}

== Analysis ==

== Notes ==

== Noteworthy Dialogue ==

'''"Lest We Forget"''' is the name of the picture featured on the rearmost wall of [[Galactica (RDM)|''Galactica'']]'s [[Pilot ready rooms|ready room]], and on the wall of [[Laura Roslin]]'s office on ''[[Colonial One]]''. Before going out on their missions, some of the crew touch the photo, presumably for good luck or as a form of spiritual remembrance ([[33]]).

[[Ronald D. Moore]] explains:

: "There was a [[List of Deleted Scenes (RDM)|scene cut]] from [[33]] where we saw Laura being given her copy of the photo along with a card that said it was taken on the roof of the capitol building on Aerilon during the attack. The photo was inspired by the famous shot of the fire-fighters raising the flag at [[Wikipedia:Ground zero#World Trade Center|Ground Zero]] that became iconic. I thought the Colonies would have their own version of this -- a snapshot taken in the moment that becomes a symbol of the day they can never forget and of all they had lost. The photo itself is of a soldier falling to his knees (possibly shot or simply overcome by emotion) as he stands on the rooftop over looking the devastation of his city, while the Colonial flag waves at the edge of frame. The inscription below the photo on Laura's plaque reads, "Lest We Forget" in itself a reference to the inscription on the watch presented to [[Wikipedia:John Wayne|John Wayne's]] character in "[[imdb:tt0041866|She Wore a Yellow Ribbon]]".
[[Galactica type battlestar|The veteran battlestar]] '''''Galactica'' (BS 75)''' is the most famous warship in the [[Colonial Fleet]]. Built in time to participate in the [[Cylon War]], she remained the only military vessel without integrated [[Computers|computer networks]]. Without networked computers, ''Galactica'' never upgraded to the new [[Command Navigation Program|integrated defence system software]] developed by Dr. [[Gaius Baltar]] and his [[Number Six|team]]. Because of this and other fortunes, she became one of only [[Pegasus (RDM)|two]] battlestars to survive the renewed [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|Cylon attack]] on the [[Twelve Colonies (RDM)|Twelve Colonies]], some 40 years after the end of the first war. At the time of the attack, she was part of the [[75th Battlestar Group]] (BSG-75).

== History ==

''Galactica'' was one of the twelve first battlestars to be laid down by the Colonials. Initially they built a battlestar to represent each colony, where ''Galactica'' represented [[Caprica]]. As such, she is some 50 years old. Following the outbreak of Cylon hostilities several more battlestars were built. ''Galactica's'' first commander was named [[Nash]] ([[Miniseries]]).
[[Image:Mini gal top.jpg|left|thumb|A dorsal view of ''Galactica''. The starboard [[flight pod]] is covered by a window to form the [[Galactica Museum|museum area]].]]
The original battlestars were all designed with non-integrated computer systems to avoid the Cylons' demonstrated ability to override or subvert networked command and control systems early in the war ([[Miniseries]]). Rather than technological sophistication, the battlestar depended on its sheer bulk and defensive / offensive capabilities to ward off any threats to itself or the Colonies.

Following the [[Armistice Station|armistice]] with the Cylons, and their withdrawal from Colonial space, ''Galactica'' and her sister ships served the Twelve Colonies in a variety of roles. While her surviving sister ships were scrapped or upgraded to match the systems capabilities of newer Colonial vessels, ''Galactica'' continued in service without her systems being fully networked or integrated, making her unique among Colonial military vessels ([[Miniseries]]).

With her active career drawing to a close, a decision was taken to retire ''Galactica'' and decommission her from service. [[Colonial Fleet]] chose not to scrap her, but to turn her into a combination of living museum to the original Cylon War and an educational center, with her conversion being overseen by her final commander, [[William Adama]] ([[Miniseries]]).

At the time of her formal decommissioning ceremony, ''Galactica'' is stripped of all but one of her operational [[Viper (RDM)|Viper]] Mark VII squadrons, her munitions are destroyed, and her starboard landing pod is a pressurized [[Galactica Museum|museum]] which houses (among other things) a full squadron of [[Viper Mark II|Mk. II Vipers]] as well as a Viper model that appears [[Viper (TOS)|older than the Mark II]] (Miniseries, also in Deleted Scenes).

With the renewed and unexpected Cylon hostilities, ''Galactica'' quickly proves her worthiness as a warship is far from over as she sorties several Mark IIs retrieved from her museum to challenge her first Cylon attack in over 40 years (her last Mark VII squadron was sent to Caprica for reassignment). The old battlestar withstands a direct hit from a tactical nuclear missile while unsuccessfully performing evasive maneuvers, but later [[FTL|Jumps]] successfully to [[Ragnar Anchorage]] to retrieve much-needed ammunition stores at this hidden depot.

''Galactica'' finally bares her teeth in this new Cylon war as she single-handedly engages two [[Basestar (RDM)|basestars]] with her gun batteries, providing covering fire for [[The Fleet (RDM)|an assortment of 75 civilian ships]] containing the last survivors of the Twelve Colonies. All ships, with ''Galactica'' last to leave the engagement zone, escape to a destination past the [[Red Line]], never to return to Colonial space.

Since the exodus of the Colonials from their overrun homeworlds, ''Galactica'' becomes both protector and provider for the Fleet. She provides covering fire for the Fleet during Cylon attacks no fewer than 240 times ([[33]], [[Act of Contrition]]). The battlestar provides much of the Fleet with recycled water ([[Water]]) and she is the primary source of medical care, where groups of civilians are periodically brought aboard for check-ups and treatment ([[Litmus]]). ''Galactica'' also undertakes internal policing duties within the Fleet ([[Water]], [[Bastille Day]]).

''Galactica'' successfully goes on the offensive against the Cylons, capturing a [[tylium]] fuel mining and processing plant in the process ([[The Hand of God (RDM)|The Hand of God]]).

The [[Mercury class battlestar|advanced battlestar]] ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'', commanded by Admiral [[Helena Cain]], joins ''Galactica'' approximately 6 months into their exile (See the series [[Timeline (RDM)|timeline]] for special information about this milestone).

''Pegasus'' and ''Galactica'' destroy two [[Basestar (RDM)|basestars]] as well as a critical Cylon support ship known as the [[Resurrection Ship]]. After Admiral Cain's death, President [[Laura Roslin]] promotes William Adama to Admiral, restoring him to overall Fleet command, but now with two battlestars at his disposal ([[Resurrection Ship, Part II]]).

==New Caprica==
Following the founding of [[New Caprica]], ''Galactica'' is assigned to the Orbital Defense Force that protects the planet. During this time the majority of its crew are sent to the surface in an effort to populate the planet and restore the human race &mdash; including most of it's senior officers &mdash; seemingly convinced that the Cylons would never find New Caprica. The diminished staff inevitably results in basic maintenance becoming overlooked or ignored. Basic military responses, such as the launching of alert fighers become and routine training exercises become difficult to execute. One year following the founding of New Caprica, a fleet of Cylon ships Jump into orbit of the planet. Severely limited in its abilities, Admiral Adama and the Defense Fleet jumps away from New Caprica &mdash; vowing that they'd return to liberate the planet ([[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]).

Four months after the escape, ''Galactica'''s staff is still in the process of developing a rescue strategy with 16 training exercises having been completed and a 17th underway when an accident causes its early ending ([[Occupation]]). This forces both a change in strategy and the reformulation of a rescue plan to deal with personnel who have not seen conflict in 16 months. While ''Galactica'' fights to liberate the Colonials on-planet, ''Pegasus'' is assigned to protect the remaining civilian fleet and continue its search for [[Earth]] ("[[Precipice]]", "[[Exodus, Part I]]").

== Equipment ==
[[Image:BSG-KEW-Turret.jpg|thumb|One of ''Galactica''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> large [[KEW|cannon]] turrets]]
''Galactica'' shares the same overall technical specifications as other original Colonial battlestars of [[Galactica type battlestar|her class]], with the following key differences and qualifications:

===Available Flight Pods===
Only ''Galactica's'' port [[flight pod]] is in service. The starboard flight pod was enclosed and pressurized as the main museum display facility for her pending decommission. It is violently depressurized after a [[Heavy Raider]] crashes into it ([[Scattered]]). No episode since "[[Valley of Darkness]]" addresses the status of the flight pod since its depressurization.

===Nuclear Warheads===
''Galactica'' had five nuclear warheads as of "[[Bastille Day]]." Commander [[William Adama]] uses one warhead to destroy a Cylon [[Basestar (RDM)|basestar]] ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]]). Dr. [[Gaius Baltar]] cannibalizes one to use in his [[Cylon Detector]], which he later gives to [[Gina]], who detonates it aboard ''[[Cloud Nine]]''. This leaves ''Galactica'' with three warheads (It is unknown how many nuclear warheads ''Pegasus'' still had when it encountered ''Galactica'', and they may have pooled their nuclear ordnance stockpiles since then).

===Vipers===
Prior to the arrival of ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'', ''Galactica'' has at maximum thirty-four Vipers, of which at least six are Mark VIIs (c.f. [[Viper tally]]).

''Galactica'' receives additional supplies from ''Pegasus'' since her arrival that helps in repair and refurbishment of her original fighter complement; more recently, she receives new Mark VII Vipers built aboard ''Pegasus'' using raw materials mined from an asteroid and the advanced battlestar's Viper construction facilities ([[Pegasus (episode)|Pegasus,]] [[Scar]]).

===Raptors===
The number of [[Raptor|Raptors]] available to ''Galactica'' is portrayed inconsistently. The current assumption is that the battlestar has at least five Raptors, having left [[Ragnar Anchorage]] with at least eight (c.f. [[Raptor tally]]).

===Other Craft===
*''Galactica'' currently posesses two [[Heavy Raider|Heavy Raiders]]. One is hit by ''Galactica''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> defensive fire and crashes into the starboard flight pod with unknown damage ([[Scattered]]). The other returns in operational status from Caprica ([[Home, Part I]]). One of ''Galactica'''s [[Heavy Raider]]s is relieved of its FTL navigation system for use on the rescue mission to [[Caprica]] ([[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I]]).
*An experimental stealth fighter, the [[Blackbird]], is constructed using spare parts ([[Flight of the Phoenix]]) and used in a critically successful reconnaissance mission to explore the nature of what comes to be known as the [[Resurrection Ship]]. The Blackbird is later destroyed after completing her last mission during the [[Battle of the Resurrection Ship]] ([[Resurrection Ship, Part II]]).
*[[Galactica]] possesses fuel tankers used to supply fuel to Vipers and Raptors inflight without the need to dock with [[Galactica]]. These may be dedicated craft or specially fitted Shuttles or Raptors ([[Occupation]]).

=== Crew ===
Before the attack, ''Galactica'' has approximately 2,800 crewmen, while awaiting its decommissioning. By the time of the arrival of ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'', attrition has reduced this number to about 2,660. (c.f. [[Crew tally]])
*Between "[[Act of Contrition]]," and "[[Resurrection Ship, Part II]]," ''Galactica's'' offensive capability is also greatly hampered by the number of [[List of Pilots|qualified pilots]] available, and their lack of flight simulators with which to train more. Since ''Galactica''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> reunion with ''Pegasus'', this has ceased to be an issue ([[Scar]]).

[[Image:Mini gal side viper.jpg|right|thumb|A stricken and slowly spinning ''Galactica'' after a nuclear missile strike. [[Kara Thrace|Starbuck's]] [[Viper Mark II|Viper]] closes in to survey.]]
====Senior Staff before the founding of New Caprica====
*Admiral [[William Adama]] - Commanding officer
*Colonel [[Saul Tigh]] - [[Executive officer]]
*Captain [[Aaron Kelly]] - [[LSO]], Second officer
*Major (Doctor) [[Cottle]] - [[CMO]]
*Captain [[Kara Thrace]] - [[CAG]]
*Lieutenant Felix Gaeta - [[Tactical officer]], Senior Officer of the Watch
*Chief Petty Officer [[Galen Tyrol]] - Chief of the Deck
*Sergeant [[Hadrian]] - [[Master-at-Arms]]
*Petty Officer 2nd Class [[Anastasia Dualla]] - Communications officer

====Former On-screen Members of the Senior Staff====
*Captain [[Lee Adama]] - [[CAG]] (Promoted to Commander and assigned as ''Pegasus'' CO)

'''Laura Roslin''' is an unmarried<ref name="marital">According to the February issue of ''Sci Fi Magazine'', actress Mary McDonnell indicates that, according to the [[series bible]], Roslin has dated, but has never married. (Scans available on [http://www.livejournal.com/users/reedfem/158883.html Ramblings of a dorkish nature])</ref> woman with some 20 years of political experience. She serves as Secretary of Education for the Colonial [[Government]] at the time of the Cylon attack.
<br/><br/>

== Background ==
*Roslin, a former teacher, worked with [[Richard Adar]] when he was a mayor. Over the years, she herself has risen in political rank to the office of Secretary of Education.
*Adar, a married man, and Roslin are in a sexual affair<ref name="marital2>According to a December 2005 [http://www.galacticastation.com/Galactica%20Station/Archives/dec05.html interview] with Mary McDonnell in TV Guide, President Adar, a married man, was having an affair with Roslin in the twilight of his term.</ref> during the events of a teachers strike that she is trying to mediate, to Adar's objection.
*Roslin learns that she, as did her mother, has breast cancer. Unfortunately, the diagnosis is grim, as the cancer has already spread.
*Roslin sat in the Government Plaza after her doctor's appointment, where she saw [[Gaius Baltar]], the famous scientist, walking and kissing an attractive blonde, but pays it little attention.
*Roslin successfully resolves the teachers strike crisis, but Adar vehemently disagrees with her method, and asks for her resignation. She asks him to defer the matter until she returns from the decommissioning ceremonies on battlestar ''[[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]]''.
*Despite being thrust into the role of President in highly unusual and stressful circumstances, Laura Roslin initially proves herself both tough and capable within the role. Initially in awe of Commander Adama, and worrying that he didn't hold her in high regard ([[Water]]), she quickly overcomes her doubts and fears to be able to make the required decisions at the right time, and also stand up to Adama himself ([[You Can't Go Home Again]]). She is always prepared to put the safety and destiny of the Fleet first, no matter what the cost of her actions ("[[Flesh and Bone]]," "[[Home, Part I]]," "[[Home, Part II]]," "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]") while remembering her limitations and fears.

==Character History at a Glance==

*Roslin is aboard the Colonial government cruiser ''[[Colonial Heavy 798]]'', having just attended the decommissioning ceremonies for the [[Galactica type battlestar|battlestar]] ''[[Galactica]]'', when the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|information on the Cylon attack]] leaks through [[wireless]].
*Roslin attempts to serve as the government's representative to aid the ship's pilot in gaining more information. She manages to speak with [[Jack|one fellow official]] over wireless and hears the devastating news.
*The [[Case Orange]] automated beacon response assigns Roslin the role of President after Adar and other high-level government officials are dead or incapacitated.
*In the immediate aftermath of the attack, Roslin undertakes a rescue mission, using the now-renamed ''[[Colonial One]]'' to round-up all vessels that escape destruction and gathers as many survivors as possible together, hoping to save the remnants of humanity from total annihilation.
*Roslin successfully persuades ''Galactica'' commander [[William Adama]] away from his original intention of mounting a counter-attack against the [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylons]], and towards helping the new civilan fleet make its escape from occupied Colonial space.
*Since the exodus, Roslin establishes a fledgling civilian [[government]] within the [[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet]], agrees to abide by civil law regarding her interim term of office, and reestabishes a new [[Quorum of Twelve]].
*Roslin has an uneasy understanding with Commander [[William Adama|Adama]]. Where she is responsible for all civil leadership issues among the surviving Colonials, Adama is responsible for all military decisions ([[Miniseries]]). However, the dividing line is not always clear between the two leaders.
*Roslin chooses [[Chamalla]] extract as an alternative to [[diloxin]], remembering her mother's malaise with that treatment.
* Her illness remains a secret until she relates her Chamalla-induced visions of [[Kobol]] to priestess [[Elosha]], who recognizes them as those prophesized by [[Pythia]], where a dying leader will find the path to [[Earth]]. After research, she determines that she may be able to substantiate Commander Adama's fictitious knowledge of the location of Earth with a true bearing to the world using ancient Colonial history.
*Roslin convinces [[Kara Thrace|Lt. Thrace]] to use the captured Cylon Raider to return to [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]] in search of the [[Arrow of Apollo]].
*Infuriated with Roslin's countermanding and with her refusal to resign as President, Commander Adama terminates her Presidency and stages a military coup. Despite the intervention of [[Lee Adama]], Roslin is arrested and incarcerated aboard ''[[Galactica]]'' ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]]). With Vice President Baltar missing on the surface of Kobol, this effectively leaves the Fleet without any form of civil leadership, a situation worsened by an assassination attempt on William Adama himself immediately following Roslin's arrest ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]]).
*From her cell, Roslin eventually tells the Quorum of Twelve, many of who are [[Gemenon]], of her role in the [[Sacred Scrolls]], and begins to gain significant underground civilian support for her cause.
*Roslin escapes ''Galactica'' and, with the help of rival [[Tom Zarek]], convinces over a third of the fleet to [[Laura Roslin faction|join her in the search for the Tomb]]. Roslin's ability to lead and command becomes stronger throughout this time, able to keep Zarek's ambitions at bay and deliver decisions faster than before.
*With the recovered Arrow, Roslin heads an hazardous expedition on Kobol to find the Tomb, with the aid of a second copy of [[Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy)|Sharon Valerii]] and priestess Elosha.
*The recovered Commander Adama gains refreshed insight on the need for the Fleet to stay united, and leaves to find Roslin's expedition on the surface of Kobol ([[Home, Part II]]).
*During the Kobol expedition, [[Elosha]] is killed. Roslin takes Elosha's blood-spattered copy of the Sacred Scrolls to guide her and to remember her friend.
*Commander Adama greets Roslin warmly on his arrival at her camp on Kobol. The two leaders have a heart-to-heart talk about her rebellion, which Adama forgives. Roslin thanks Adama, calling him "Bill" casually, though she notes that she didn't require permission for what she had to do. Roslin worries that, with talk of the [[Caprica Resistance]], that her insistence to Adama to leave the Colonial worlds behind was a mistake. Adama, also calling Roslin by her first name, firmly chastizes her, reminding Roslin that her decision was correct. If he had chosen to stay, Adama, his son, and all of humanity would be dead.
*Adama and Roslin's party later find the Tomb. With some teamwork, they discover and activate the Tomb's virtual hologram mechanism. Roslin's gamble on faith pays off big for humanity, and the group gains a map and guide to the true location of Earth.
*Back on ''Galactica'', Commander Adama introduces Roslin as President during a speech on the ship, and leads the audience in a rousing ovation on her return, publicly burying the hatchet between them.
*Adama and Roslin's respect for each other grew stronger and their leadership in managing fleet business became more cooperative, asking each other for advice and correcting each other as needed. They work together in getting reporter [[D'anna Biers]] corralled from her potentially disruptive tabloid expose' of the ''[[Gideon]]'' shootings by giving her almost-unlimited access to interview ''Galactica's'' crew. She creates a rousing documentary that meets her and Adama's approval ([[Final Cut]]).
*The military crew honors Roslin by christening a [[Blackbird|new experimental stealth fighter]] by the name, ''Laura'', a gesture that brings tears to the President.
*Despite the pleasure of the arrival of battlestar ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'', Roslin becomes concerned about Cain's abrupt command style and refusal to supply the civilian fleet.
*After a near-disasterous military confrontation between the two battlestar commanders, Roslin chastises them both and tells them to concentrate on [[Resurrection Ship|more important matters]]. Privately, Roslin tells Adama that Cain, whose power can radically affect the remnant of humanity both Roslin and Adama have strived so hard to protect, must be killed if Adama and the Fleet are to survive.
[[Image:Roslinadama.jpg|Roslin and Adama.|thumb]]
*After the battle, and Admiral [[Helena Cain|Cain's death]], Roslin, now more frail with her illness, promotes William Adama to Admiral. The new admiral gives the president a kiss.
*Roslin is miraculously saved by the injection of stem cells<ref>In the commentary track for "Epiphanies," Ron Moore states that a longer explanation of Roslin's cure was filmed that explained that the blood's stem cells cure Roslin. However, the scene was cut because he was afraid it would be too complicated and thought of as [[technobabble]]. The character's updated biography on the official Scifi.com site does confirm that stem cells from the hybrid were the actual cure. As such, Battlestar Wiki treats this data canonically as with information found in most deleted scenes.</ref> from the Cylon [[Hera|hybrid fetus]], which apparently eradicate her cancer ([[Epiphanies]]). In the hours prior to the cure, however, Roslin remembers her last days on Caprica, including the attractive blonde with Dr. Baltar, her vice-president. She now recognizes the woman as a copy of a [[Number Six|Cylon agent]].
*Roslin confronts Baltar on his association and later confesses the memory to William Adama ([[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]).
*Roslin dives into work with a dispassionate manner not unlike her predecessor, Richard Adar, including an attempt to stop the [[Black market (organization)|black market]] , handling the terrible loss of [[Billy Keikeya]], and the upcoming presidential election.
*Roslin's new aide, [[Tory Foster]], is an energetic young woman with a great deal of political drive.
*Complicating what may have been an easy re-election include Roslin's decision to enforce a no-abortion law to aid in repopulation while allowing a Gemenese girl [[Rya Kibby]] to have an abortion, angering Gemenon representative [[Sarah Porter]] and losing most support from Roslin's religious base.
*Expecting [[Tom Zarek]] to run for president, Roslin is shocked when her own vice president, Dr. Baltar, challenges Roslin for the presidency.
*Convinced that that the only way to keep the newborn Cylon-hybrid, [[Hera]], alive but out of the eye of Cylon agents, Roslin has the infant's death faked and hands the child over to a foster mother named [[Maya]] ([[Downloaded]]).
*Roslin easily leads Baltar in the election polls, but with the discovery of a habitable planet dubbed "[[New Caprica]]", Baltar finds the perfect wedge issue to use against Roslin. Despite the extreme difficulties of colonization, the people of the Fleet vote their extreme hopes over their rational fears and Roslin's voice of reason.
*Roslin gives Foster tacit approval to rig the election in order to save the Fleet from electing someone that she knows (in her heart) is a Cylon conspirator. But the fraud is discovered. Admiral Adama confers with Roslin and convinces her that rigging a democratic election was a line that they simply cannot cross. He indicates that the people have made the wrong decision to elect Baltar president, probably even a disastrous choice, but it was their choice.
*Roslin agrees to back down, and Adama announces a mistake in the vote count. A perturbed Baltar doesn't press further, content with having won the election, and orders colonization of New Caprica immediately after his swearing-in.

==Currently...==
[[Image:2BATgyC05.jpg|Roslin as a teacher on New Caprica.|thumb]]

A year passes on New Caprica, and Baltar's administration becomes the unmitigated, incompetent disaster that Roslin had feared. Meanwhile, Roslin returns to her old love of teaching, running the new settlement's school. Assisted by [[Maya]], who brings her infant daughter [[Hera|Isis]] (the secreted Cylon hybrid), Roslin is more comfortable watching over the pair personally.

Three-hundred-eighty days after settling on the planet, the Cylons discover the colony, as Roslin had warned, and occupy the settlement ([[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]). She is detained for a short period during which [[Baltar]] attempts to convince her to publically denounce the Resistance suicide bombings, but failing that, has her released. She is later collected in the round up of 200 suspected resistance members, including [[Tom Zarek]] and [[Cally]], for execution ([[Precipice]]).
<div style="clear: both;"></div>

==Notes==

*The character of Laura Roslin is unique to the Re-imagined Series. It shares no counterpart to the [[Original Series]], where its version of President [[Adar (TOS)|Adar]] is killed, but a presidential replacement is never made.

*Roslin's apparent cure in "[[Epiphanies]]" contradicts the "dying leader" clause of the [[Pythia|Pythian Prophecy]], despite the fulfillment of her role in the [[Tomb of Athena]] story arc. Indications from the creators of the show suggest that Roslin's health trials may not yet be over.

*Actress Mary McDonnell is perhaps best known for her role in the epic film, ''Dances with Wolves'', with Kevin Costner. She also played a First Lady in "Independence Day", another film which, in a far more campy way, depicts cocky human fighter pilots battling an enemy from outer space that attempts to exterminate mankind.

*The glasses her character wears are also her real glasses.<ref>{{cite_web|url=http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/video/index.php?cat=features&vid=37452|title=Mary McDonnell Q & A, Part 1|date=2006-10-13|accessdate=2006-10-14|last=|first=|format=VID|language=English}}</ref>

During the exercise, it responds to a distress signal with [[Raptor 314]] within the dark clouds of a binary star system. Not long after, the crews of both Raptors no longer respond and are presumed lost or disabled within the cloud.

Raptor 718 and its companion Raptor are found by battlestar ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'', its crew inside killed and its cockpit vented to space.

The Raptors were bait by the Cylons to lure Colonial forces into the cloud, as predicted by Admiral [[William Adama|Adama]]. The Raptors are abandoned after three Cylon [[Basestar (RDM)|basestars]] ambush ''Pegasus'', eventually forcing it to retreat ([[The Captain's Hand]]).

{{Project|Featured Articles|shortcut=BW:FA<br/>BW:FAC<br/>BW:PFAC}}
== Criteria for a Featured Article ==

* [[Battlestar Wiki:Find or fix a stub|Stubs]]
* Talk pages

== Identifying a Potential Featured Article ==

#Previous featured article candidates will be marked with {{tl|featured article candidate previous}} to indicate that they were previously nominated.
