Anastasia Dualla du.ˈɑ.lə is the former Communications Officer of battlestar Galactica. She is the wife of Major Lee Adama and, prior to its destruction, was the Executive Officer of the battlestar Pegasus.

Biography
Dualla's father thought that her enlistment in the Colonial Fleet Reserve was crazy, and he viewed the military as a joke. She signed up anyway because she "wanted to believe in something." This rift with her father would continue throughout her service and the last time they spoke they got in a heated argument; three weeks later the Cylons attacked, and Dualla never got a chance to reconcile with him (Final Cut).

At the time of the Cylon attack she monitors fleet-wide communications. Dualla is among the first to notice the unusually high levels of shipboard malfunctions and failures aboard other battlestars (Miniseries).

After the Cylon attack, she coordinates Fleet activities like jumps with Tactical Officer Felix Gaeta. In this responsibility, she discovers that the Olympic Carrier fails to jump with the fleet after yet another jump to escape a 5-day long, relentless attack by the Cylons after their escape from Ragnar Anchorage (33).

Due to his attraction to Dualla, presidential aide Billy Keikeya "volunteers" her to join an off-ship mission to the Astral Queen (Bastille Day). Led by Captain Lee Adama, the mission is to attempt enlistment of prisoners aboard the Queen in resupplying Galactica with water following an act of sabotage (Water). During the mission, the team is taken hostage by prisoners during a jail break lead by fellow Sagittaron and political agitator Tom Zarek.

Freed without personal harm during this situation, Dualla returns Billy Keikeya's affections, and they date during off-duty periods (Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down).

When a party of Cylons boards the Galactica, Dualla suffers a concussion, but survives the engagement (Valley of Darkness). Later, Dualla aids in Laura Roslin's escape from Galactica after the President's arrest by covering up the tracks of their secret communications coordinating their movements in the Fleet, and getting Colonel Tigh to sign permission to close off a causeway which they use as an escape route. At this time, Dualla seems to take a greater personal interest in Apollo (Resistance).

Dualla is assigned to give D'anna Biers a tour around the battlestar as part of Biers' documentary of the ship (Final Cut). Lee Adama seems to return Dualla's personal attraction during a sparring exercise with the petty officer (Flight of the Phoenix).

Dualla's avionics training helps in building a stable communications package for the experimental Blackbird fighter (Flight of the Phoenix).

Keikeya, apparently attempting to solidify his relationship with the petty officer, proposes to Dualla, but she refuses. Keikeya later sees Dualla with Lee Adama on Cloud 9 and accuses her of leading him on. Shortly after Keikeya's accusation, four terrorists commandeer the lounge and its occupants and demand the surrender of Sharon Valerii. When a ruse by Admiral William Adama is discovered, the leader of the the terrorists orders Dualla's death. Keikeya intervenes and manages to shoot one of the terrorists, but his target fatally wounds Keikeya before dying. In the same battle, Lee Adama is left severely wounded from a friendly-fire incident during an ill-fated reconnaisance by Kara Thrace. Dualla promises to watch over Lee Adama until he recovers in sickbay. When he finally regained consciousness, Dualla was so happy that neither of them noticed Thrace leaving the sickbay with a heartbroken expression (Sacrifice).

A few months later, still involved with Apollo, Dualla assists in the counting of ballots for the Presidential election. Dualla conspires with Tory Foster and Saul Tigh to rig the election in Roslin's favor, indicating that she comprehends the disaster that would follow if Baltar is elected. Though the plot initially succeeds, Lt. Gaeta's curiosity leads to Admiral Adama's discovery of the duplicity. Adama covers up the plot but returns the vote, for better or worse, to its actual result, with Baltar being elected to the Presidency. Baltar's first order of business is for the colonization of New Caprica.

Colonization of New Caprica
A year later, most of the crew and fleet have settled on New Caprica. However, Dualla is married to Commander Lee Adama and promoted from Petty Officer 2nd Class to Lieutenant, serving as Communications and Executive Officer on Pegasus, part of its skeletan crew in orbit around New Caprica. She answers the communication from Kara Thrace on New Caprica, who wants to ask Lee for antibiotics for her, now husband, Samuel Anders. Dualla's reaction when handing Lee the reciever seems to indicate that he might have told her of his affair with Thrace on New Caprica. While Lee is on the phone Dualla's keen eyes pick up DRADIS contacts, which gives the Fleet advance warning to the arrival of a large Cylon fleet. The remnants of the Fleet jump away, hoping to return to liberate New Caprica another day (Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II).

The Battle of New Caprica
Four months after the fleet has fled Dualla continues as XO of Pegasus (Occupation). After Admiral Adama decides to go through with the rescue operation, Dualla is visually disturbed that he has chosen Lieutenant Sharon Agathon to be the liason officer with the New Caprica Resistance(Precipice).

Dualla tries to reassure here husband, Commander Adama (Exodus Part II), after Admiral Adama decides to take Galactica alone on the New Caprica rescue mission (Exodus, Part I).

Eventually Commander Adama defies orders and returns to New Caprica to assist the Galactica, giving it time to jump away. Dualla, the Commander, and the crew of the Pegasus escape back to the fleet on evac Raptors after the Pegasus is critically damaged (Exodus Part II).
According to Ron Moore's blog entry on April 18, 2006, Dualla is actually more or less directly inspired by Rigel, saying Dualla is "filling the role of another woman in the original BSG series who used to man the communication system on their bridge. That character was called "Rigel" but I didn't think that name worked in the remake, so I gave her the name of Dualla."
*Dualla was known throughout all of the first season and part of of the second season only as "Dualla" or "Dee". Her first name was finally revealed in the episode, "Final Cut" in an on screen caption during her documentary interview; her first name has yet to be spoken aloud. "Anastasia" means "resurrection" in Greek.
*Grace Park initially auditioned for the role of Dualla, before being asked to audition for the role of Starbuck, and finally being cast as Sharon "Boomer" Valerii.
I think that's something that happened in the year off and I think that essentially so many people left Galactica and Pegasus that they really are on skeleton crews and, y'know, somebody like Dualla that went to Pegasus to be with Lee, presumably, and we'll deal more with— we have episodes that deal more with the circumstances of that in season three, and how that happened and why, but the idea was she essentially went over there and more people kept leaving and leaving, and Lee made her the XO.

I think this is pretty clear, given the source, so we can probably get rid of "presumed" from the succession box. I do want to point out that she'd pretty much have to be a captain or higher to be in the XO position (Captain Aaron Kelly filled in as XO while Tigh was in command). For Dualla to go from PO2 (E-5) to Captain (O-4) in a year would demand both a very fast series of promotions, and a very high rate of attrition within the officer ranks. I don't think it's completely implausible, but it's hard to imagine that Pegasus didn't have a single officer left with any command competence. It's also probably not good military practice to have one's significant other in a directly subordinate position, but Dualla's strong willed enough (c.f. Home, Part I) that it's probably not a huge problem. --Peter Farago 16:56, 24 March 2006 (CST)
:If normal military protocol were still being strictly followed, you'd be right about the promotions and the relationship issues. However, this is no longer a remotely normal situation. One of the interesting differences between Original Series protocol and RDM Series protocol is that the Original Series treated battlestars like fiefdoms, and it was perfectly normal for Adama and Cain to have their children serving with them; like a feudal lord, Adama was both a military and a civilian leader (he was on the Quorom at the same time as being Commander of Galactica). At the outset, the RDM Series was modeling Colonial military protocol on US protocol -- strict separation of military and civilian concerns, and civilian control of the military, even in extremis. That disciplined, constitutional and republican (small 'r' deliberate) approach now appears to be breaking down because it's increasingly impractical to enforce.--Uncle Mikey 11:35, 25 March 2006 (CST)

::Still, isn't it odd that Bill Adama had at least two officers serving under him (Tigh and Helo) while Lee had to promote an enlisted crewman to be his XO? I would think the most appropriate way to distribute personnel would have been for Bill to loan Helo to Lee. --Peter Farago 12:25, 25 March 2006 (CST)
Really, of the people we know are officers, there aren't very many left (except on the technicality that all pilots, however green, are officers). Which is one of the things that's going to make S3 interesting -- all the old relationships are really totally jumbled up, now, and a lot of the people Adama had come to depend upon are no longer available to him. Setting aside the rest of the fleet for the moment, Adama has taken Galactica out to sea (as it were) without his senior CPO, who was also the best mechanic and manager of mechanics available (Tyrol), along with at least some of the flight deck crew; without trusted bridge officers like Tigh and Gaeta; and without trusted pilots like Thrace and his son (albeit the latter for different reasons). Unless there was some degree of conscription/coercion involved (not my impression), he's left with a purely voluntary corps who are still on board not because of their skills or specialties, but because of their scepticism in the viability of New Caprica and/or their dedication to the idea that New Caprica still needs a defence.--Uncle Mikey 12:43, 25 March 2006 (CST)
:Not trying to be combative, but using Trek as an example or counter-example of anything regarding military protocol is a bad idea. Considering that the production staff could not itself agree whether Starfleet was or was not a military organisation in the first place (Roddenberry was adamant that it was not), Trek's grasp of how real militaries historically have worked was extremely slippery. It could get away with a lot simply by saying, "This is the shiny happy future. Things change!" Galactica can get away with some similar slipperyness because this isn't "our" culture, but enough effort has been made to make it cognate with our culture that there are limits to what they can do and not have "bullshit" called. I think it's interesting that in the flashbacks of Unfinished Business she's already promoted to some Officer rank. That episode's flashbacks occurred before the mass exodus of military personnel from Galactica and Pegasus, showing that her promotion wasn't necessitated by an officer shortage and wasn't necessarily nepotism b/c she wasn't yet married to Lee. Perhaps she completed some sort of undergraduate degree and was then able to be commissioned..?
Dualla to die by episode 3?
As with my speculation on Laura Roslin buying the farm in season 3 (per a David Eick TV Guide interview that a "very central character" will die by that time), it's logical that Dualla may be that character. For one, her existance conflicts with the Apollo/Starbuck arc. Two, her position on Pegasus (which can't possibly stick around through all of season 3) invites her to a greater chance of death. It is less likely that Lee Adama will die if Dualla is feeling self-sacrificial for her love. Battlestars don't drive themselves, you know. Just a thought. --Spencerian 10:52, 6 October 2006 (CDT)
:I thought this was a spoiler. Speculation (especially reasoned speculation), is an entirely different matter. As for her buying it... I think they'd need to build up some goodwill for her first. I think if they killed her right now (pre-season 3) there'd be more celebrations than lamentation. Casting her in a more postive light, then killing her, would be more effective. (If it were to be done at all.) All we know is that she's delegated to surface mission (as is Starbuck, Tyrol or Apollo) - after collecting all necessary resources she'll most probably be back in CIC. Instead of having Gaeta running between Tactical and the FTL and every other station, he's placed Hoshi at Communiucations, Dualla at Tactical (using her experience as XO), and Gaeta near the FTL but still overseeing all.
An interesting note about the ships of Pegasus's short-lived fleet was that several of them had weapons which were later removed on Admiral Cain's orders.

Also, the FTL drives on the ships were removed, but for unknown use (it can be assumed that the FTL drives would probably be too small for Pegasus and too big for Vipers/Raptors, so maybe they were used for parts in the event that the FTL of the Pegasus or a Raptor might break down, Note that this is pure speculation).

Pegasus Images
There's a ton of close up Pegasus shots in the file list that aren't being used. Flyby's, zoomins on various components, etc. Should we use some of them here (or elsewhere)? I'm on something of a campaign to clean up (delete) pics that aren't being used (due to this discussion), and this was the biggest pattern I could find. If they're worth keeping around, I won't object, but it seems like if they were worth using they would have been linked to (especially since some of them have been around since September).--Steelviper 17:29, 16 January 2006 (EST)
Pegasus Registry Number
I am nearly positive that Pegasus' registry number is BS-62, however, I will present my evidence before (and if) I make an edit to the article.

A. Pictures:

B. Reasoning: We know that Galactica's registry number is BS-75. Galactica was also a member of BSG-75. I think that its safe to say that Battlestar Groups are numbered after the registry of their Battlestar, or else this is a pretty big coincidence. Pegasus' was a member of BSG-62, and the registry in those pictures looks like BS-62.

Thats why I made the orignal edit to the article. If we still think this isn't enough evidence, I won't edit it again. --BMS 17:58, 25 January 2006 (EST)

:But your reasoning is utterly irrelevant. Ron D. Moore has stated, in his blog, that it is not a registry number but the number of their Battlestar Group. The number written on their hulls and ship emblem on their seals and patches seen since the miniseries say "BSG 75". They just like to display their Group number instead of registry; not exactly like Earth military now, etc. I'm sorry, but none of us will probably say this is good evidence; you haven't been here for a while BMS, but this has all be gone over a lot already. More importantly, Ron D. Moore said that MORE THAN ONE Battlestar is usually in a Battlestar Group. It's like a navy carrier battlegroup. it can't be "Groups are number after the registry of their battlestar", because that would be ONE Battlestar, singular. There are multiple Battlestars in each Group.--Ricimer 18:17, 25 January 2006 (EST)

::Ricimer, I am completley aware that there is a difference between BS and BSG. And I am fully aware that BSGs can have multiple Battlestars, I read that blog too and have seen that article within the wiki. But, the Galactica BSG is clearly named after Galactica's registry - BS-75. You can see BS-75 emblazoned on the flight pods below "Galactica" in high-res captures. If you want to extend the battle group analogy that RDM brought up, its notable that modern carrier battle groups (battle group is actually an obsolete term, they are now called "carrier strike groups" - thought CVBG is still used as an acronym) are named after their flagship. For instance, the battle group with the USS Abraham Lincoln as the flag is called the Abraham Lincoln Strike Group. Pegasus was the lead of her BSG. The flag officer commanding BSG-62, Cain, made her flag on Pegasus. Therefore, just like BSG-75 is named after Galactica BS-75, BSG-62 is named after Pegasus BS-62. But if you still don't believe me, I've uploaded a clear screencap of the flightpod, showing the text "Pegasus BS 62" from Resurrection Ship, pt. 2. --BMS 23:15, 25 January 2006 (EST)
:::Obviously the facts speak for themselves, but I'm going to chime in in BMS' defense here. The evidence is unequivocal. Thank you for researching the issue so thoroughly. --Peter Farago 02:38, 26 January 2006 (EST)
::::Thanks Peter. During my research, I found it interesting that modern carrier strike groups are almost never refered to as "CVBG 71" or something similar, like they are in the Galactica universe. I bet that it's because RDM thought "Galactica Strike Group" sounded unweildy, but BSG 75 sounded cool. --BMS 13:00, 26 January 2006 (EST)

:I agree that it's BS-62. It's visible in the CIC wall in "Pegasus" and "Resurrection Ship" and visible on the podium in the pilot briefing room. --Talos 18:13, 25 January 2006 (EST)
Four Landing Strips?
Did I just notice four landing strips in The Captain's Hand? one right side up and one upside down (relative to the rest of the shape, this is space after all, everything is relative). This would make sense with the images of the upside down launch tubes. Yes, the Pegasus was flying "inverted" relative to the Cameras POV...however the Pegasus does indeed possess 4 landing strips, @ 2 strips per Flight Pod. look at the following image: http://www.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Image:Pegasus01.jpg you can clearly see 4 landing strips in that image. As well as the fact that when she is recalling her vipers you can clearly see Vipers entering the Port Flight pod on both sides of the center line. :BS 62 is the hull number. Think of it this way - in WW2, USS Saratoga (Hull number: CV-3) was the center of Task Force 38. In this case, the Group number (BSG) happens to coincide with the hull number of the lead ship (BS), but they're still separate designations. --Peter Farago 09:33, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
:::Perhaps Peggie was the group flagship and the BSG is numbered after her, afterall she had a flag officer in command. Galactica could also be the same, in the Navy the USS Constitution, the oldest ship commisioned in the Navy is a flagship. Galactica might have had a similar role in the colonial fleet, compare how big the decommisioning ceremony was to the one for the USS Oriskany, the last of the WWII era Essex-class fleet carriers in active service (ironic because Oriskany was just sank a few days ago). --Talos 09:47, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
::::I agree with Mercifull and his point of view. As with the designation, BSG stands for Battlestar group, NOT battlestar galactica. == Reverse Gravity? ==

A recent edit added a mention of the 4 landing strips and then talked about gravity. As far as I know, and I may be wrong, Galactica uses magnets, not gravity for landing Vipers. I would assume, then, that Pegasus does, as well. Thus, moving from any of the five available flight pods would be the same, since the magnets would little affect the non-metalic pilots. Anyone else think the same way? --Day (Talk - Admin) 02:44, 12 July 2006 (CDT)
:Agreed: we aren't actually sure if there's a different graviety field or not; they land using magnets. For all we know they climb out upside down (though this would be odd, maybe they have a platform that 180's I dunno): point is, it's speculation and might not necessarily be different gravity fields so we shouldn't assume its that. --The Merovingian (C - E) 22:03, 12 July 2006 (CDT)

:: Well, the way I envision it all working is that you land you fighter and then sit in it through some kind of retreival process that all happens in zero-g except for the end which transitions you to gravity and sets you down on the hanger deck. That gives plenty of time for The Beast to flip half her fighters over before they're under noticable gravity. All of that is, of course, speculation. They then twist in flight to orient themselves with the rest of the squadron. This seems to me, that there are 2 hangar decks, one upside-up and one upside-down, for each flight pod. The bottom one would use reverse gravity. If there was only one upside-up hangar deck I don't know why or how they would wheel a Viper into an upside down tube to launch, especially since the pilot can just twist in flight anyway. If every other lauch tube had a track that twisted the Viper 180° like a roller coaster you could get away with the one hangar deck, but I don't know. ==Not the First Pegasus==
I was looking through the first issue of the BSG magazine, and in the section where it talks about Battlestars and names quite a few, it names that before the Cylon war there were 5 original Battlestars, and one of these is called "Pegasus". Is this another Battlestar, perhaps having being destroyed and the new one was named in it's honor, or was it refitted? --Sauron18 03:32, 24 July 2006 (CDT)
:Possibly an error maybe? Pegasus is a Mercury class battlestar comparared to the original Galactica type so we can rule out a re-fit and as its not known as Pegasus II so would seem to also rule out a previous incarnation of the same name. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 03:57, 24 July 2006 (CDT)

My purpose in maintaining this list was to keep track of the fleet's limited manpower, which was made quite a big deal of in "Act of Contrition". However, the number of possible pilots was clearly exceeded in the episode "Flight of the Phoenix", which seems to indicate that the showrunners are no longer keeping track. Furthermore, the episode "Pegasus" is scheduled to introduce several new pilots, which will probably make this even more difficult and fruitless to keep track of. I see two options here:

*Note that the list covers the events of the Mini-series through "Final Cut" and leave it as a reference to those episodes.
*Reformat to include Pegasus characters but keep track of them separately, using the following outline structure:

*Active
**Galactica
***Vipers
: IMHO, I think it is still a useful resource. Pilots are not easily replaced, but the influx of people from the Pegasus will likely cause some issues with this list, skewing the numbers a bit. Just my .02 cubits. -- Joe Beaudoin 22:44, 21 September 2005 (EDT)

: I think it's premature to decide the writers have given up pilot continuity because of one effects continuity error. I would suggest that keeping track as much as possible and making careful judgements as to whether any further sorties seem plausible is still a valuable service. Even with the Pegasus squadron around as an unknown X factor we might get more dialogue indicating the number of pilots in the fleet. -- Dogger 21:37, 07 December 2005 (EDT)
I think the actual "numbers" section should be divided into pre- and post-Pegasus. I'd like to add something to the pilot number for Act of Contrition when Apollo is talking to Starbuck about washing out the nuggets. The 21 wouldn't include the 7 pilots (Raptor or Viper) that were injured and sent to sickbay. These extra 7 pilots could all be Viper pilots or suviving Raptor pilots, we don't really know, but I think this is worth mentioning. When Adama recruits Gal-Boomer to fly in KLG2, he says this: "Things are moving very quickly and I need every pilot." We can assume he's not an idiot, and knew that she had just survived a suicide attempt, so she must actually have been his very last competant Raptor pilot. I'm going to go ahead and add a new pilot to Pegasus's roster. Fei "Freaker" Firelli was listed in the closing credits of Resurrection Ship Part 1, and since there was only one minor pilot in the episode (the one that tangled with Kat during the Dog Fight), I'm listing him under Pegasus. Unfortunately, the credits rolled too fast for me to check out the actor who played him, but at least we have a name for now. --Ltcrashdown 02:04, 7 January 2006 (EST)

:Oops, my mistake. I doubt anyone caught this, but it was a different pilot tangling with Kat in the dogfight. THis pilot was Richard "Buster" Bayer, according to http://www.battlestargalactica.com/outside_docs/bg_outdoc0015.htm and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407362/guests under the credits for episode 2.11. This corresponds to the barely visible 'Uster' seen under the pilot during the dogfight scene. I guess that "Freaker" is a pilot cut from the episode because I don't remember any other pilots other than the Galactica regulars, Stinger, and Kat. I'll move Firelli to the Viper list and replace Buster on the Pegasus list.
Cruft Removal
After chewing on the numbers and reflecting on Galactica's recruitment practices, it's clear to me that keeping track of a maximum number of pilots available is a fruitless exercise. Unless anyone is especially attached to the analysis content of this article, I would like to strike it and reduce the page to a more streamlined list. --Peter Farago 19:59, 5 February 2006 (EST)

:I'm not sure I agree with striking it altogether, although I don't really care where it goes or what it's paired with. Two reasons: (a) As we have just seen in the Season 2 finale Lay Down Your Burdens, this show can change radically. Recruitment practices that apply today might not be feasible tomorrow. In Season 4 there might three pilots left. You just don't know, is my point. And (b) even if pilot count never becomes an issue again, it most certainly was an issue in the early episodes, so this analysis still have value to resolve arguments about those episodes.--Dogger 22:14, 14 March 2006 (CST)

:Just to clarify -- I always thought it was a little bit odd to have the analysis of the numbers of pilots and vipers on the 'List of Pilots' page. To me they serve two entirely different functions: that of 'databasing' or cataloguing show elements, and that of tracking the show's continuity and logic. I have written a proposal for a separate 'Logic & Continuity' page and posted it in My Talk for my user (sorry I don't quite know how to link properly yet). If this page is created, we can move the numerical analysis of pilots to be the first item on it.--Dogger 06:18, 16 March 2006 (CST)
Mentioned-Only Characters
I'd like to suggest that some of the 'mentioned-only' characters be incorporated into the main body of pilot listings. While some callsigns from the mini may make sens to be listed under 'status unknown', I think names like Beehive and Stubbs should be included in the main Galactica pilot list because it's hard to explain why they are listed at the bottom, while other 'mentioned-only' callsigns or names are put in the main body. If anyone agrees, I'll swap the names out right away. --Ltcrashdown 23:07, 22 February 2006 (EST)

:They're listed at the bottom because unnamed pilots matching their description have been killed since their last appearance. We have no reason not to suspect that Stubbs wasn't the pilot of, say, Raptor 3, gunned down in KLG 2. Thus, he's in the "Status Unknown" category, which is at the bottom, after "Deceased". --Peter Farago 02:54, 23 February 2006 (EST)
::A few points to any revisers (Talos, that would be you) as the originator of this page (and it was my very first contribution to the wiki): The original purpose here was to keep track of named and unnamed pilots during the pilot shortage which lasted from "Act of Contrition" to "Resurrection Ship, Part II". During this time no continuity errors were ever encountered. In light of this, and the non-issue of pilot availability since the start of the second season, it may be wise to dispense entirely with that function of the page.
::I originally had pilots grouped by ship and specialty (Viper/Raptor/ECO). Since there is now only one ship, and since both Viper pilots like Apollo, Kat and Hot Dog and ECOs like Helo and Racetrack have been repeatedly shown to be competent Raptor pilots, these distinctions no longer seem as relevant. However, it's worth noting that Helo, Athena, Racetrack, and other Raptor-associated pilots have yet to be seen piloting Vipers, and ECO duties continue to be performed by specialists. Perhaps we could whip up a set of icons to use to indicate qualifications (Viper, Raptor and DRADIS icons, maybe?). --Peter Farago 22:25, 11 December 2006 (CST)

*Active
**Galactica
***Vipers
***Raptors
***ECOs
***Others
**Pegasus
***Vipers
***Raptors
***ECOs
***Others
*Deceased
**Galactica
...

or

*Galactica
**Active
***Vipers
***Raptors
*Pegasus
**Active
***Vipers
...

et cetera. Do any of you have any thoughts? Is this even a useful resource, now that the showrunners are apparently not keeping track themselves? --Peter Farago 17:44, 21 September 2005 (EDT)

Post-Pegasus

*Active
**Galactica
***Vipers
***Raptors
***ECOs
***Others
**Pegasus
***Vipers
***Raptors
***ECOs
***Others
*Deceased
**Galactica
...

or

*Galactica
**Active
***Vipers
***Raptors
***ECOs
***Others
**Deceased
...
*Pegasus
**Active
***Vipers
...

et cetera. Do any of you have any thoughts? Is this even a useful resource, now that the showrunners are apparently not keeping track themselves? --Peter Farago 17:44, 21 September 2005 (EDT)

That said, I think the format of having separate lists for "those originally from Galactica" and "those originall from Pegasus" should work; for example, if Starbuck ends up on Pegasus for an extended period of time, having her mini-bio in this pilot list put in the Galactica-Pilots list, but within the bio mention "currently assigned to Pegasus". --Ricimer 22:37, 7 December 2005 (EST)

I'd like to add something to the pilot number for Act of Contrition when Apollo is talking to Starbuck about washing out the nuggets. I got the idea that when Apollo said he only had 21 pilots for 40 Vipers, he meant he 'currently' only had 21. The 21 wouldn't include the 7 pilots (Raptor or Viper) that were injured and sent to sickbay. These extra 7 pilots could all be Viper pilots or suviving Raptor pilots, we don't really know, but I think this is worth mentioning. It could account for extra pilots in the rest of the series. Ltcrashdown December 23, 2005
When Adama recruits Gal-Boomer to fly in KLG2, he says this: "Things are moving very quickly and I need every pilot." We can assume he's not an idiot, and knew that she had just survived a suicide attempt, so she must actually have been his very last competant Raptor pilot. At this time, five raptor pilots were deployed (two dead on Kobol, three or four to Colonial One, depending on whether Apollo was a pilot or passenger) Thus, we can conclude that as of KLG, pt. II, there were no more than six or seven extant raptor pilots. Does this sound fair? --Peter Farago 20:54, 30 December 2005 (EST)
::I went ahead and adjusted the notes. Should Lee Adama be added to the inactive pilot list? I notice he's not listed under anything right now. --ltcrashdown
:::Well, given his command of Pegasus, I sincerely doubt that he has had the time to keep up on his flight hours. However, this is more of a conjecture on my part, since nothing for or against this has indicated his pilot status. For instance, I know that command officers who wish to retain an active flight status have to log in a certain amount of hours per month (or evaluation period, IIRC). Since nothing similar has been indicated thus far, I don't know how accurate this is in the BSG universe. We may find out tonight, though. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 09:26, 6 October 2006 (CDT)
Update
This list needs a serious update. Since Pegasus is no more, the lists should be merged and every pilot not seen on the chart in The Passage should be moved to "status unknown". There are some new names there, too Ausir 13:28, 9 December 2006 (CST)
:::FYI, I'm working on a new draft myself. --Peter Farago 01:52, 12 December 2006 (CST)
::::I agree with your thoughts on the page. I tried to reply late last night but it wouldn't go through. Anyway, what you've done to the page is exactly what I was thinking, even down to the letters to represent qualifications. Good work! --Talos 07:41, 12 December 2006 (CST)
:::::Thanks. Do you think someone could whip up some cute icons to replace the V/R/E badges? Maybe a DRADIS display or a radar dish for ECO qualification? Or would that look cluttery? --Peter Farago 19:00, 13 December 2006 (CST)
:::::I think the V/R/E works, although a little upper pic of a Viper, a Raptor, and maybe a DRADIS screen, colored and almost chibi could work. --Talos 20:50, 13 December 2006 (CST)
::::::Like these? (BTW, are you the same Talos that created these?) --Peter Farago 01:46, 14 December 2006 (CST)
Raygun
So I recently "received" this episode, and I noticed that when Adama was putting Kat in her place on the board, the name Raymond "Raygun" Lai was up there. Now We all remember his viper is the one Kara Thrace took out of the museum in the miniseries, so, is he still active? How old is this guy? --Zach Schmidt
:It's such an obvious (and minor) blooper that I don't think it's worth the confusion of noting here. If someone mentions him in dialogue, it'll be worth revisiting. --Peter Farago 01:45, 14 December 2006 (CST)
