An official Galactica manual was published in 1980 and sold through Starlog and at cons. It identified these beings as the Hasari. Obviously they are not &quot;whale like&quot; in any way and they are not &quot;Cylon civilians&quot;. Cylons have no need of civilians and if they did they would resemble themselves (reptiles) and would not have human shaped heads.</div>
