Specialist Cally is a deckhand aboard Battlestar Galactica assigned to Chief Galen Tyrol. At the time of the Cylon Attack on the Colonies, she was attached to Deck Crew 5, and was responsible for Viper and Raptor maintenance (Mini-Series). She is particularly adept at finding ways around the lack of replacement parts aboard Galactica, seen in her jury-rigging of several Vipers and Raptors. Cally only joined the Colonial Fleet as a means to pay for dental school (Fragged). According to RDM's blog, Cally's term of required service ended at the same time that Galactica was to be decomissioned, and she was about to be honorably discharged and return to civillian life when the Cylons attacked, ending those plans.

Biographical Notes
Cally was part of the Galactica team sent to the Astral Queen in order to enlist the help of convicts in ice mining operations. (Bastille Day) Taken captive by the revolting crew, she was nearly raped by prisoner Mason, who shot her after she bit his ear off in defense. After being retrived from the Queen, she was sent to sickbay where she was given the nickname "Specialist Lazy".

Eventually, Cally returned to duty aboard the Galactica where she was selected to join a Raptor Scout team bound for Kobol. (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I) Her Raptor was attacked upon emerging from an FTL jump, resulting in a crash on Kobol. As one of the few that was relatively unhurt, she was charged with caring for the injured crewmen. Cally later had to go back to the crash site with Chief Tyrol and Tarn, and barely made it back alive with a medkit for Socinus. (Scattered) However, it was too late to save him. Cally was greatly saddened when Socinus died (Valley of Darkness).

Cally seems as prone to anger after a terrible event as Chief Tyrol, but unlike him, she tends to take direct action as a result, rather than becoming immobile or overly irrational.

While stranded, Lt. Crashdown attempted to lead a hopeless attack on a superior Cylon anti-aircraft emplacement, and gave Cally the assuredly suicidal order to draw the Centurions' fire. Cally was so terrified at carrying out the impossible order that she froze in place instead of advancing. Crashdown pointed a gun at her head, completely losing control and threatening to shoot her if she did not obey. Just before Crashdown was going to shoot Cally, Dr. Baltar shot him. The group then fought a running battle with the Centurions to reach and destroy the Dradis dish supporting the Cylon gun emplacements. Seelix was shot, but Cally saved her life by carrying her further ahead. A rescue team of Raptors then arrived, and Cally returned to Galactica with the survivors, who said that Crashdown had died charging the Cylons (Fragged).

Cally's anger transferred to Baltar when Tyrol was arrested, and threatened to reveal Baltar's part in Crashdown's death if Baltar did not act to clear Tyrol's name. Cally later shot and killed the Galactica copy of Sharon Valerii, because she was outraged that Chief Tyrol had been thrown in the brig and was wrongly suspected of being a Cylon because of her (Resistance). Cally was then imprisoned in the brig. At Tyrol's request, Commander Adama gave her a lenient sentence of 30 days for "discharging a firearm without permission" ("The Farm"). (Apparently, the Galactica crew did not consider killing a Cylon murder.)

After her 30 day sentence was finished, Cally was released from the brig, and a welcome back party was thrown for her on the hangar deck by the deck crew. Chief Tyrol was still upset with her for killing Galactica-Boomer, though Cally was grateful to the Chief for putting in a good word for her with Adama. She aided Tyrol in the construction of the Blackbird, and by the time they had finished he had reconciled with her ("Flight of the Phoenix"). Along with the rest of the crew Cally was jubilant when the long-thought destroyed Battlestar Pegasus found Galactica. However, she was disgusted when several drunken Pegasus crewmen bragged about repeatedly raping the copy of Number Six that they had captured (named Gina), probably because she herself had once survived an attempted rape. Chief Tyrol and Lt. Agathon were soon after arrested and taken aboard Pegasus for causing the death of Pegasus' Lt. Thorne. Cally pleaded with Commander Adama to do something when they were interrupted by news from Pegasus that Admiral Cain intended to execute Tyrol and Helo, and Cally and Adama hurried back to their action stations ("Pegasus").
Cally was so terrified at carrying out the impossible order that she froze in place instead of advancing. Crashdown pointed a gun to her head, completely losing control and threatening to shoot her if she did not obey.

(Apparently, the Galactica crew did not consider killing a Cylon as murder.)

After her 30 day sentence was finished, Cally was released from the brig, and a welcome back party was thrown for her on the hangar deck by the deck crew. Chief Tyrol was still upset with her for killing Galactica-Boomer, though Cally was greatful to the Chief for putting in a good word for her with Adama.
Biography
Background
Kara Thrace is a gifted pilot - and knows it. This has tended to give her an attitude that has at times thwarted her career advancement.

In an unhappy childhood, she was so frequently beaten by her mother that she came to accept pain as a way of life (Flesh and Bone). Her father was a pianist (Valley of Darkness), suggesting that her formerly broken finger bones on both hands had been intentionally broken by a parent using her father's piano (The Farm). Kara left home to join the military. On graduating from Colonial Flight School, she undertook a period of active duty before returning to flight school as an instructor.

It was in this role that she broke her cardinal rule of flying and fell in love with a young recruit, Zak Adama. Despite Zak's mediocre performance as a pilot, Thrace's love for him - and the fact that she could see emulating his father was so important to him - caused her to pass him on his final flight examination, even though he flunked 3 of the required manoeuvres (Act of Contrition).

Already engaged to Zak at the time she passed him for flight status, she was unable to marry him - Zak was killed during a routine mission shortly after graduating. At the time, Lee Adama, Zak's elder brother, blamed their father for Zak's death, and Kara did little to alter this idea. She did, however, meet William Adama shortly after the accident, and the two struck up a rapport - so much so that they stood together at Zak's funeral (Act of Contrition).

Following the funeral, Kara resigned from flight School as a instructor and transferred as an operational pilot aboard the Battlestar Galactica under the command of William Adama, where she served for some two years prior to the Cylon attack on the 12 Colonies. Before the Cylon attack, she was 2nd to the C.A.G. While she was temporarily in the brig for fighting with Colonel Tigh, the C.A.G. was killed in a Cyclon dogfight. Because of her incarceration, Apollo was given the position. Apparently, she approved of Apollo being assigned the leadership role.

During her time aboard the Galactica, Kara's flying skills proved her to be one of the best pilots in the fleet, but her attitude quickly ran her afoul of other senior officers on-board ship, notably Colonel Saul Tigh, the Galactica's Executive officer. Tigh and Thrace seemed to take an instant dislike to each other, perhaps each seeing a similar level of failure in the other: Tigh with his drinking problem, and Thrace with the knowledge that she caused Zak Adama's death. Their open mutual dislike of one another has lead to the point where blows were exchanged, with Thrace ending up in the brig (Mini-Series).

At the time of the Cylon attack she had an apartment in Delphi. It overlooked a parking lot and had a broken toilet. She was also a very avid painter, and her flat was cluttered with her paintings. (Valley of Darkness).

Post-Cylon Attack
Following the Cylon attack on the 12 colonies, Thrace is returned to flight status, where she quickly proves her worth as a remarkable pilot - right down to using her own Viper to rescue Lee Adama when his ship is disabled in a firefight (Mini-Series). This action brings her grudging respect from Colonel Tigh, but she is unable to accept his offer of the olive branch - an act that will have repercussions for her later.

After the Galactica suffers a drastic loss of water reserves due to an act of sabotage (Water), a hostage situation errupts on a prison transport ship, involving Lee Adama (Bastille Day). While Captain Adama is being held hostage, Lt. Thrace serves as interim CAG in the briefing room. Her behavior as acting CAG is criticized by Tigh. This scene also includes Boxey once again following Kara around indicating that Lt.Thrace might be serving in a role-model capacity for him. During Bastille Day Kara also aides in putting together a rescue mission, in which she surprisingly gets the backing of Tigh himself and the acknowledgement that she is the best sharpshooter in the fleet. Following the successful mission, she tries to build a bridge between herself and the XO, only to have her overtures rejected.

Having partially admitted her role in Zak Adama's death to Lee Adama (Mini-Series), Kara is forced to confront her past head-on when a freak accident on the Galactica's hanger deck kills seven of her pilots and puts a further 13 in the sickbay. Charged with finding and training new pilots - or nuggets in the Colonial slang - Thrace has to face up to past mistakes, and eventually admit her secrets to William Adama himself, an act that brings their close friendship almost to breaking point (Act of Contrition).

Shortly after this, Kara engages a flight of Cylon Raiders while leading a training flight from Galactica, and is forced to eject from her critically-damaged Viper after it makes a forced entry into the atmosphere of a small moon (You Can't Go Home Again). The crash prompts a system-wide search for her, led by Adama and his son - both reacting to their own guilt at their reactions to her. While the search and rescue operations place the fleet at extreme risk, they nevertheless keep the fleet in the star system long enough for Thrace - nursing a damaged knee - to repair a downed Cylon Raider and get it flying again before using it to return to the Galactica - and provide Adama with vital intel on Cylon systems.

Taken off the active duty role as a result of her injured leg, Starbuck has seen her role become more desk-bound, helping to plan important missions (The Hand of God) and also undertake the interrogation of Cylon prisoners (Flesh and Bone). The tactcial planning role is not something she relishes, and she frequently shows resentment towards others for her condition (The Hand of God).

The interrogation of Leoben Conoy is a task that she does not particularly wish for, especially when the situation - a nuclear device allegedly hidden on one of the ships in the fleet - pushes her into some drastic acts to try and extract the information from him (Flesh and Bone).

Off-duty, Kara maintains her cock-sure personna by playing cards and gambling for money. Her devil-may-care attitude brings her to the attention of Doctor Gaius Baltar, whom she is initially intrigued by (Water), but whom she quickly comes to despise. However, the devil-may-care approach hides the fact that deep down, she is religious, and frequently turns to the Lords of Kobol - particularly Aphrodite and Artemis - in times of need (Mini-Series, Flesh and Bone) - even if it is sometimes half-joking (You Can't Go Home Again).

The Arrow of Apollo
Being the only qualified pilot to fly the Cylon Raider, Kara is assigned to plant a nuclear device on board a basestar in orbit around Kobol. Intending on this, she is called to a meeting with Laura Roslin, who convinces Kara to jump to Caprica and retrive the Arrow of Apollo. Disobeying orders, she jumps to Caprica (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I) and lands in Delphi. Upon recovering the mythological arrow, she fights a version of Number 6, defeating the Cylon -- who was mortally wounded after being impaled with a piece of jutting debris.

At the museum, she discovers Helo, whom she thought dead. She also discovers that Boomer is a Cylon and attempts to kill her, only to be thwarted by Helo -- who reveals to Starbuck that the "Caprica" Boomer is pregnant with his child, much to Kara's chagrin. (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II)

Sometime later, she and Helo fall in with the Caprica resistance movement. (Resistance) Kara is shot in a military action, waking up in a hospital on Caprica. Mysterious surgeries by a doctor named Simon lead her to suspect his motives. She discovers that Simon is a humano-Cylon agent, working with a copy of Number Six, and that the next day he is planning to extract her ovaries for use in the Cylon's attempts to study and create a hybrid Cylon/human embryo. Staggering and in pain, Kara later kills Simon and manages to escape to the front of the hospital, but not before clocking a Six copy into unconsciousness with a fire hydrant and destroying the local farm power supply, which kills Sue-Shaun and several other women in the facility. (The Farm) Another copy of Simon appears just as the Resistance attacks in order to free Kara. The second Simon is immediately killed by the resistance, but a squad of Centurions appears and pins the resistance down. Luckily, the Caprica Sharon Valerii swoops in with a stolen Cylon Heavy Raider, destroys the Centurions and flies the resistance team and Kara out of harm's way.

Kara promises to Anders that she'll return with a rescue mission for the remaining survivors, leaving him her dog tags as a promise and friendship token. Anders returns the Arrow of Apollo to Kara, which he hid on the resistance grounds for safekeeping.

Kara, Helo and the pregnant Valerii land on the Astral Queen in the Raider. Finding the Laura Roslin faction in orbit of Kobol, Kara is reunited with Lee. He kisses her impulsively, catching Kara by pleasant surprise, but a tense standoff follows when Apollo discovers that Valerii, a copy of the Cylon who he saw shoot his father, has returned with them. Roslin helps defuse the situation, and Kara delivers the Arrow of Apollo to the President.

Temporarily removed from the protocol of military discipline a few hours before their departure to Kobol's surface, Lee playfully teases Kara by stealing a pyramid ball she took from Caprica. Lee senses her depression about Caprica and tells her that he'd be happy to hear about any problems she had. He also let slip that he loved her, which brightened Kara's mood to the point where she teased him back about the gaffe.

The Pegasus
In a later time, Admiral Nelena Cain summarily assigns Thrace (and Lee Adama) to the Pegasus after digesting the reports of the Galacticas officers, which is a source of irritation for the recovered Commander William Adama.

Due to the comments she made regarding Captain Cole Taylor's plan to recon the unidentified Cylon ship tracking the Fleet, Taylor removed Thrace from the mission -- although Adama, secretly, told her to use the newly built Blackbird stealth craft to take recon photos of the Cylon Unknown. Adama believed that the stealth craft had a better chance of taking recon photos, due to its stealth abilities; like Thrace, he likely believed that Vipers and a Raptor wouldn't be an effective recon force. (Pegasus)

Notes
According to SkyOne, Thrace was born on Picon but raised all over the Twelve Colonies. Her mother was a Sergent Major in the Colonial Marines and a decorated veteran of the Cylon War. Her father was named Dreilide, and is described as a "frustrated" musician.

Here is SkyOne's summary of Thrace:

:Starbuck is Commander Adama's best pilot, as well as flight partner and closest comrade to Apollo, Adama's estranged son.

:Kara Thrace was born on the Picon Colony, but raised all over the 12 Colonies. Her childhood was spent bouncing from one military outpost to another. Her mother was a sergeant major in the Colonial Marines, and a decorated veteran of the Cylon war. Her father, Dreilide, was a frustrated musician.

:Kara was a tough minded-child who dreamed of playing Pyramid in the big leagues someday. her mother wanted her to pursue a career in the military...Kara did not want this, so signed up to the academy to pursue her love of sports.

:Her future as a sports star ended when she was seriously injured, shattering her right knee. Most surgeons felt her knee would never be the same. Depressed, Kara applied to various post-graduate posts, but doubted she would be accepted. To her surprise, she scored the highest academic record for a flight-training exam. Kara soon discovered a love of flying.

:She would be a pilot for life - unless she got kicked out first, as Kara hated taking orders and military protocol. If that wasn't enough, Kara drank and gambled too much. While her academic and personal life was not first class, it couldn't be disputed that she was destined to fly.

:Kara served her first tour aboard the Battlestar Triton, but she was not admired by all, and soon found herself shipped back to where she started.

:This is where she met Zak Adama, and fell in love. Tragedy struck when Zak failed a key flight test and his plane crashed. Kara was devestated. She then spent two years on the Galactica - concentrating on her flying.

As this information has not appeared on the Scifi.com series website or on screen, it has yet to be confirmed.
Specialist Cally is a deckhand aboard Battlestar Galactica assigned to Chief Galen Tyrol. At the time of the Cylon Attack on the Colonies, she was attached to Deck Crew 5, and was responsible for Viper and Raptor maintenance. (Mini-Series) She is particularly adept at finding ways around the lack of replacement parts aboard Galactica, seen in her jury-rigging of several Vipers and Raptors. Cally only joined the Colonial Fleet as a means to pay for dental school. (Fragged)

Cally was greatly saddened when Socinus died. (Valley of Darkness)

Cally seems as prone to anger after a terrible event as Chief Tyrol, but unlike him, she tends to take direct action as a result, rather than becoming immobile or overly irrational.

While stranded, Lt. Crashdown attempted to lead a hopeless attack on a superior Cylon anti-aircraft emplacement, and gave Cally the assuredly suicidal order to draw off the Centurion's fire. Cally was so terrified at carrying out the impossible order that she froze in place instead of advancing. Crashdown pointed a gun to her head, completely losing control and threatening to shoot her if she did not obey. Just before Crashdown was going to shoot Cally, Dr. Baltar shot him. The group then fought a running battle with the Centurions to reach and destroy the Dradis dish supporting the Cylon gun emplacements. Selix was shot, but Cally saved her life by carrying her further ahead. A rescue team of Raptors then arrived, and Cally returned to Galactica with the survivors, who said that Crashdown had died charging the Cylons. (Fragged)

Cally's anger transferred to Baltar when Tyrol was arrested, and threatened to reveal Baltar's part in Crashdown's death if Baltar did not act to clear Tyrol's name. Cally later shot and killed the Galactica copy of Sharon Valerii, because she was outraged that Chief Tyrol had been thrown in the brig and was wrongly suspected of being a Cylon because of her. (Resistance)
Biographical Notes
Background
Lee Adama is the eldest son of Caroline and William Adama. Together with his younger Brother, Zak, he was raised largely by his mother on Caprica, following his parents' divorce when he was eight.

Despite his father's estrangement from the family, Lee nevertheless inherited his passion for flying - a passion that saw him enrolling in the Colonial military after graduating from college. Following his basic training, he graduated from military academy third in his class and immediately applied for flight school.

Not to be outdone by his elder brother, Zak Adama applied for military service, a move that eventually brought tragedy to the Adama household.

Accepted into flight school, Lee proved himself a gifted and natural pilot, hampered only by his his tendency to over-intellectualise things - a result of his upbringing with his mother, who encouraged him to read widely, and think freely (encouragement that lead him to read banned texts by the renegade Tom Zarek while at college (Bastille Day)).

Graduating from flight school, Lee was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Colonial Forces, flying the Viper Mark VII. During this time, he was also introduced to Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, a training instructor at flight school, who was also involved with Zak Adama. While Lee was still at flight school, the three frequently spent time together, and Lee and Starbuck developed a friendship through Zak Adama (Mini-Series).

Brother's Death
Tragedy struck some two years prior to the renewed Cylon attack on the 12 colonies when Zak Adama, recently graduated from flight school was killed on a routine Viper mission. At the time, the cause of the accident was put down to pilot error. However, Lee Adama chose to blame the mishap on his father, whom he believed had pushed Zak into applying for military service and for applying for flight school (Mini-Series).

Following Zak's death, Lee Adama became estranged from his father, seeking to build his career well away from any influence exerted by either William Adama or the legendary Battlestar Galactica, his father's command. While he was successful in this - gaining promotion to Captain through his own abilities, the decision nevertheless placed a heavy strain on his friendship with Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, as she applied for pilot duty aboard the Galactica.

However, Lee was to be reunited with both his father and Kara Thrace when it was decided the Galactica should be decommissioned and handed over to civil authorities as a living museum and educational centre. As a part of the final ceremonies marking Galactica's retirement, Lee Adama was ordered to participate in a final Viper flyby to salute both the ship and her commanding officer - an assignment he undertook grudingly, doing little to hide his true feelings from the moment he arrived on the ship (Mini-Series). Matters were not helped when he discovered he'd be making the flyby not in his own Viper, as he had expected, but in the newly-restored Mark II Viper his father had flown during the Cylon War (Mini-Series).

Things were worsened after the PR official aboard the Galactica, Aaron Doral, saw Lee's presence on Galactica as a major PR opportunity and had the two men pose for pictures together. Immediately following this Lee pushed for a confrontation with his father over Zak's death, during which he gave vent to two years' worth of anger, clearly expressing his belief that William Adama was responsible for the loss of his brother.

Surprise Cylon Attack
Following the decommissioning ceremony, Lee Adama departed the Galactica, acting as a unofficial escort for Colonial Heavy 798, the official transport for Education Minister Laura Roslin, who had represented President Adar at the ceremony. Mid-way through their return to Caprica, Lee and the crew of Colonial Heavy 798 heard of the Cylon attacks on the Twelve Colonies, and shortly thereafter came under direct attack. While Lee was able to thwart the attack, his Viper was nevertheless damaged, and had to be brought aboard Colonial Heavy 798, where he became one of the unofficial advisors to Laura Roslin aiding her in her self-appointed rescue mission. Lee's thoughts about his father's old Viper come back to haunt him when Boomer notes to him that other Vipers like his Mark VII were easily destroyed.

Following his disobedience of a direct order from his father instructing Lee to take command of the government ship and break-off from rescue missions, he again saves the ship using Galactica's EMP coils onboard - while simultaneously making it look like the ship had been destroyed. He then supports Roslin in her rescue efforts until it becomes clear that all stranded vessels - particularly those without FTL drives - cannot be rescued in the wake of an upcoming Cylon attack. Lee pursuades her to head for the Ragnar Anchorage and rendezvous with the Galactica - even though it means leaving thousands to their deaths at the hands of the Cylons.

On being reunited with the Galactica, Lee learns that her CAG, Captain Jackson Spencer has been killed in action, together with the members of Galactica's last fully-operational squadron of Mark VII fighters. As the ranking pilot aboard, and despite his relative inexperience, he finds himself promoted to the position of CAG. This promotion doesn't initially sit easy with him, given the guilt separating him from his father, and is in stark contrast to Spencer's leadership - something that annoys Starbuck (33). Nevertheless, Starbuck is happy to see that Lee was not killed as reported earlier to her. This reuniting of friends is the first of several frequently awkward moments of conversation between Kara and Lee.

Lee leads a Viper squadron in keeping Cylon Raiders at bay while the civilian fleet jumps away from Ragnar Anchorage. His ship is badly damaged midway in the battle and Lee is almost killed by a missile were it not for the lightning-fast and highly-accurate shooting of Kara, who guards him while also adding more kills to her record. When Galactica is minutes away from leaving, his Viper's power fails, which would have left him stranded at the mercy of the Cylons were it not again for Kara's highly unconventional flying. She force-fits the two Vipers nose-to-nose and flies Lee back to the ship seconds before the port flight pod closes and Galactica jumps away.

Special Advisor
Lee Adama's position is further complicated when, after assisting President Laura Roslin in matters of porotocol and other issues (Water), Lee finds himself attached to Roslin as a "special advisor" to further help her understand matters of military protocol. In particular, this does not sit well with his father (Bastille Day).

The situation is further exacerbated during a hostage crisis involving convicts being transported aboard the the Astral Queen. While the situation is resolved with only one loss of life, it is done so through an arrangement reached between Lee and the leader of the convicts, one Tom Zarek. While the solution is sensible, it is not to the liking of either William Adama or Laura Roslin.

In the weeks following the Cylon attack, Lee has had time to re-evaluate his relationship with his father - due in no small part to Starbuck's admmission of her involvement in Zak's acceptance as a fighter pilot (Mini-Series), and they have grown somewhat closer - even standing shoulder-to-shoulder following Starbuck going MIA (You Can't Go Home Again). Even so, Lee's former self-doubts and moodiness are not easily overcome, and sometimes come back to haunt him (The Hand of God).

During this time, Lee has also matured enormously, emerging from his shell as a somewhat disillusioned officer, unsure of himself despite his seniority, into a practical leader, who can now comfortably straddle his responsibilities and an officer in the Colonial fleet with his duties as advisor to Roslin, without undue clashes with either her or his father. This has been particularly-well demonstrated in his handling of security arrangements for the initial meeting of Roslin's Quorum of Twelve aboard the luxury liner Cloud Nine (Colonial Day). Lee was also able to escape a bit from Starbuck's piloting shadow and proved himself capable in unconventional and skilled flying in the Battle for the Tylium Asteroid (The Hand of God).

Unfortunately, his sincere belief in the need for democratic representation and civil government brought him in direct conflict with orders given him by his father. During the arrest of Laura Roslin following her actions in interfering with military operations, Lee draws his gun on Colonel Tigh in a direct act of mutiny. Arrested alongside of Roslin, Lee is unable to prevent his father being shot by Lieutenant Valerii (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II).

Lee is temporarily furloughed by Colonel Tigh so that he can continue his CAG responsibilities. Shortly afterward he leads a team of marines to stop Cylon boarders from reaching Aft Damage Control, saving the ship (Valley of Darkness). After that, he leads a SAR (Search and Rescue) mission with two Raptors to retrieve the stranded Colonials back on the surface of Kobol (Fragged).

Lee's desire to let democracy work without overt military action came to a head once more as he plotted with a handful of others in freeing Roslin and smuggling her away from Galactica (The Farm). Before he left, he apologized to the unconscious Commander Adama at his bedside for what he was about to do: Leave with Roslin and a faction of ships to search for data on Earth on Kobol. Adama began to awaken just as Lee left his side.

On the Astral Queen, Lee was very happy to see that Kara had returned safely from Caprica with the Arrow of Apollo and hugged her. In fact, he was so happy that he also impulsively kissed her, pleasantly surprising Kara (Home). Moments later, as the Caprica copy of Sharon Valerii entered, Lee instantly grabbed the known humano-Cylon in anger and would have killed her if Helo and Roslin did not intervene.

Later, with their military protocols and attitudes relaxed, Lee playfully teases the brooding Kara by stealing a pyramid ball she took as a keepsake from her time with Anders on Caprica. He returns the ball after sensing her mood and tells her that he would be happy to listen to what was on her mind. In the same conversation, he lets it slip out that he loves Kara. Amused, Kara cheers up a bit and teases Lee, telling him that there are no take-backs on what he said.

Lee and Kara join the others on their quest to find the Tomb of Athena. They are ambushed by Cylon Warriors along an ancient trail. Lee and Kara worked well together in the fight, complementing each other for their fine shots. Lee takes off after what appears to be an escaping Valerii, with Kara calling Lee back in vain. Valerii reaches a grenade launcher and aims it in the direction of Lee, who thinks his time is up. Valerii destroys the last Warrior instead, and then drops the weapon. "You gotta be fracking kidding me," was all that Lee could say about the incident with Valerii, unable to believe that he could trust the humano-Cylon.
Other Background Information (Possibly Non-Canon)
*From RDM's blog, in response to a fan's question:

<blockquote>In my first draft of the mini, Lee Adama had just been accepted into test pilot school on Caprica and was not currently assigned to any battlestar. Presumably, he had been posted to at least a couple of battlestar air groups in his career, as well as several ground assignments as well. This isn't canon yet, however, and I'm currently thinking of changing some elements of his specific backstory as I work on storylines for Season Two. Overall, I'd say Lee was striving (perhaps too hard) to blaze a different path for himself in the fleet from that of his father. I don't think Lee ever saw himself as a battlestar commander and was looking for a different way to make his mark.</blockquote>
*According to Jamie Bamber, Lee's official character biography states that “Lee is never so happy as when he’s in his kitchen cooking.”

While the situation is resolved with only one loss of life, it is do so through an arrangement rached between Lee and the leader of the convicts, one Tom Zarek.

Dawn: /* No spoilers except for episode pages */

I hate the spoiler policy. I don't want to be spoiled. I won't be using or contributing to the site significantly until after the end of the season and before you start spoiling season 3.

Character summaries in particular should be free of spoilers like "died in tbe episode Scattered," (before it aired), especially when the character doesn't die in Scattered after all when it finally airs.

Socinus lives!

-MHall

: I personally go by group consensus. If the consensus is that spoiler information is used, then that's the consensus; if it is vice-versa, then spoiler information isn't used (or packaged so as not to spoil the casual reader). As we're an information resource and episode guide, spoilers are a necessary evil. Some of the spoiler information changes from script to shooting, hence the inaccurate statement of Socinus' death in "Scattered"; it doesn't preclude him dying later on due to his injuries, so he may still die this season.

: For instance, I noted that details often change from the initial script to the final shooting. Permit me to use Boomer as an example: her being a human Cylon was never in the previous versions of the mini-series script, but changed -- indirectly -- after one of Ron Moore's friends made a quip about there not being a "By your command" line in the script. (That information came from the mini-series DVD commentary track.) -- Joe Beaudoin 09:41, 17 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Actually, I think that there is no way of making a spoiler-free version for everybody and making it work, too - because some country will always be the last to air the show, and by then, parts of the rest of the world will have forgotten about it already.

There is however one exception: There should really be no spoilers for shows that have not even aired, or at least not anywhere but that episode's summary. Otherwise, there is really no way one can enjoy this wiki and the show. (Happened for me with Home II.) I would even go as far as extending the no-spoilers for not-yet-aired shows for 24 hrs after the show, again, with the exception of the episodes's page. Because, let's fact it, lots of people will use P2P to see the show, because otherwise it would be years until they get to see it. (And if they are unlucky, they would have to see a synchronised version, too.) So the latter suggestion would enable them to look up things here while not having to wait for the show to arrive.

And one final thing: Spoiling from the scripts does not even make much sense - as the first poster on this page points out; and the audio comments imply the same. So my guess would be that spoiling not-yet aired shows will put off users from using this site, which is hardly a good thing, and it doesn't make much sense in the first place to do so, because the scripts will not air the way they were written, anyway. So I really would suggest a <u> No spoilers for unaired shows</u> policy. -- Still not king 12:32, 28 August 2005 (EDT)

::I agree. We gain very little by jumping the gun on upcoming episode spoilers - for example, I didn't need to know that spoileriffic note on the episode summary for Resurrection Ship at all. There's no reason not to be patient with these things. I do not agree, however, with a 24 hour injunction against posting episode details - we should be able to start wiki-ing as soon as it airs in our respective timezones. If we want to stay spoiler free on the west coast, we can always just not log on during the three hour window. Likewise, when the brits start getting Season 2, Part II before we do, we shouldn't force ourselves to wait for the U.S. airings. --Peter Farago 12:45, 28 August 2005 (EDT)

:::I was intentionally proposing just 24 hours - that is what it might take to get to see the show if you have to get it by P2P, and in the meantime, one might still want to check out something -- not the episode summary, of course, but a plain page about a character. It's a minor part of my proposal, though -- the important one is No spoilers of unaired shows. -- Still not king 20:13, 28 August 2005 (EDT)

::::I really like the idea of not posting regarding unaired shows. There's no way to avoid spoilers for shows that have aired already, but the show doesn't really exist until it's aired, in a way (insofar that it might be changed). I also really like the idea of a 24-hour wait period after the first (and thus, British, right?) air time. A day isn't that long, really, and I'm not sure about anyone else, but these episodes make my mind race and I'd probably be too excited if I went straight from the sofa to the computer after watching. --Day 14:35, 29 August 2005 (EDT)

:::::One of the nice things about the wiki system is that if you post something innacurate or overzealous, someone else can come along and tone it down a bit. I'm starting a vote. --Peter Farago 15:03, 29 August 2005 (EDT)

:This is rediculous. You come onto a site that has a quite obvious spoiler policy on the front fage, you go to read about upcoming episodes, and then you cry about being spoiled. Gee, obviously the best way to solve this is to stop people from posting new information. Kuralyov 08:51, 31 August 2005 (EDT)
Spoiler Warning
How about episode pages that have not been aired yet get a spoiler tag, so that people that can contribute to them knowing full well that they'll likely be spoiled? Same can be done with character and event pages, so that information introduced to them from episodes not yet aired can also be used on this Wiki without fear of spoiling those that do not wish it. Thoughts?-- Joe Beaudoin 09:39, 31 August 2005 (EDT)

:I'm afraid it wouldn't do me much good, since I read the diffs on everything on the recent edits page anyway. Maybe we could allow spoilers on episode summary pages but discourage them elsewhere? Avoiding the episode summaries isn't very hard. --Peter Farago 12:11, 31 August 2005 (EDT)

I found this problem with the Pegasus ep and related data. I wanted to keep the Fall of the Twelve Colonies page accurate with what we knew about surviving Battlestars, but this is still a spoiler, so the data there is left a bit vague unless someone digs for it. Still, a spoiler is a spoiler. The talk page would satisfy both spoiler-hunter and seeker on an episode article. We'd just need to add a "Spoiler" topic there, and note to people that if you are going to see an episode page for a show that hasn't aired, you are asking for it, literally. At least the talk page has an extra layer for avoiders to have, but because of the nature of this wiki, eliminating spoilers takes away a lot of the research fun. Data's gotta go somewhere and we can't commit the juicy bits for the main page to memory until the ep is aired. Spencerian 12:40, 31 August 2005 (EDT)

::This is going to be awkward, but I feel like we should add this as an option in the vote. Also adding a note on approval voting. --Peter Farago 12:53, 31 August 2005 (EDT)

:::I dislike the thought of having to move massive amounts of text. So far, I've been avoiding pages to do with unaired episodes. That's easy enough. My main concern is someone clicking through and wondering, "Who the heck is Gina?", thinking it's some pilot who's name they missed or some small character. Then they read about an episode they didn't want to. Or, in another case, someone reading all about Lee and the information going on, at the end, past the most recent episode. I think keeping character pages clear is the better idea. --Day 17:01, 1 September 2005 (EDT)

Subpage?
How about comitting spoilers to a subpage of an article? For instance, Pegasus (episode) would have a subpage called Pegasus (episode)/Spoilers? I believe that would be fairly straight forward, given the title of the subpage. :-)

Then, after the episode airs, we can simply merge the contents together from the spoiler page into the main page of the article in question. Just my view. -- Joe Beaudoin 12:48, 31 August 2005 (EDT)

:This sounds like a lot of work. I actually agree with Spencerian that anyone who clicks on the episode page for an unaired episode is explicitly asking for it. Additionally, those are easy edits to avoid reading. I'm going to go and complicate things now... --Peter Farago 12:53, 31 August 2005 (EDT)
What is a spoiler?
In response to Day's query below ("So what constitutes a spoiler for this new voting catagory?"): I believe a spoiler is anything from an as-yet-unaired show. Examples: Lucy Lawless's character, Cain, Gina, etc. I think the revelation about Boomer is fair game, as that was the end of the Mini-Series. It's hard to escape that fact when most press articles now refer to her as a Cylon. For the purposes of my argument and vote, a "spoiler" is any information that has not yet been broadcast. Is that a fair assessment? -- ryq 16:40, 1 September 2005 (EDT)

Dawn: /* No spoilers until after first episode airdate */

How about episode pages that have not been aired yet get a spoiler tag, so that people that can contribute to them knowing full well that they'll likely be spoiled?

:: It does, but my intent was to just throw this out there to see what everyone else thought. -- Joe Beaudoin 13:01, 31 August 2005 (EDT)

:::See my note above for my thoughts on having to merge things. --Day 17:01, 1 September 2005 (EDT)

:I concur with this definition. I just thought it would pay to be absolutely clear. --Day 16:56, 1 September 2005 (EDT)
Vote
Vote for as many options as you agree with. Voting method is approval voting - place your name under every policy which would be acceptable to you; the policy acceptable to the most users wins.

Spoilers in this vote refer to details of unaired episodes. As an encyclopedia, cataloging information from already aired episodes is what we do, and is not in question.
Does this mean in the Mini-Series episode article, we have to take out the revelation about Boomer's heritage and move it to the talk page? Or does this new thing mean that information about unaired episodes goes on their talk pages until they've aired (or 24 hours after) when we can then move it to the main page? This new thing confuses me, which I think is apparent.)
