Any ideas on how to improve this further? Hiding the table of content would content would be nice, but I can't remember how that's done.

I can't think of any other prominent uses of the seal at the moment. I know it's on the ready room podium, but that's really just a version of ship's seal.

Making a DVD screencap of the CIC logo (from "33") would be nice to get rid of the SkyOne logo. Then that can be placed at the top of the article, so you don't need to scroll down to get a picture. I can do that tomorrow if no one else gets around to it. Also cool would be a better picture of ''Galactica''s hull seal, but the only good one I found is on the ZOIC schematics on ship's page. That would probably have to be a HD source though.

Personally, I think of the bird as a phoenix for some reason, but that's probably personal interpretation that doesn't belong here. --[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 16:47, 6 August 2007 (CDT)

== Egyptian symbolism ==

I'm not too familiar with the [[Original Series]]. Is there such a seal like this in the Original Series? If there is, then that can defiantly be another connection to Egyptian mythology and symbolism, such as the pryamid-shaped buildings in [[:Image:Capricaattack.jpg|Caprica]]... Just a thought. Okay, I'm trying to do this properly now.....:) Caprica 6 refers to herself several times as an angel or an angel of God. In the Eye of Jupiter podcast commentary (Thank the Gods to the person who transcribed it) there is this little tidbit of information: "I felt that they woul- because you, the audience, know there's no way they're giving them the Eye of Jupiter for Baltar, it's kind of a jerkoff to go out and come back, and that really the only reason that it existed was for Baltar to give this information to Gaeta. And we just decided that, you know what, Gaeta can discover this on his own. Which is a- ironically the way it was in the original story outline. Gaeta was going to discover that information on his own and tell Galactica about it. And somewhere in the drafting we decided that- to give- '''''we wanted to give Baltar something that made him be trying to be on the side of the angels, still.''''' He still doesn't see himself as a villain. He still doesn't see himself as completely part of the Cylon agenda."
The reason I point out this particular passage in the commentary, Is I believe that RDM has given away much more information than intended. what does he mean by the side of angels and if there is an "Angel side" is there a "Demon side or Fallen Angel side" as well??? Things that make you go hmmmmm..... Now you may be asking yourself why the bloody frak am I discussing this on the Colonial Seal page? Every time I look at the Colonial Seal, it looks more like a winged angel than a bird or a phoenix..... Just thought I would share my thoughts on this.

I am a huge fan of both Battlestar Galactica(TOS) and (RDM). Born in Chicago I am currently 34 years old and now reside in Kansas City, MO. I have a very curious and active imagination and particularly interested in science fiction and religion. I guess I am in the right place :)

I am sorry I misunderstood what the Think Tank was..... I am curious about the show and didn't know how to properly address the origin of the Cylon name. I had no idea there was a series called Caprica in development hell.... sounds like a very interesting show.... I hope it gets off of the ground...... I have numerous theories I attempted to weed through them to avoid submitting something that might be considered fan fiction.... I love this site!! I refer to it as a Galactica Encyclopedia...... My intent for submitting the Cylon/Hybrid theory was to share and contribute to the encyclopedia as I have learned so much from it.... I thought perhaps that if the theory sounded interesting enough, someone might do research into it more and possibly include it...... I guess there is a fine line between speculation and fan fiction....perhaps they are the same thing..... I truly hope I haven't upset anyone with the way in which I submitted these questions and theories.... Sharon Agathon-Boomer knows the sex of her baby before it is born. Two theories on how this is possible.
1. Cylon females have a symbiotic relationship with the baby while it is in the womb and thus know the sex before it is born.
2. Cylon females can only be impregnated by Human males, thus they can only produce female off-spring. The reverse is true for Human females impregnated
by Cylon males, meaning that a hybrid born of a human female will always be male.

The proposal should strive to answer some of the common questions, such as:

# What is the benefit of this proposal to the wiki? It may help in narrowing down suspected cylons....
# What is involved in implementing this idea? Research, and asking someone from the show.
# Who is going to do it? I can try to help
# Why should we do it at all? Adds to the information of Human-cylon hybrids such as Hera Agethon and Nicolas Tryol.
# How will we use the idea? as a possible identifier for suspected cylons. For example William Adama only has sons, he has mentioned several times how he has wanted a daughter like Starbuck or Kat. If this theory were true it might tip the scale that William Adama is a possible Cylon.
# Should the proposal pass, when will work start on this idea?
# Where will this idea be implemented? (e.g. Will it be on certain types of pages or the entire Wiki in general?)

Chroy of Caprica: Origin of CYLON name

—I'm new here, so I apologize in advance if I am submitting this incorrectly.

I propose to research the name of CYLON itself. If man created the cylons, then theoretically we gave them the name. Is it an acronym such as: CYbernetic Living Organisms Networked or CYLON? Or is it a partial anagram for Colony?

I have searched to no avail and was just curious if anyone knew. As far as my knowledge the examples I have used in the questions posed are entirely my own creation and I have exhausted my Google searches on the web for answers.

Thank-you in advance for any information provided and look forward to talking with you in the future....
