== Friday Air - Server Idea Fix ==

Ok... this is my idea. Three hours before the episode, we sysop protect this page. Once the episode is aired/finshed on it's first round 9pm to 10pm, we unlock it. What this will do is keep the server queries down on the server before the mad rush. Talking with steelviper about this, he suggested we have three sub-pages off the episode guide, Summary, Questions, and Anylsis for people to work on during the episode. This will keep the conflicts down and the server in tip top shape. Before we unlock the main episode page.... we as sysops (Mop boys) would transfer the information from these pages to the guide and then kill the subpages. We need a {{tl|currently airing}} template to help with the links, but it be a start to keeping the server smooth after an episode airs. --[[User:Shane|Shane]] ([[User_Talk:Shane|T]] - [[Special:Contributions/Shane|C]] - [[Special:Editcount/Shane|E]]) 11:31, 26 October 2006 (CDT)
:Part of me worries about locking users out, especially while the episode is airing. That might be confusing, and that's bound to be a peak time of contribution. On the other hand, if users can't access the page to begin with, then we're not in any better a position. If having subpages allows people to continue to contribute real-time with the episode, and with transclusions allowing the changes to be visible real-time, it might be a way to allow people the thrill of striking while the iron is hot without crushing the server. --[[User:Steelviper|Steelviper]] 11:36, 26 October 2006 (CDT)

== Clues ==
I didn't tape the episode, but maybe someone who did might be able to tell...what rank insignia was Lee wearing when he met his father? --[[User:Dallan007|Dallan007]] 02:37, 28 October 2006 (CDT)Dallan007
:It's obscured by a fold in Lee's uniform for a lot of the scene (he should really get on to his tailor about bringing in his uniform, since he's losing weight), but it '''looks''' like Commander rank insignia. It's definitely no less than Colonel (the circle in the centre is quite distinct). --[[User:Barry|Barry]] 05:48, 28 October 2006 (CDT)
::Yeah, I agree, it definitely appears to be a Commander's insignia. There's a distinct section ''behind'' the diamond with the colonial seal, ie the silver plate we see on the Commander pin. It'd help if someone has any relatively high-res caps, all I can get are 640x352 --[[User:Madbrood|Madbrood]] 09:48, 28 October 2006 (CDT)
== Resurrection ship reappears ==

Did anyone else notice that in at least one of the establishing shots of the Cylon fleet we see a resurrection ship, in addition to the basestars?

Also note the veritable swarms of raiders...

It looks like the Cylons have been busy cranking out new troops for a return to heavy battle. {{unsigned|Spidey3}}

::And since they have a new Resurrection Ship, coupled with the fact that the Cylons are again discriminating, for want of a better phrase, against humans... I'd say our rag-tag fleet has something to worry about ;) --[[User:Madbrood|Madbrood]] 09:50, 28 October 2006 (CDT)
:::I count 5 Basestars and 1 Resurrection ship. Quite a force. I bet Lee Adama will be wishing he didn't use the Pegasus to play bumper cars when he sees that fleet..... -- [[User:Barry|Barry]] 12:04, 28 October 2006 (CDT)

== Overview ==
:''[[The Circle]], a secret tribunal on ''[[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]]'', decides the fate of [[James Lyman|Jammer]] and other Colonials who aided the [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylons]] during the occupation of [[New Caprica]].

== Summary ==
=== On ''[[Galactica]]'' ===
* [[James Lyman]] (Jammer) is brought before [[The Circle]]. He is found guilty of treason, the punishment for which is death. Despite his pleas and an attempt to convince [[Galen Tyrol]] to spare him, for Lyman freed [[Cally Tyrol]] from the Cylon death squad ([[Precipice]]), The Circle carries out Lyman's punishment and ejects him from the ''Galactica'' by depressurizing the [[launch tubes|launch tube]] they lock him in.
* After Lyman's execution, Tyrol talks to his wife about how she escaped. While she claims to not have thought about the incident since, she tells him that she thinks one "[[New Caprica Police|of those goons]]" set her free.
* On ''[[Colonial One]]'', Laura Roslin talks with Tom Zarek and questions what he will do. Zarek plans to reconvene the Quorum of Twelve, put Roslin's name in for nomination to vice president and then step down, returning the presidency to her. She assumes that for this act he will want something in return, and all he asks is to not be left on the outside. To reward him for his actions on standing up to Gaius Baltar on New Caprica she promises him the Vice Presidency.
* Felix Gaeta enters the still damaged CIC to help with repairs to communication. Tigh sees him and vocally demands for him to leave since he was a collaborator. Helo annouces he's here on the Admiral's orders, but Tigh continues to protest loudly until Admiral Adama appears and takes him out of the room to talk to him about resting so he will be ready, something that Tigh thinks he doesn't need.
* The Circle reconvines and mentions they have a three day time limit to dole out justice and begins reviewing possible collaborators and voting on guilt or innocence of treason. Eventually they come to the file on Gaeta, with four of the members voting guilty, and Anders refusing to vote, due to a lack of hard evidence of him being guilty. Chief Tyrol refuses to vote if they do not have a sixth to even them out.
* In the mess hall Gaeta is treated as [[Wikipedia:Persona non grata|persona non grata]] and left to eat alone, until Kara Thrace comes to sit at his table and begins to talk to him, kindly at first, before verbally insulting him for not doing anything to help her or the insurgency. Gaeta counters by bringing up his status as the informant, mentioning the dog dish being flipped over as his signal to the resistance.
* Lee and Bill Adama are talking about the status of the fleet. Lee brings up the fact that over the past few days 13 people have mysteriously disappeared, after being confirmed as survivors of the Exodus.
* The Circle brings in Kara to be the replacement sixth vote of the jury. She looks at the file on Gaeta, and after seeing the death list votes guilty, leaving Chief Tyrol as the only hold out. Anders comes in and requests time to talk with his wife. The scene then splits between the other members of the circle trying to convince Tyrol that Gaeta is guilty and Anders trying to explain that this isn't justice. Kara rebuffs him saying that she feels like she has to hurt someone for what happened to her, and if he stays near her it will be him. The Chief eventually folds and votes guilty.
* Gaeta is captured and brought to a launch tube where he is informed of his conviction, told that this is an official trial under authority from the President of the Colonies, and that if he has anything to say to explain himself he should say it now. He replies that he has explained already and will not beg for his life. This seems to bring Kara to a point where she starts to abuse him, telling him to beg, while taunting him with the idea that he was an informant for the insurgency, and mentioning the [[Jake (New Caprica)|dog bowl]]. The Chief hears this, and uses the fact the Gaeta could not know about the signal unless he was the one leaving the dead drops to convince the other members of the Circle that Gaeta isn't guilty of treason, and was in fact the secret source in the Baltar Adminstration.
* Laura Roslin is re-inaugurated as the President of the Twelve Colonies, and issues a decree of amnesty against all alleged collaborators, after it is revealed that former President [[Tom Zarek]] authorized the trials and sentences conducted by the Circle, in an attempt to protect Roslin from having to deal with public trials which could destroy the unity of the fleet, by causing a witch hunt.
* Still outcast, Gaeta is reinstated in the Colonial Fleet. In the mess hall, Chief Tyrol sits with Gaeta. Both eat in silence as the other crew members are taken aback by the act.

===On a [[Basestar (RDM)|Basestar]]===
* Gaius seems to be on Colonial One sitting in a chair in front of Tigh, Roslin, and Admiral Adama as they talk about how there was little he could do with the situation he had on New Caprica and that he is forgiven with Chip Six appearing and saying they are being to lenient with him and talking about his betrayal of the human race and Admiral Adama actually seems to hear her. Laura Roslin begins to tell Gaius how much she wants him in a provactive manner and he relizes its a dream and wakes up as she kisses him. Baltar finds himself naked on a red couch inside an unrecognizable room. When a [[Centurion]] guard appears at the doorway, Baltar realizes that he has nowhere to go and finds that he only has a robe to wear. It is revealed that he is onboard a Cylon Basestar, one of several others that are guarding a new [[Resurrection Ship]].

* A Number Three comes to visit Baltar and tells him that he has been out for 3 days and offers him a bottle of pills. She then explains that his presence on the basestar has caused a conflict between seven of the models. With three voting for him to be allowed to remain, while three vote for him to be removed. The only model that hasn't come to a consensus are the Sixes.

* A Six, heavily implied to be Caprica Six, comes to visit Baltar and explains how much she gave up for him while he tries to convice her that she is more then just a Cylon and that she loves him. That she needs him before she walks out noting that after she is gone that he needs her too, and that he should have started with that.
* Will there be another organization in the Fleet that will continue where [[The Circle]] left off?
* What of [[Lee Adama]], [[Anastasia Dualla]] and other officers of ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]''? How will these redundacies be dealt with?
* Why is [[Charlie Connor]] aboard ''Galactica''? Outside of The Circle, what was his purpose on ''Galactica'', seeing as he is not a past crew member?
* Has [[Samuel Anders]] become a member of ''Galactica's'' crew, or is he only allowed onboard because of his relationship with Kara?
**The loss of some ships in the fleet during the Exodus has lead to overcrowding in some ships. Galactica is the largest ship in the fleet, so it would take a large amount of civilians (including Connor and Anders) who could not be housed in the rest of the fleet.
* Will any of The Circle's members or Zarek face charges, or will they be pardoned by Roslin's government for what they had done?
* Now that the Cylons seem to have accepted Gaius Baltar, at least begrudgingly, what will happen to him?
* What happened to those who were left behind on [[New Caprica]]?
* Why are the Tyrols being allowed to keep their baby with them aboard ''Galactica''?

== Analysis ==
*{{spoilli|Three's statement that three models are in favor of keeping Baltar around and three are against it, with Six's vote needed to break the stalement, may support statements made by Grace Park, Dean Stockwell, and Tricia Helfer in interviews that the seven Cylon agent models currently known to the audience (the "Significant Seven") have no knowlege of the others (the "Final Five").}}
* Lee mentioned that he lost "half a stone" refering to his weight. A stone is a unit of weight used mostly in the United Kingdom and Ireland that is equivalent to 14 pounds.
* ''Galactica's'' living spaces and hallways appear much more crowded than in the first two seasons, reflecting the expanded size of her crew.
* The exterior of ''Galactica'' is visibly damaged, from the [[Battle of New Caprica]].
* Cally is back on active duty.

== Notes ==
* This episode marks the resumption of the [[Survivor count]]. There has been a net loss of 8,115 people since the beginning of "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]".
**Survivor Count for this episode is 41,435.
* Laura Roslin resumes the Presidency in this episode.

== Noteworthy Dialogue ==
[[Lee Adama]]: I've got a date with a jump rope. Hey, I've lost half a stone.

[[William Adama]]: Keep jumpin'.
== Overview ==

== Summary ==
=== On ''[[Galactica]]'' ===
* [[James Lyman]] is brought before [[The Circle]].
* Laura Roslin on Colonial one talks with Tom Zarek and questions what he will do.

===On a [[Basestar (RDM)|Basestar]]===
* Gaius seems to be on Colonial One sitting in a chair in front of Tigh, Roslin, and Admeral Adama as they talk about how there was little he could do with the situation he had on New Caprica and that he is forgiven with Chip Six appearing and saying they are being to lenient with him and talking about his betrayal of the human race and Admiral Adama actually seems to hear her.

== Overview ==

== Summary ==
=== On ''[[Galactica]]'' ===
* [[James Lyman]] is brought before [[The Circle]].
* Laura Roslin on Colonial one talks with Tom Zarek and questions what he will do. Zarek plans to reconvene the Quorum of Twelve, put Roslin's name in for nomination to vice president and then step down returning the presidency to her. She assumes for this act he wants something, and all he asks is to not be left on the outside. To reward him for his actions on standing up to Gaius Baltar on New Caprica she promises him the Vice Presidency.
* Felix Gaeta enters the still damaged CIC to help with repairs to communication and Tigh sees him and vocally demands for him to leave since he was a collaborator.
Eventually they come to the file on Gaeta and four of the members voting for guilty and Anders refusing to vote on lack of actual hard evidence of him being guilty. Chief Tyrol refuses to vote if they do not have a sixth to even them out.
* In the mess hall Gaeta is treated as persona non grata and left to eat alone until Kara Thrace comes to sit at his table and begins to talk to him, kindly at first, before digging into him for not doing anything to help her or the insurgency. Gaeta counters by bringing up his status as the inside man, mentioning the dog dish being flipped over being his signal.
* Lee and Bill Adama are talking about the status and Lee brings up the fact that over the past few days 13 people have just disappeared after being confirmed as survivors of the Exodus.
* The Circle brings in Kara to be the replacement sixth vote of the jury and she looks at the file on Gaeta and after just seeing the list votes guilty leaving Chief Tyrol as the only hold out. Anders comes in and requests time to his wife. The scene then splits between the other members of the circle trying to convince Tyrol that Gaeta is guilty and Anders trying to explain that this isn't justice but Kara rebuffs him saying that she feels like she has to hurt someone for what happened to her and if he stays near her it will be him. The Chief eventually folds and votes guilty.
* Gaeta is captured and brought to a launch tube where he is informed of his conviction, told that this is an official trial under authority from the President of the Colonies, and that if he has anything to say to explain himself to say it now. He says he explained already and won't beg for his life. This seems to bring Kara to a point where she starts to abuse him telling him to beg while taunting him with the idea that he was an informer for the insurgency through the dog bowl signal. Something the Chief remembers and uses that fact to convince the other members of the Circle that Gaeta isn't guilty of treason and was the secret source in the Baltar Adminstration.
* Laura Roslin is re-inaugurated as the President of the Twelve Colonies, and issues a decree of amnesty against all alleged collaborators, after it is revealed that former President [[Tom Zarek]] authorized the trials and sentences conducted by the Circle in an attempt to protect Roslin from having to deal with public treason trials which could destroy the unity of the fleet through causing a witch hunt.
* Still outcast, Gaeta is reinstated in the Colonial Fleet. In the mess hall, Tyrol later dines with Gaeta after Roslin issues her decree. Both eat in silence as the other crew members are taken aback by the act.

===On a [[Basestar (RDM)|Basestar]]===

* Lee mentioned that he lost "half a stone" reffering to his weight.

Battlestar ''Pegasus'' makes its last appearance today. I think it will be used to ram a basestar or two to save ''Galactica'', which puts up a good fight but is getting outmatched.
:I'm hoping that it doesnt get destroyed, seeing as that would kill Lee Adama and far too many other people - if this happened, people would switch off. I'm predicting that it'll save the day at the last second. If you think about it, Lee Adama was ordered to stay behind with the fleet and continue the search for earth. I'm betting that he does the usual thing of going against orders, jumping back anyway at the last second and launches a nuke or two at a basestar.
== Is this a clue? ==

When Starbuck gets back to Galactica with the kid, and the supposed mother sees it, and latches on, she says either "Gods bless you" or "GOD bless you", and after watching it about 5 times on my TiVo, I'm leaning towards GOD, singular, and perhaps a clue that this lady is not who she claims. I mean, if that really is a hybrid, then it would be valuable enough to pull such a move just to get it out of Colonial hands.

Also, if it weren't for horrible interior design, I'd rather Galactica had been boned, and they all just moved into Pegasus and renamed it Galactia-A or something. If it weren't for the lame bridge, it'd be a much better ship.

: The assumption is reasonable -- however, I believe it is extremely likely that the woman is who she claims to be. Also, given the horrible success rate at Cylon farms, it is likely that Kacey was indeed a ruse to get Thrace to love Conoy. Once Conoy had Thrace's love, their love would lead to the next step. As for the "God" versus "Gods" thing.... also, it's been indicated that the Colonials have varying faiths, and some don't necessarily believe in the Sacred Scrolls, Pythia and all that jazz. Also, it wouldn't be ''Battlestar Galactica'' without ''Galactica''... -- [[User:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|Joe Beaudoin]] [[User talk:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|So say we all]] - [[Battlestar Wiki:Site support|Donate]] 00:01, 21 October 2006 (CDT)
== Galactica's atmospheric insertion ==

I haven't been able to double check but I'm pretty sure Helo read off their altitude as "900,000." Now IIRC, the Colonials use metric so that would be meters. In other words, they were 600 miles off the deck. So I'm pretty sure I misheard that.

But even factoring for editing and such, I'm pretty sure they took some dramatic lisence with the freefall time.

RDM said they were going to try to keep the physics real, and this is peanut stuff.

<math>s=v_{i}t+\frac{at^{2}}{2}</math>
<math>v_i=0</math> because theyare starting from rest, so freefall time given by <math>\sqrt{\frac{2s}{a}}=t</math>
Bodie Olmos appeared in the episode in the scene where Galactica dropped into the atmosphere. He mentioned a pilot called Red Wing. Anyone know the actor's name? Neither actor was listed in the credits for some reason.
== Isn't Tom Zarek vice-president? ==

If I recall correctly, Tom Zarek was elected as Baltar's vice-president. Now that Baltar has departed for parts unknown, wouldn't Zarek ascend to the presidency? How can Roslin legally lay claim to the presidency? Shouldn't Zarek be heading up to Colonial One? [[User:Spidey3|Spidey3]] 11:12, 24 October 2006 (CDT)

:Zarek said he resigned when the Cylons set up Baltar's puppet government. It would take a lawyer and a precise knowledge of Colonial law to determine if he still has a claim to the office --[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 11:19, 24 October 2006 (CDT)

::I think Zarek knew who was in charge at that exact moment. It's hard to challenge for leadership in the middle of a fight. It's hard to change the course of a ship in mid-stream. There's nothing to say that Zarek won't challenge for the presidency in later episodes, but at that exact moment, I think that the only thing he was thinking about was getting off the planet along with everybody else. And I do speculate that maybe he was thinking that he was on the wrong side of the coin over the whole Baltar election and maybe has a new-found fondness for Laura Roslin from the evidence of the firing squad and the evacuation. The man is pretty pragmatic at times. It will be interesting to see which way their relationship turns over the coming episodes.--[[User:Straycat0|Straycat0]] 17:32, 24 October 2006 (CDT)

:::There's also the matter of association. While Zarek can clearly show that he did not collaborate with the Cylons by way of his incarceration, it is very likely that Zarek (a man that plays the political game almost as well as Roslin) wants little to do with inheriting the administration of a despised president. Only Roslin, the past president, will stand an immediate chance to assume the interim role once more with support from the populace. Based on his behavior, it seems that Zarek, once Roslin's adversary, appears to accept Roslin far more than in the past, even with concern for her life. He may choose to be her vice president, and she might accept it. --[[User:Spencerian|Spencerian]] 20:55, 24 October 2006 (CDT)
==Quite the episode==
Y'know, I realized, this episode's tossed up a lot about the show. We started off with one half-crewed battlestar, then grew to two half-crewed battlestars, and now we're down to one fully-crewed battlestar. Plus, Ellen was killed, Starbuck's been through hell, and a good 3/4 of the fleet has gone through horrible events at the hands of the Cylons. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what our beloved RDM does with the series. --[[User:BklynBruzer|BklynBruzer]] 20:11, 24 October 2006 (CDT)
==Atmospheric Heating Effects==

Of course it looked cool, but I am not really sure why the underside of Galactica would have been superheated as it descended toward New Caprica City the way it was protrayed in the episode. Such superheating is not the result of free-falling through the atmosphere, but actually the result of friction with the atmosphere due to extreme velocity. Which is precisely why skydivers do not burn up after jumping out of an airplane but space craft deorbiting (traveling initially at about 5 miles per second coming from low Earth orbit as an example) do. Galactica jumped into the atmosphere over New Caprica City, it did not (strictly speaking) reenter the atmosphere. It is possible, of course, that any velocity Galactica had prior to jumping was imparted to or else retained by Galactica after the jump. However, one might be pardoned for supposing that any such velocity would have been along the ship's main bow-to-stern axis (though this is not necessarily true), and not stright along the free fall axis the ship was clearly heating up on (i.e., from dorsal-to-ventral axis). I would also point out that Galactica did not appear to be traveling at a sufficient speed in its fall to cause superheating, though of course this may be the subject of debate. Anyway, just a thought. The dramatic effect more than made up for any possible technical inaccuracy, and I agree woth those who think this is the best episode on the new series yet. --[[User:Felix Culpa|Felix Culpa]] 19:13, 25 October 2006 (CDT)

Battlestar ''Pegasus'' makes its last appearance today. I think it will be used to ram a basestar or two to save ''Galactica'', which puts up a good fight but is getting outmatched.
My prediction doesn't come from anything but from the gut, but it should be interesting if it comes true. --[[User:Spencerian|Spencerian]] 16:53, 20 October 2006 (CDT)
== Is this a clue? ==

== My Prediction ==

And it shouldn't be a big surprise, but I have to state it for the record:

Battlestar ''Pegasus'' makes its last appearance today. I think it will be used to ram a basestar or two to save ''Galactica'', which puts up a good fight but is getting outmatched.
My prediction doesn't come from anything but from the gut, but it should be interesting if it comes true. --[[User:Spencerian|Spencerian]] 16:53, 20 October 2006 (CDT)
== Is this a clue? ==

::Not to mention that you have to give Tyrol ''something'' to do on the flightline. Why, if he were on the ''Pegasus'', unable to go spastic about not holding the Vipers together with bubblegum and baling wire, and just could wish another one up from the manufacturing plants aboard the newer ship, who knows how many kids he and Cally might end up with by the time they get to Earth? ^_^--<font color="#4b0082">[[User:Mitsukai|み使い]]</font> <font color="#2f4f4f">''[[User_talk:Mitsukai|Mitsukai]]''</font> 01:05, 21 October 2006 (CDT)
== Summary ==

== Questions ==
*With Baltar seemingly missing at the conclusion of the episode, will his Vice President, Tom Zarek, become President? Or will...somehow...Roslin become President?
*How many humans died on New Caprica during the occupation and escape? Will it be in the thousands?
*With ''Pegasus'' destroyed, will Tyrol's fighter construction continue?
**Since Galactica now has Pegasus' ''Viper'' and ''Raptor'' compliment in addition to its own, will the starboard flight pod now be pressed back into service?
**What will become of Lee Adama? ''CAG'' of ''Galactica''?
*Will Tigh become a disagreeable drunk, as he was before Ellen Tigh first boarded ''Galactica''?
