Technobabble is language so full of technical terms or jargon and buzzwords that it is incomprehensible to those unfamiliar with the words being used. While what is said is clearly heard, what it means is not. To some it sounds like random technical words have been strung together in a syntatically correct and consistent but semantically meaningless way. It is often considered to be meaningless or irrelevant nonsense by those who hear it.

Authors and others who wish to convey a feeling of technical sophistication may write or talk in technobabble. They may use the jargon without considering what it actually means in order to give an impression that they know things that their readers or listeners do not. However, if the jargon is decoded it becomes apparent that the originator does not really understand what has been said or is deliberately being unclear. When used in this way, technobabble is considered pretentious and often unacceptable.

Dr. Baltar was accused by Col. Tigh of spouting off useless technobabble when attempting to bluff his way out of the apparent failure of the Cylon detector to detect Sharon Valerii. ("The Farm")

Humano-Cylon agent.

Simon pretends to be a doctor caring for Starbuck until she discovers that he is actually a Cylon. He tries to casually persuade her into bearing children but is unsuccessful. When his diplomatic efforts fail he begins to operate on her, first harvesting her eggs then on orders from Six, attempting to surgically remove her ovaries. He fails in his task when Starbuck realises he is a Cylon, kills him, and escapes from the "baby farm" he's running. Simon is the latest Humano-Cylon to be revealed, bringing the total number of known agents to 5 so far. He is also the first new model agent revealed since the Mini-Series.

Like Six, Simon's models seems to have different roles. Two types of Simons were seen during his debut in "The Farm": one was a doctor Simon and the other was a more well kempt Simon who wore a dark business suit. Both models were killed, the doctor model by Starbuck and the suit model by the resistance movement when they stormed the "farm" to liberate her.
