The '''Battle of the Resurrection Ship''' is ''Galactica's'' second offensive against the [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylons]]. Aided with a [[Pegasus (RDM)|second battlestar]], they attack the [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylon]] [[Resurrection Ship]] in the hopes of causing the Cylons to rethink their plans for chasing [[The Fleet (RDM)|the Fleet]].

== Background ==

When battlestar ''Pegasus'' reunites with the larger remnant of [[The Fleet (RDM)|humanity]] led by the battlestar ''Galactica'', its commanding officer, [[Helena Cain|Admiral Cain]] reveals that ''Pegasus'' had been tracking a Cylon fleet, and upon reviewing ''Galactica's'' logs surmises that this same Cylon fleet had been following ''Galactica'' and her [[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet]], possibly for months. Earlier long-range reconnaissance missions by ''Pegasus'' revealed that the Cylon fleet consisted of 2 basestars, roughly a dozen support ships, and one unidentifiable vessel, much larger than a [[Basestar (RDM)|basestar]], which the Cylon fleet appeared to be protecting. Admiral Cain and Commander [[William Adama]] realize the probable value of the ship to the Cylons, and begin planning an operation to pool their resources to attack the Cylon fleet.

[[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]] returns from an illicit recon mission to the Cylon fleet, using the [[Blackbird]] stealth fighter to take dramatically detailed photos of the unknown ship. The name of the ship, the [[Resurrection Ship]], is discovered by Dr. [[Gaius Baltar]] through the captive [[Cylon agent]], [[Gina]]. Thrace, Admiral Cain and Commander Adama determine that the Resurrection Ship was a safety net for the Cylons chasing the Fleet and [[Cylon agent|hiding within it]]. With this safety net removed, the Cylons would seriously reconsider pursuing the Fleet as closely. If a Cylon's body were to die without another body to store their transmitted consciousness, not only would the Cylons lose vital intelligence on Fleet operations, but the Cylon's consciousness would be permanently lost.

== Battle ==

New ''Pegasus'' [[CAG]] Captain Thrace taps [[The Hand of God (RDM)|once more]] into her unconventional military thinking in formulating an effective attack plan, which will draw the Cylons to the battlestars and a trap, rather than the other way around. In the plan, the Fleet, consisting only of ''Galactica'' and her original civilian ships, would congregate near a handful of ships that appeared to be managing mining operations. When the Cylons engaged, the Fleet would jump away, but a few civilian ships would pretend to have problems engaging their FTL drives and attempt to escape at sublight speeds, drawing the Raiders far away from their basestars. Just before the Raiders would close in, the remaining decoy civilian ships would jump away. Moments later, ''Galactica'' and ''Pegasus'' will jump to within firing range of both basestars and engage them head-on. Meanwhile, Lieutenant [[Lee Adama|Lee "Apollo" Adama]] uses the [[Blackbird]] to sneak up upon the Resurrection Ship to surgically destroy its [[FTL]] drive with a missile to prevent its escape, while the entire complement of fighters from both battlestars, led by Thrace, would pummel the Resurrection Ship and destroy it ([[Resurrection Ship, Part I]]).

The attack plan is successfully implemented with minimal losses on the Colonial side. Without their fighter complements and with no gun batteries of their own, the basestars are no match for the combined gun batteries of ''Galactica'' and ''Pegasus'', which tear through the basestars, destroying one and crippling (probably destroying) the other.

Moments after disabling the Resurrection Ship's FTL drive, the Blackbird collides with a downed [[Raptor]] after Adama's attack, destroying the fragile stealth fighter. Lee Adama manages to eject and, in the process, suffers a puncture in his [[flight suit]]. Apollo drifts freely in the middle of space, viewing the battle from a unique angle as he begins to succumb to [[Wikipedia:hypoxia|hypoxia]]. He is rescued by [[Margaret Edmondson|Racetrack]]'s [[SAR]] [[Raptor]] from ''Galactica''.

Shortly after the destruction of the Resurrection Ship and at least one basestar, the surviving Cylon forces jump away, marking a significant Colonial victory ([[Resurrection Ship, Part II]]).

==Strategic impact==

The strategic impact of the Battle of the Resurrection Ship marked the first time since the beginning of the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|Second Cylon War]] that multiple Colonial battlestars engaged multiple Cylon basestars in battle. The Fall of the Twelve Colonies had been less a battle and more a one-sided slaughter of the Colonials by the Cylons. The ensuing attempts by ''Galactica'' to beat off the Cylons chasing the civilian refugee fleet it was shepherding and ''Pegasus<nowiki>'</nowiki>'' hit-and-run guerrilla attacks on Cylon assets had never reached the level of decisively defeating a major Cylon fleet and forcing them from the battlefield (''Galactica<nowiki>'</nowiki>s'' previous [[Battle of Kobol (RDM)|destruction of a basestar]] was the result of sneaking a nuke inside through subterfuge, and not open combat).

Following this defeat to the Colonial Fleet, the Cylons lose the combat initiative they had maintained since their opening attack six months previously. After this battle, the Cylons became afraid to commit their forces to major strikes, and stop attacking the Fleet ''en masse''. While before, a single basestar would confidently Jump in and wade into ''Galactica'' and her air wing (as in the second half of the [[Battle of Kobol (RDM)|Battle of Kobol]]), the Cylons are aware that such an attack now would result in their ''permanent'' deaths, and for a time stop actively chasing the Fleet for months following the destruction of the Resurrection Ship. The entire Cylon strategy in the war changes. Instead of constantly trying to destroy the entire [[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet]] guarded by ''Galactica'' and ''Pegasus'', the Cylons focused on smaller, low-risk goals, achieved by hit-and-run attacks on targets of opportunity. For a full month, while the Colonials conduct mining operations in an asteroid belt, a squadron of Cylon Raiders, including the ace Raider nicknamed "[[Scar (Raider)|Scar]]," wreaks havoc on the Colonial's Viper squadrons using hit-and-run strikes. Even two months after the battle, in the [[Battle of the Binary Star System]], the Cylons resort to a trap and disproportionate numbers rather than trying to directly engage the Colonial Fleet as they had in the past ([[The Captain's Hand]]).

==Notes==
* The Battle of the Resurrection Ship has many similarities to the [[Wikipedia:Battle of Midway|Battle of Midway]]. In both, the strategic tide of the war changed with a decisive battle. At Midway, the Japanese fleet was caught off guard when the ''USS Yorktown'', which they had presumed was destroyed or crippled, appeared during the battle and increased the forces available to the Americans. In this battle, the Cylons were surprised by the appearance of ''Pegasus'', long presumed destroyed in the initial Cylon attack, appeared and doubled the forces available to the Colonials. Finally, Apollo's experience of ejecting in the middle of the battle and watching it unfold around him is based on the real life experience of Ensign [[Wikipedia:George Gay|George Gay]] during the Battle of Midway. George Gay's plane was shot down and he witnessed the entire battle while floating in the ocean.

'''Wireless''' is a term used to describe short- to medium-range electromagnetic communications from ship to ship, or ship to planet. The term is also used as a noun to describe the device used to pick up wireless broadcasts, such as a "shortwave wireless."

Wireless appears to work using frequencies available from a similar electromagnetic spectrum as used on the Earth we live on today. Shortwave transmissions exist in the Colonial wireless spectrum ([[Miniseries]]). With this similarity, wireless is limited in range based on other celestial bodies, antenna direction, nuclear and other man-made EM interference, distance (where the time to send or receive a message might be measured in minutes and not fractions of a second), and broadcast reception or transmission limits of the vehicles in communication. A [[Raptor]], for instance, may be able to hear transmissions from its mother ship, ''[[Galactica]]'', but may be too far away to return a reply as it may not have as strong a wireless transceiver than ''Galactica'' to push the message.

A passenger on ''[[Colonial Heavy 798]]'' picks up information from their shortwave wireless about the nuclear bombing of [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]] ([[Miniseries]]).

[[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|Sharon Valerii]] uses a [[communication drone]] to extend her Raptor's transmission range in principle after her ship leaves [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]] with several refugees during the [[Cylon Attack]] ([[Miniseries]]). The drone contains an automated distress call with its own wireless transmitter. She uses to the probe in hopes of transmitting her call for help outside of the Cylon fleet, which were jamming many Colonial communication channels.

Emergency wireless handsets are included with a [[Viper (RDM)|Viper]] pilot's emergency ejection survival kit. Unfortunately for [[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]], her handset is smashed on her parachute landing on a desolate moon, forcing her to seek [[Cylon Raider (RDM)|alternate means]] to return to the [[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet]] ([[You Can't Go Home Again]]).

I am still interested in the more pointed bit of my last comment. Which moves me down to the NEC logo and Microsoft mouse. Along those lines shouldn't Starbuck's Hummer, the Renault in "Resistance", the chicken pot pie, and how Caprica looks like a Canadian city also be listed? I am very interested in where we draw the line on suspending disbelief vs "errors". [[User:Eghm|Eghm]] 21:07, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
:::::::::::Maybe Baltar's test only takes 11 hours to make a complete survey of the sample. It could've picked up Cylon stuff immediately in Boomer's sample (in other words, Baltar got lucky). --[[User:Talos|Talos]] 21:19, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
::::::::::::That wouldn't be surprising, considering how his luck runs. -- [[User:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|Joe Beaudoin]] <sup>[[User talk:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|So say we all]] - [[Battlestar Wiki:Site support|Donate]]</sup> 23:04, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
:::::::::::I wouldn't call Caprica looking like a certain Canadian city a "continuity error". Obviously, we may want to create a page called [[List of filming locations (RDM)]] for that, which would be a cool undertaking. In fact, I seem to recall some sites that do this. -- [[User:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|Joe Beaudoin]] [[User talk:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|So say we all]] - [[Battlestar Wiki:Site support|Donate]] 23:04, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
::::::::::::But you would call the other ones errors? [[User:Eghm|Eghm]] 23:16, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
:::::::::::::If they're blatantly obvious like the NEC logo or the Microsoft Mouse, yes. (Obviously, prop redressses wouldn't count.) Also, above this section, we're reopening the discussion in splitting this page off into two distinct entities: one for production errors and another for continuity errors, since they're different. We may want to do one for retconns as well, since they're continuity corrections, and not really errors. -- [[User:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|Joe Beaudoin]] [[User talk:Joe Beaudoin Jr.|So say we all]] - [[Battlestar Wiki:Site support|Donate]] 23:25, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
:::::::::::::: I don't see how the microsoft mouse (kudos to those that noticed it, BTW) is any more obvious than the hummer or renault, I've zoomed in on the image, and I can't make out the word microsoft, I just see a bit of white at the bottom. And I am not saying that I think that the hummer and renault should be included. What I am trying to say is I would really like to see is the wiki come up with a policy about these "errors" and personally I think that there should be some sort of "assume good faith" toward the writers in that policy. == Computer Equipment ==
Re-added some text that I had edited to save some space, but I believe that it makes a ''derived'' point. Give the amount of computer equipment show in the series, the production staff have usually been careful about generic-lizing it. Computers (and similiar technology) are very central to the series. However, for example, vehicles are not. --[[User:Gougef|FrankieG]] 12:17, 15 September 2006 (CDT)
Another point:
"Visual VFX gaffes" list a MkII launch sequence for "Scar". That's true for the aired version but it has been fixed on DVD! So this should probably be moved to "acknowledged errors"<br>
"Resurrection Ship II" is also listed, but I think they use both kinds of vipers there and we only see one launch. That's no error IMO. If you want to keep both episode entries, the clarifcation about the fix could be added under "VFX gaffes" --[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 14:24, 15 September 2006 (CDT)
Isn't the Pyramid entry in Retcon section incorrect? I don't remember them actually ever saying the card game was named Pyramid. --[[User:Gougef|FrankieG]] 18:14, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
:Yeah I can't recall that either. It`s an error compared to TOS maybe, but not withing TNS itself --[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 14:34, 15 September 2006 (CDT)
::Yeah, but that refers to TOS vs TNS. Not to the Miniseries vs Season 1. In the article it says that Pyramid was the poker game in the Mini. Maybe I'm wrong again, but I don't think that's the case -[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 15:07, 15 September 2006 (CDT)
:::I concur with Serenity; specifically, I think that although it is an error, it is not a continuity error. --[[User:CalculatinAvatar|CalculatinAvatar]]([[Special:Contributions/CalculatinAvatar|C]]-[[User talk:CalculatinAvatar|T]]) 13:02, 16 September 2006 (CDT)
::::Another argument: Right before Baltar's interview the TV person says "For those of you just joining us from the Pyramid game on Gemenon". While they also show Poker games on television these days, I'm sure that a ball game would be far more popular and more prime-time material. So the error was already there in the Miniseries.<br>But as said it's an error compared to TOS only. So if it's included at all that needs to be made clear. For now I removed it. --[[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 13:25, 16 September 2006 (CDT)

Helo's apparant use of the word "fuck":
Firstly, that episode is wrongly cited as being "Home, pt II", when in fact Roslin threatened to throw Sharon out of the airlock in "Home, pt I". Secondly, I have just watched that section a few times over, and it is quite clearly the word "frak" which Helo shouts, not "fuck". [[Image:F-16 Miniseries.JPG|thumb|F-16 in Miniseries]]
::It might not be exactly an error, per se. It is likely that the Colonials, despite their space craft, use air craft very much similar in form and function to airplanes (or fighter planes) from Earth. :::I'm not of a mind to second-guess the folks who made that mistake, but perhaps they thought it was a way of covering the fact (insofar as the show's current design goes) that the Colonials really have no atmospheric fighter capability, as Vipers don't do well at slow speeds. The suggestion that a "Colonial Python/Anaconda/Cobra/whatever" exists to fill that gap in the arsenal probably came up in the minds of someone to fix such a gaffe. Then again, it was, in likely truth, probably just done for the "filler/cool factor" reasoning.--<font color="#4b0082">[[User:Mitsukai|み使い]]</font> <font color="#2f4f4f">''[[User_talk:Mitsukai|Mitsukai]]''</font> 11:23, 9 October 2006 (CDT)

This is a listing of '''continuity errors''' in the [[Re-imagined Series]].

== Acknowledged Mistakes ==

*At the end of "'''''[[Home, Part II]]'''''", when everyone is looking at the map to [[Earth]] in the [[Tomb of Athena]], Lee points out the Lagoon Nebula in one of the constellations shown in the sky. Lee says, and the visual FX show the nebula located in Scorpio, but it is actually in the constellation Sagitarius. Ron Moore and David Eick acknowledge the error in their podcast commentary of the episode but no attempt is made to correct it.
*At the beginning of "'''''[[Downloaded]]'''''" two captions are shown: one states that the Cylon Attack in the Miniseries occurred nine months before the current episode (which is consistent with the other episodes in Season 2.5), while the second reads "10 weeks ago", and then shows [[Cally]] shooting [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|"Boomer" Valerii]] in the past episode, "'''''[[Resistance (episode)|Resistance]]'''''". However, it is impossible for this to have happened "10 weeks before 9 months after the attack": 9 months = 270 days. There is another plaque in the episode "'''''[[Epiphanies]]'''''" which clearly states on screen that that episode took place on Day 189. There are 70 days in 10 weeks. 70 days before Day 270 would be around Day 200; well after "Epiphanies", which was the ninth episode ''following'' "Resistance". In response to this serious error being brought to the forefront, the title card of the DVD and international television releases has been changed to "10 weeks later", meaning 10 weeks after [[Number Six|Number Six's]] rebirth.
*In "''''''[[Scar]]'''''" Starbuck and Kat fly [[Viper Mark VII]]s but the launch in the originally aired episode showed a [[Viper Mark II]]. This has been fixed in the DVD release which now includes a new, but somewhat shorter, launch sequence with the Mk VIIs.<br/> A few previous episodes like "'''''[[Resurrection Ship, Part II]]'''''" only use the Mk II sequence, but both types of Vipers are deployed by ''Galactica''.
*'''''[[Exodus, Part I]]''''': At the end of "[[Precipice]]" we see Cally clearly in the woods when the gunfire is going off. At the time we watch Tyrol and his group take aim at the [[Cylon Centurion]], Cally had not reached the wooded area by the time gunfire sounded. Further, when the gunfire begins in "[[Precipice]]", Tyrol is at the firing position, far from Cally, while in "[[Exodus, Part I]]" he is holding her to the ground when it begins.

== Retcons ==
*'''[[Season two timeline discontinuity]]''': All episodes before Season 2.5 (starting with "[[Resurrection Ship, Part I]]") seem to indicate that Season 2.5 begins 3-4 months after the Cylon attack. However, "Resurrection Ship, Part I" and all subsequent Season 2.5 episodes indicate that "Resurrection Ship, Part I" began 6 months after the Cylon attack. See the main article for more detailed analysis. There are 3 main points of discontinuity:
**[[Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy)|Caprica-Valerii]] is not visibly pregnant in "[[Pegasus (episode)|Pegasus]]", but by "[[Epiphanies]]", roughly 2-3 weeks later, she appears to be in her second trimester.
**The presidential elections in "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]" are said to take place 9 months after the attack, when throughout Season 1 it was consistently said to be 7 months after the Cylon attack.
**If all of the dates mentioned in each episode are counted up, "Pegasus" only occurs roughly three months post-attack, not six.
* '''[[The Fleet (RDM)|Fleet numbers]]''': In the [[Miniseries]], a total of 40 [[FTL]] ships (led by Roslin) rendezvous with ''Galactica'' at [[Ragnar Anchorage]]. This makes the count 41 ships, including ''Galactica''. However, this number was enlarged for the series. In "[[33]]," Dualla states: "Jump 237 underway... 53 ships have jumped, 10 still reporting trouble with their FTL drives, including Colonial One." In ''[[You Can't Go Home Again]]'', Colonel Tigh mentions the Cylons searching for "a sixty-odd ships". The count offered in "[[The Farm]]" was similar - 24 ships had left to join Roslin's fleet, which was "almost a third" of the fleet, putting the number at about 75.
*'''The ''[[Astral Queen]]''''': In the [[Miniseries]], [[Billy Keikeya]] stated to [[Laura Roslin]] that the captain had 500 prisoners in his cargo hold, and that the ''Queen'' was a cargo vessel transporting prisoners to a prison. In "[[Bastille Day]]", [[Billy Keikeya]]'s lines were re-dubbed: '''1,500''' prisoners were aboard the ''Queen'', that the ''Queen'' was a '''prison transport'''. [[Lee Adama]] would go on to later state that the ''Queen'' was en route to [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)#Caprica|Caprica]] during the [[Cylon attack]] for parole hearings.
*'''[[Cylon Detector]]''': In the episode "[[Flesh and Bone]]", it takes only minutes to identify [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|"Boomer" Valerii]] as a Cylon. However, in "[[Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down]]", he states that complete testing on one sample of blood takes 11 hours.
**This could be because a negative result takes 11 hours to confirm but a positive result potentially may be more instant. Most colonials, it would be reasonable to assume, would be negative.

== Danglers ==
*'''[[Caprica-Six|Caprica-Six]] Meeting''': In the [[Miniseries]], at the end of the scene where [[Number Six]] and [[Gaius Baltar]] walk through the park, Six says she has to meet someone. After Baltar walks away, she looks off-camera and says she had "been wondering when you'd get here." Cue a cut to ''Galatica''. Given that was the day of/before [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies|the attack]], it seems unreasonable that the meeting was not related to the Cylon plans. Whomever she met could be another Cylon model(s). This has not been revisited.
*'''[[Tom Zarek|Zarek]]-[[Ellen Tigh|Tigh]] Plotline''': In the episode "[[Colonial Day]]", it is heavily implied that [[Ellen Tigh]] revealed the location of [[Valance]] to agents of [[Tom Zarek]], and that she intends for her husband, Colonel [[Saul Tigh]], to meet with Zarek's people in the near future. As of the start of the third season, this plotline has not been revisited and probably will never be in light of Ellen's death in "[[Exodus, Part II]]".
*'''Zarek-[[Black Market]] Plotline''': Similarly, the end of "[[Black Market]]" implies that Zarek has assumed some measure of influence in that organization. This also has yet to be revisited.
*'''[[Demand Peace]]''': The pro-Cylon terrorist faction that sprung up in the fleet during "[[Epiphanies]]" has yet to resurface as well. The episode concluded without any firm resolution regarding the fate of the movement and its leader [[Royan Jahee]], however their base of operations, ''[[Cloud 9]]'', was destroyed by [[Gina]] in "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]". The plotline of "Epiphanies" implies that the group is gearing up for a full-scale campaign against [[William Adama|Admiral Adama]]'s military and [[Laura Roslin|President Roslin]]'s government, but they are never seen again the fates of the group's members is not discussed later on.

== Recasting ==
*'''[[Zak Adama]]''': In the [[Miniseries]], a different actor was pictured as Zak Adama. In "[[Act of Contrition]]", a new actor portrayed Zak, and the picture was changed to reflect the casting choice.
*'''[[Ellen Tigh]]''': Same with Zak Adama. The picture of Saul Tigh's wife, which Tigh had burned a hole through, was originally a picture of [[David Eick]]'s wife, Jennifer Berchfeild. When [[Kate Vernon]] was cast as Ellen in "[[Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down]]", the image was changed.
*'''[[Richard Adar]]''': In the miniseries, [[:md:Image:Bsg-baltar-adar.jpg|portrayed]] by [[David Eick]] in a photograph in Baltar's domicile on Caprica. When Adar appeared in person in "[[Epiphanies]]," the role was portrayed by [[Colm Feore]].
*'''[[Caroline Adama]]''' portrayed by an uncredited actress during a cameo in "[[Act of Contrition]]." She is portrayed by [[Lucinda Jenney]] in the episode "[[A Day in the Life]]".

== VFX Gaffes ==
[[Image:1104reverse Scattered.JPG|thumb|left|Mirrored shot of Viper 1104 ([[Scattered]]).]]
*'''''[[Miniseries]]''''': [[Viper 1104]] must be the most prolific Viper in existence. No less than three copies are present at the [[Battle of Ragnar Anchorage]]. Of these, one is crash landed by [[Kara Thrace|Lieutenant Thrace]], one destroyed by Cylon fire, and one successfully landed on [[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]].
*'''''[[Miniseries]]''''' and '''''[[33]]''''': As ''[[Galactica]]'' prepares to jump to [[Ragnar Anchorage]], the flight pods retract. As the ship jumps, the pods are not retracted. When ''Galactica'' has jumped to [[Ragnar Anchorage]] the pods are retracted again. This same footage was shown during the opening titles of ''33''.
*'''''[[33]]''''': As the Cylon Centurion approaches Helo from behind, you can see the rain hitting it, but it does not drip off the Warrior's body. In contrast, water is dripping from Helo's face in a fairly consistent and noticeable manner.
*'''''[[You Can't Go Home Again]]''''': Before searching for [[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]], [[Lee Adama]] climbs into a Viper Mk VII, although he is shown piloting a Mk II in all other VFX shots.
*'''''[[Season 1 (2004-05)|Amid Season 1]]''''': Half-way through season 1, the ''[[Colonial One]]'' CG model was updated and the seal of the President of the Colonies was added to the hull. However, the reuse of stock footage from the Miniseries and earlier in the first season cause the seal to continually disappear and reappear in the same episode depending on what shot is used.
*'''''[[Scattered]]''''': A shot of '''Viper 1104''' is mirrored accidentally.
*'''''[[Flight of the Phoenix]]''''':
**[[Viper (RDM)|Viper]] and Pilot numbers. 42 Vipers are deployed at a time when no more than 34 could have been serviceable, and with no more than 25 pilots available.
**[[Blackbird]]. As the [[Great Cylon Turkey Shoot]] begins, the [[Blackbird]] (still incomplete, unflown, and missing its composite skin by this point) can be seen swooping across the screen in a manner inconsistent with its flight characteristics; the ship was built for speed, not maneuverability. The ship also fires what appears to be autocannons, which is wholly incorrect, as the Blackbird is unarmed except in its [[Resurrection Ship, Part II|final mission]].
*'''''[[The Captain's Hand]]''''': As [[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]] leads [[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus']] [[Viper Mark VII|Viper Mk VIIs]] into combat, a cockpit shot of her mistakenly shows [[Viper Mark II|Viper Mk IIs]] around her ship.

==Prop and Equipment Errors==
[[Image:2276gaff Mini.JPG|thumb|Maj Spencer in Viper 2276 ([[Miniseries]]).]]
*[[Miniseries]]:
**An [[wikipedia:F-16 Fighting Falcon|F-16 Fighting Falcon]] is visible in a picture in Adama's quarters when he and Colonel Tigh discuss Starbuck striking Tigh. However, this could be a tribute, the F-16 is sometimes called "Viper" by its pilots.
**The Viper Mk. VII flown by Major Spencer during the first sortie ([[Miniseries]]) is still marked as "Viper 2276NC" which is the Viper flown by Captain Lee Adama to ''Galactica''.
**As [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|"Boomer" Valerii]] takes off from [[Caprica]] with the civilians in the [[Raptor]], just after [[Helo]] shoots the civilian who jumps on to the wing, the camera points to Boomer, where viewers can see in the window reflection the crane that is hoisting the [[Raptor]] mockup into the air.
**When Starbuck's Viper is hit during the second sortie ("I'm all right"), her helmet is unsealed and open.
**Similarly, Lee Adama's collar is opened when he scolds her for being "beyond insane" as Thrace pushing Adama's Viper into ''Galactica's'' [[flight pod]] at the end of the [[Battle of Ragnar Anchorage|last battle at Ragnar]].
*''[[33]]'':
**When [[Anastasia Dualla|Dualla]] admits that she lost the ''[[Olympic Carrier]]'', her headset changes sides during the conversation.
**As Helo fires upon the Cylon Centurion that survives the detonation of an anti-personnel mine (similar to a [[Wikipedia:Claymore mine|Claymore mine]]), the first time Helo fires the pistol, it is heard to fire, but there is no accompanying visual spark from the barrel. In contrast, the second shot is accompanied by both a spark and the appropriate sound.
**After the disappearance of the ''Olympic Carrier'' in Jump 238, with the timer running towards the 33 minute mark, the viewer can see that the clock is at 10 seconds. When focusing on Adama and Tigh, the viewer hears ten seconds counting off, but when the camera quick-pans to the overhead console, it reads that 3 seconds have passed.
**Before the clock reaches zero in the pre-title sequence, a wide shot of [[CIC]] is shown with Adama and Tigh standing at the central console. The timer on the screen above their heads is flashing 00:00:00.
*''[[Six Degrees of Separation]]'': The special-effects group for the Re-imagined Series appear dedicated to creating computer screens, equipment and interfaces that are familiar to viewers, but aren't full counterparts to real-world Earth materials. However, the logo for NEC computer manufacturers can be seen on the monitors while [[Felix Gaeta|Gaeta]] is working on the photograph. Another similiar occurrance happens in "Sacrifice."
*''[[Colonial Day]]'': During the bar fight scene, [[Valance]]'s gun is shown with a silencer attached as it falls out of his briefcase, but the silencer is not present for the rest of the scene. The silencer is back when [[Valance]] is interrogated by Starbuck and Lee.
*''[[Valley of Darkness]]'': [[Kat]] finds a box of explosive rounds with only 6 shells. The shells in the container start out scattered within the box, but as the camera cuts back and forth in the scene the shells switch from organized to scattered many times.
*''[[Scar]]'':
**The little model plane on top of the "Top Gun" mug sported by Starbuck and Kat is actually an [[wikipedia:F/A-18 Hornet|F/A-18 Hornet]].
**When getting intimate with Lee, the bandage on Kara's back moves from one side to the other.
*''[[Sacrifice]]'':
**When Starbuck is getting the handguns out of her case, she still has the environmental engineer's hat on. When she quickly turns around with the guns and starts firing, her hat has disappeared without explanation.
**A computer mouse (a design created by [[Wikipedia:Microsoft|Microsoft]]) is seen connected to [[Sesha Abinell]]'s laptop computer.
*''[[Exodus, Part II]]'': The [[DRADIS]] displays on ''Galactica'' and ''Pegasus'' are free of interference from the [[New Caprica]] nebula, even though it continued to be an obvious problem for both ships at the end of "[[Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II]]".
*''[[The Passage]]'': [[Raymond Lai|Raymond "Raygun" Lai]]'s name appears on ''Galactica''’s flight roster. His name previously appeared on one of the 40 year-old Viper Mk. IIs in the ''Galactica'' museum during the [[Miniseries]].

* In several episodes characters wear the wrong rank insignia:
** ''[[The Hand of God (RDM)|The Hand of God]]'': [[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]] wears "Lieutenant j.g." (short chevron) insignia most of the time.
** ''[[Fragged]]'': [[Cally]] is wearing Petty Officer, 2nd Class instead of Crewman Specialist insignia.
** ''[[Home, Part I]]'' and ''[[Home, Part II]]'': [[Lee Adama|Apollo]] wears Major instead of Captains insignia.
** ''[[Scar]]'':
*** In the first scene in the recreation room [[Kara Thrace|Starbuck]] wears Lieutenant insignia despite having been promoted to Captain.
*** Some of the [[nuggets]] have Lieutenant insignia despite being addressed as Ensigns. The prop department hasn't produced any Ensign insignia yet.
** ''[[The Captain's Hand]]'': [[Lee Adama|Apollo's]] insignia switch between Captain and Major a few times. Major is his correct rank at that time.
**''[[Hero]]'': In the flashback scenes in ''Valkyrie'''s CIC, Commander Adama is wearing an Admiral's insignia.

<div style="clear: both;"></div>

==Dialogue Errors==
*'''[[Miniseries]]''':
**Tigh inexplicably exclaims "Jesus!" when shown the photo of Adama, Zak and Lee. Ron Moore has stated that this was just an ad-lib by the actor, and was never in the script, and should have been removed during editing.
** At the start of the episode, dialogue is retained from a draft script which placed the [[The Twelve Colonies (RDM)|Twelve Colonies]] actually on [[Kobol]], rather than spread among twelve worlds. The giveaway lines are spoken by [[Aaron Doral]] (played by [[Matthew Bennett]]):
**:"Now, as I was saying, form follows function, and nowhere is this axiom of design more readily apparent than on the ''world'' famous Battlestar Galactica... now originally there were twelve battlestars, each representing one of ''Kobol's twelve colonies''..."
*: Given the show is set among 12 different worlds, and Kobol is now regarded as the birthplace of humanity, abandoned at some point in the distant past, Doral should have used the words "worlds' famous", and simply referred to the original battlestars representing each of the Twelve Colonies. Still, within context it is impossible for the casual viewer to tell this is from an earlier script draft: each of the 12 human-colonized planets is a "colony" of the mother-planet Kobol.
**The singular "world" was also used by Starbuck when confessing her role in Zak's accidental death to Lee Adama. Bear in mind that "world" is an inexact term, and need not be synonymous with "planet", it can mean "the known universe". "World" literally means "age or life of man".
**When being informed by [[Six]] of her true nature and mission, [[Gaius Baltar]] exclaims "Oh, my God!" as opposed to "Gods".
**[[Jackson Spencer]] also makes this mistake after the Cylon Raiders launch missiles at his disabled squadron.
**The pronunciation of Lt. [[Felix Gaeta|Gaeta]]'s name frequently shifts between ''GAY-ta'' and ''GUY-ta'' during the Miniseries. Col. Tigh regularly calls him GUY-ta while Adama vacillates between GAY-ta and GUY-ta. From "[[33]]"-onward he is referred to by everyone as GAY-ta.
**When Leoben and Adama discuss the nature of the Cylons while navigating their way through Ragnar Anchorage Adama argues that "God didn't create the Cylons, Man did."
* ''[[33]]'': Helo states his rank as "Lieutenant, junior grade" despite consistently wearing "Lieutenant, senior grade" rank insignia
* Later in the episode, when President Roslin and Dr. Baltar are discussing cutting off communications with the Olympic Carrier, Baltar uses the term "radio" instead of the correct in-universe term of "wireless" during the conversation.
*''[[Scattered]]'': During the scene on Caprica , Helo exclaims "for God Sakes" instead of the more Colonial "for Gods' Sakes" or Cylon "for God's Sake".
*''[[Downloaded]]'': In the [[Miniseries]], [[Sharon Valerii (Galactica copy)|Boomer]] claims that her parents died while she was very young. In "[[Downloaded]]" she explains that she received a gift from her mother when she left for the Fleet academy.

==Crew Visible==
[[Image:Gaffcrew klgpII.JPG|thumb|left|Crew member visible ([[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]])]]
*A member of the production crew, possibly a boom operator, is visible on screen in "[[Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II]]". He can be seen behind the damaged wall behind the display of the [[Arrow of Apollo]].

This is a listing of '''continuity errors''' in the [[Re-imagined Series]].

== Acknowledged Mistakes ==

== Retcons ==

== Danglers ==

== Recasting ==

== VFX Gaffes ==

==Prop and Equipment Errors==

==Dialogue Errors==
: Later in the episode, when President Roslin and Dr.

==Crew Visible==

== Acknowledged Mistakes ==

== Retcons ==

== Danglers ==

== Recasting ==

== VFX Gaffes ==

==Prop and Equipment Errors==

==Dialogue Errors==
: Later in the episode, when President Roslin and Dr.

==Crew Visible==
