The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike has resulted in the suspended production of the Re-imagined Series's fourth season, along with the majority of scripted US TV and film. The strike began on 5 November 2007, by which time 11 episodes (half) of Season 4 had been completed.

There is widespread support for the strike among cast, crew and fans. Show-runner Ron D. Moore's new blog keeps a track on various strike-related activities including the "Pencils2MediaMoguls" campaign.

A deal brokered in early February 2008 looks likely to be ratified by the WGA membership. Productions may resume as early as 13 February 2008[1]. E! Online has suggested, based on comments by writer Jane Espenson, that production on Battlestar Galactica will resume quite quickly, but the remaining episodes of Season 4 may not air until the autumn of 2008 or the start of 2009.
