Vergis Corporation

The Vergis Corporation is a technology company from Tauron, and a direct competitor with Graystone Industries. Its headquarters are located in Tauron City.

CEO Tomas Vergis, a computer engineer, designed the meta-cognitive processor (MCP), the advanced CPU stolen by Graystone and used in the original Cylon Prototype (CAP: Caprica pilot). Suspicions on the part of the Caprican military that the MCP was stolen, increasing doubts over Graystone's ability to meet its deadline for producing the prototype, and the violent escape of the U-87 lead to the military offering the Vergis Corporation the contract for producing Cylons (CAP: "End of Line"). Ultimately, Daniel Graystone's reinstatement as CEO of Graystone Industries with the help of the Ha'la'tha drives Vegis to kill himself, presumably dealing Vegis Corporation a major blow. As Graystone Industries now legally possesses both the U-87 and meta-cognitive processor technology, as well as the military U-87 contract, Vergis Corporation is presumably at a severe disadvantage to its competitor.
