:Not true. Or rather, that isn't necessarily the case. A flagship doesn't have the be the newest, biggest or most powerful vessel in a fleet. There are cases from WWII for example, where admirals had their flag on cruisers, because they were faster than battleships or carriers. As long as there are good command and control facilities on a ship it doesn't really matter how strong it is. -- [[User:Serenity|Serenity]] 17:38, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

:To add to Serenity's comments: The battlestar fleet was HUGE (120 ships, according to the miniseries). While we've seen three (or four) unique ship designs, there's no indication that there weren't more. ''Pegasus'', while advanced, may not have been the biggest or most advanced. The class of ''Atlantia'' and the many other named battlestars that were destroyed may be yet another bit of trivia that the writers will never answer, since it's not an important point to the series's storyline. -[[User:Spencerian|Spencerian]] 18:10, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Adama as XO?[edit]

Wasn't Adama the XO of the Columbia, not the Atlantia? --Madbrood 06:25, 4 December 2006 (CST)

Correct. He was a major aboard Atlantia. I just pulled that little blurb, as changing it to major would have made it make even less sense, and it really didn't have anything to back it up. --Steelviper 07:51, 4 December 2006 (CST)

Atlantia's class[edit]

Because Nagala chose her as a flagship, the Atlantia was probably a Mercury-class battlestar. However, given her apparent age she may have been of the Valkyrie's type. Any other clues as to her class? ZeldaTheSwordsman 15:54, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
