"Hex" is a the callsign of a Viper pilot in the Fleet, stationed on Galactica.
The character is first mentioned by Dualla in "Maelstrom" as being dispatched alongside Hotdog as backup for Cpt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace and Maj. Lee "Appollo" Adama as they chase a Cylon Heavy Raider which Thrace claims to see through the atmosphere of a gas giant. Hex is mentioned again in "The Son Also Rises".

- "Hex" could possibly be the callsign of newly inducted Viper pilot Ensign Diana Seelix, as the callsign "Hex" is not mentioned prior to "Mealstrom" and Seelix officially became a nugget in the previous episode, "Dirty Hands". However, as of "Crossroads, Part II" Seelix has yet to actually be seen piloting a Viper and her callsign, if she even possesses one, is still unknown.
- A hex is an evil spell or curse meant to cause misfortune.
