Additional Information

Daru Mozu, also known as Refinery 322[1] is a tylium refinery ship in the Fleet.

A suicide bomber who is part of a peace movement within the Fleet damages the forward section of the Daru Mozu, killing several of its crew (Epiphanies). It survives up until the presidential election that Gaius Baltar wins, and is presumably somehow lost to the Colonials between that point and the labor strike in the Fleet ("Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II", "Dirty Hands").

Notes[edit]

  • The Hitei Kan is another, identical, refinery ship in the Fleet. The episode "Dirty Hands" strongly implies that the Hitei Kan is the only existing refinery ship and thus that the Daru Mozu has been destroyed or abandoned. If the ship was destroyed, it likely occurs as a result of the Cloud Nine explosion in "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II" or even as late as "The Passage", having not survived transit through the star cluster. If abandoned, it must somehow occur between the jump to New Caprica and the Second Exodus ("Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II", "Exodus, Part II").
    • However, in Sine Qua Non, in a scene showing the Rebel Basestar jumping away, both Tylium refinery ships can be seen together in the fleet, suggesting Colonial Tigh's dialect could have been a continuity error, or suggesting that Daru Mozu is no longer able to refine Tylium for use in the fleet, possibly due to battle damage. The shot can be seen here.
  • In "Home, Part I" a refinery ship is referred to as "refueling tanker", but the configuration of the ship is identical to Daru Mozu and Hitei Kan.
  • In "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II", the ship is noted on the master tally board on Galactica, but absent from the whiteboard voting tracker on Colonial One.
