The Colonial Workers Alliance is a labor union originally organized by Galen Tyrol to make demands for improved conditions from the Baltar administration on New Caprica (Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II).

After the Second Exodus, Tyrol finds himself again the leader of the revived CWA to aid in fair working standards for many laborers on the refinery ship and others in the Fleet, at President Roslin's urging (Dirty Hands). Tyrol abandons his duties as head of the union during his breakdown after the death of his wife. ("Sine Qua Non," deleted scene)
