Re-imagined Series[edit]

Caprica is a large blue-green planet, similar to Earth.

Its largest centre of population is Caprica City, which serves as the seat of all three branches of the Colonial Government (Executive, Legislative and Judicial). Caprica is the only planet of the Twelve Colonies that viewers directly witness in the Mini-Series and Season 1 of the regular series. The episode opening credits show Caprica City, as well as the nuclear bombing of the planet.

Other major centres of population included Delphi, famous for its museum and spaceport.

Prior to the Cylon attack, the population was widely spread between cities such as Caprica City and Delphi, and smaller hamlets such as Oasis.

In the new Quorum of Twelve, Caprica is represented by Doctor Gaius Baltar.

After the Holocaust, a resistance movement was organized on Caprica by survivors working to actively oppose the Cylon occupation.

Caprica was originally known as Capricorn (Home, Part II).

The constellation Capricorn appeared on the original flag of Caprica (Home, Part II).

In the video game, Caprica was presumably the "parent" settlement of New Caprica.

Notable Natives[edit]

Economics[edit]

Caprica is known for its fine Caprican cloth (from which Dr. Gaius Baltar wears), fumarella leaf (used for cigar smoking), and art.

The Original Series[edit]

In the original series, Caprica was said to be the world that led the technological renaissance among the Twelve Colonies of Man, rediscovering space flight along the way.
