== Background ==
The Battlestar Valkyrie is a type of Battlestar that would prove popular in the years following the [[Cylon War|First Cylon War]].

It's small frame is heavily armed, allowing for a highly manuvrable artillery package. However, this firepower comes at the cost of a decreased armour profile particulary on it's ventral underside, where sections of its FTL drive remain exposed.
