			Sorry I haven't been contributing to BSP. I've been busy writing a report on the Coelacanth (the fossil fish found thriving at thriving at the bottom of the ocean. It's actually pretty interesting stuff). Anyway, just saying hello. Hope you don't mind.

	Unfortunately, ever since "the incident" (something involving double-secret probation, a toga party, and a horse) Battlestar Wiki (and its parent organization, FrakMedia) have lost any college accreditation that we once had. While we can't give out college credit (and any degrees conferred by the Battlestar Wiki are pretty much worth the paper they're printed on, plus ink/toner), publishing on Battlestar Pegasus does provide another avenue for artists to have their work seen by others, to network with other artists (and authors, etc), and do so without sacrificing the licensing/copyright on their work. Greetings, Forestbender, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I hope you enjoy your stay with us and am looking forward to your contributions to the Wiki! Why not begin by telling us a bit about yourself on your own [[User:Forestbender|user page]]?

As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the ''Battlestar Galactica'' series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise. Presently, we don't cover fan fiction, but our sister-site, [[bsp:|Battlestar Pegasus]], does so. We're also not a discussion site, although we do have an ever-growing [http://www.battlestarforum.com Battlestar Forum] where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!

To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our [[BW:TUT|tutorial]], experiment in [[BW:SAND|the sandbox]] (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic [[BW:POL|policies]] (which have important differences from other SF wikis).

Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the [[BW:CN|Chiefs' noticeboard]] (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the [[BW:GQ|Galactipedians' Quorum]] (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").

Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a [[BW:MEMBERSHIP|paid membership]], which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially.
