When the culinary dish is served traditionally, the egg is usually placed with the noodles raw. As such, the Bonoa parasite inside the eggs is not killed, but is introduced into the blood stream of those who eat the dish. <br /> <br /> Once considered a parasite by the Colonial [[Academy of Sciences]], Lieutenant [[Felix Gaeta]] discovers that the parasite acts more as a symbiont that kills the [[Returner virus]] in the blood. However, the introduction of the parasite can only be done as a form of inoculation, and not as a cure.
