Color schemeJoe, First of all, kudos on starting the wiki! This will be an excellent resource and community, and I'm ecstatic to see it catch on so quickly. The color scheme, while definitely striking, can be a little hard on the eyes for some people, myself included. Changing the skin under preferences helps with the white-on-black text, but all the boilerplate tables retain their FG and BG colors (I guess they're controlled by the individual templates, not by CSS). Is there any way around this problem? I don't know enough about Wiki protocol to determine whether templates can also be driven by CSS. If not, perhaps a discussion should be started about modifying the color palette altogether. I personally would love to see an option for a more Colonial-Fleet-themed palette, with shades of gunmetal gray. Thanks! -- Mayosolo 17:43, 18 January 2006 (EST)
Name ChangeJoe, is it possible for you to change my username? Thanks --BMS 13:32, 28 January 2006 (EST)
CSSSV and I got to talking about CSSing as it applies to skins here. I was wondering, since I know a thing or two (maybe three, but no more) about CSS, how you felt about handing out the .css files to be modified so we could use classes and ids rather than explicit colors for the various templates and boxes we've got around. If you'd rather do this yourself, that's fine, too. I just thought I'd offer/ask. --Day 15:38, 1 February 2006 (EST)
Cite extensionsJoe, I'm not sure if you've seen the cite extension, but this would make it much easier to document our sources. --Peter Farago 00:54, 2 February 2006 (EST)
Smaller ImageJoe, I've uploaded a smaller version of he BSG wiki image, so you can use it on the project pages. Most web browsers horribly pixelate images when scaled (see a project page for an example), using this smaller version will prevent that. The file is located at Image:BSG-WIKI-SM.png. I get some of my images from http://galactica.emedian.net/. --DrBat 08:24, 7 February 2006 (EST) Name Change (Part deux)Joe, I hate to be a bother, but I am politely reminding you of my request for a name change. If there is a problem, could you let me know? Thanks! --BMS 22:12, 7 February 2006 (EST) SlanderJoe, I tried to use the "e-mail this user" in the toolbox but it said I need to be logged in with a valid e-mail address in my preferences, which I do so I don't know why I couldn't email you. So I'll have to ask you this here. Feel free to delete this after you read it. I would hope that the Battlestar Wiki strives to be free of slander so I am requesting you remove the parts of Merv's posting in this thread: http://www.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Sources_talk:Correspondence_with_Jim_Iaccino Where he claims that I called Jim's workplace ( I did not and he admits he was "voicing it as a possibility as I have my suspicions. It's actually probably nothing.") Where he claims I PM'd him an abusive message (I have never PM'd him.) Where he claims I expressed a desire to "anally rape" him (I certainly have never expressed such a desire.) Where he claims I sent YOU a threatening e-mail (I'm sure you realise this is false.) These claims are clearly slander and have no place on your website. The fact that he made up a fictitious PM ((the PM "yeah I am Ribzy you frakhead and I'm going to crucify you!", was a dead giveaway...) Should tell you the depths he will sink to support his slander. Thank you, take care and control. |
