Born in DuQuoin, Illinois[1], Swofford started his show business career in the early 1960s, quickly finding his niche as playing the "every man".[2] Swofford's appearances in television, spanning from the 1960s to mid-1990s, include such well-known series as The Six Million Dollar Man, Gunsmoke, Mission Impossible, Adam-12 (with Galactica 1980 actor Kent McCord), The A-Team, Knight Rider and Max Headroom. Swofford had problems with alcoholism, later narrating a video for Mothers Against Drunk Driving in 1983.[1] References
