favicon
I thought this would be a good place to talk about this. I created a favicon for this site using the basic BSG circle logo, but ".ico" is blocked in the image upload. Most wikis will rediredct requests for favicon.ico to Image:Favico.ico, so I dont know why it is blocked here. Anyway, please unblock ".ico" so i can upload it and get rid of this ugly "basic page" icon on my toolbar. Thanks. --Bp 12:01, 5 May 2006 (CDT)
- It wouldnt work even if you did managed ot upload an ico file because images are actually uploaded withing a series of subdirectories. if you want a favicon to work it must be uploaded to the root folder. and that requires admin ftp access --Mercifull 12:15, 5 May 2006 (CDT)
- I'm pretty sure the MediaWiki software redirects requests for /favicon.ico to the image source for Image:favicon.ico. So it would work. But, i'll email it anyway. --Bp 12:28, 5 May 2006 (CDT)

- Any other suggestions from people. I will be adding a small black outline to all of the buttons like the outline of the text. I will also be shrinking the image picture or replacing with a landscape one too. Peter also expressed a little concern over the mediawiki icon, should it be changed back to a simple 'W'? - Those are absolutely gorgeous. I have two nitpicks, though. The speaker on the "sound" button is a little hard to recognize. (I think this is probably unavoidable at this resolution, so I see why the default went with the trumpet.) I thought all "No ..." signs had their drawn diameters as slashes and not back-slashes, but this is inconsequential as the meaning is still more than clear. --CalculatinAvatar(C-T) 14:41, 21 June 2006 (CDT)
- If recognition of the speaker is a concern, you could take a page out of Apple's book and do a sideways profile with little sound waves coming out.
