Air Force Special Detachment One

Air Force Special Detachment One is a project of the United States Air Force that deals with unexplained phenomena.

Colonel Jack Sydell is the leader of this unit in 1980 (The Super Scouts, Part I), but is later shot by Xaviar (Spaceball) and is subsequently replaced by Colonel Briggs (The Night the Cylons Landed, Part I).

It is because of this project that Troy, Dillon and other Galacticans, including the Super Scouts, are consistently interfered with and, consequently, have to avoid being both detected and captured.

Notes

• This detachment is inspired by the real Project Blue Book, which officially ended in January 1970, after it had been terminated in December 1969.
