The Vigilantes, Viper squadron 3, was a Viper squadron in the Colonial Fleet before the Cylon attack (Mini-Series).
Later, the Vigilantes are assigned to the battlestar Galactica at the time of the cylon attack.
Galactica pilot Lieutenant Kara "Starbuck" Thrace is a member of the Vigilantes (Act of Contrition).
Notes
The Vigilantes squadron logo is visible in both Colonel Saul Tigh's quarters and the pilot's ready room on the Galactica.
The squadron flown led by Major Jackson Spencer in the Mini-Series is possibly the Vigilantes with Thrace surviving only due to her being in the brig. "Jolly" Anders replaces her in the flyby.
